The title of this thread looks like a sick joke now, after the way things have gone since it was first posted.

Was gonna post this.

But I guess we do provide ample entertainment and amusement to all our opponents.

Thanks for everything Venkys. From Jack Walker to this.

I think yesterdays events at Craven Cottage should put an end to this silly debate.

We played well, by all accounts it was an enthralling match played between two equally matched teams and both going for the win.

We lost and now we have become embroiled even deeper in the relegation mire. It's horrible and a 0-1 final score with the winner provided following a massive goalmouth scramble after 89 minutes of route 1 hoofball (whatever that is) would have altered my mood for the better dramatically.

On reflection, I have changed my stance, prefer us passing it around on the deck as often as possible - much more enjoyable to watch and we have the players to do it too.

Instead of going to the cinema, I am just watching repeats of our games on DVD.

Was there any point to this post?

No wonder this place is goin' down the crapper.

its a matter of perspective.

if i was a barcelona fan, then i would expect entertaining football, players going for creative plays, players trying do, what is almost pervieved to be impossible. My expectations would be both winning and playing ball "the right way"

Im not a bareclona fan, im a rovers fan and i know, what is realistically possible. I know what to expect and not to expect, so in our case im satisfied with winning, no matter how its done. I dont expect us to play barca´esque football, i know its not possible, so when all is said and done, winning is entertaing for me.

Yesterday I watched the England v Scotland Rugby game. Now THAT was most entertaining and very exciting. BOTH teams really wanted it, and the crowd were really up for it. I might just shift my allegiance to the alternative code.

Have to disagree there Fife. The match was tense because it could have gone either way but entertainment and excitement was in short supply because England made so many mistakes and there was very little running rugby. The Twickers crowd was unusually quiet I thought probably because England are within reach of the coveted grand slam and could easily have lost to the Scots. The best player on the pitch was the fox.

Probably not.....it just feels like it atm. Hopefully I will be fully restored and re-energised for a 7-45am start on Saturday. I am booked on the 9-22 from Waverley; are you going down McClarky? Ernie's on the 8-53, but I can't make that one.

Still laugh at the name Ernie! Yes I am going down on 9.22 as well although we might go for the earlier 1 if I manage to get out of bed in time. Staying down till Sunday.

Interesting spin off question-Which defeat for Rovers have you enjoyed the most? Obvious choice would be 94-95 Liverpool away, but apart from that?

Liverpool away in the cup '78/'79. Matched the Euro champs all the way and outsung the kop, all while we were heading down to the 3rd

Derby away, playoff return leg

Celtic away in the Uefa Cup.

Left footed fans stunned into silence as Rovers ran rings round Celtic for 80 minutes - the best pure football I have seen Rovers play since 1960s.

Pity Martin Martin Taylor went to sleep at a corner.

Left footed fans (I'm slow so it's lost on me)

I remember watching on the tele... we were awesome that day, and should have been taking a comfortable lead back to Ewood.
