left footed? its not like you to throw religious stuff about hey jim...so lets get this right its ok to have a pop at catholics but not muslims(in other threads you say anyone who says these things against muslims are bigots etc)? oh and aussies you hate them too.

Exactly. Funny how stark as that example is some people still can't see the similarity and will decry one and absolve the other. For what it's worth neither left footer or raghead should be perceived as anything but a collective nick name and not offensive in the slightest. Proddydogs and 3x2's were never meant to be complimentary but are certainly not hurtful are they?

Interesting spin off question-Which defeat for Rovers have you enjoyed the most? Obvious choice would be 94-95 Liverpool away, but apart from that?

I certainly was far from happy at the final whistle but a few stand out as being entertaining games:

Chelsea at home 98/99 season. Lost 3-2, Perez sent off for being punched by Le Saux. Very unlucky to lose and it all went downhill from there

Charlton away 2003/04 (?). Lost 3-2 again after big Brad equalised

Home game against Leeds, again when Hodgson was there, 3-4 I think

Away at Man City 93. Went 2-0 up and lost 3-2. First season up, going mental in the Kippax

Same season away at Liverpool, lost 2-1, but Shearer scored an amazing goal and to push Liverpool at Anfield like that was a great feeling.

It was 4-3, actually.

Loved Perez. I was sad to see him go.

Time to put this thread to bed.

The club's current position shows more than ever that it's results that matter - and sod the entertainment.

I'll take 0-0 draws to the end of the season if it means we stay up.

Indeed. I'd have gladly taken the half time score if Dowd had decided to call it a day and blow the final whistle after 49mins. The 2nd half wasn't about entertainment as much as punishment.

I didn't 'enjoy' the game one bit. The room was awash with nervous tension.

What I did enjoy was seeing a positive result for my club and watching/reading the reaction since.

This still running?

I simply want better players. Quality footballers entertain. Losing, while trying to play any kind of football aint good. Obvious to me from the off.

Nothing else to say is there?

How entertaining is this? I can only assume that they must have been 6-0 up at the time!

So if we get a pen tomorrow in the 90th minute with the score 0-0 who would feel like being entertained like this?

I am sure most English refs would have demanded it to be retaken and the FA would defend them with some crap about distracting the goalie.

I think it was flippin marvelous.

Wouldn't be able to watch a normal penalty kick never mind a cocky one.

If you pause it and then play/pause it, it's just a normal kick with a flip on the end. I thought at first that he'd done a flip and kicked it in but alas no.

Officially a rubbish pen then eh Maj?

You sacked Allardyce because you wanted 'entertaining football' Mrs Desai............

:wstu:

ARE YOU BEING SERVED?

Sad thing is SG, plenty of our fans were daft enough to go along with it.

Oh yeah, and Mattyblue's right as well.

I've never called for a thread to be locked but it's time this one was. I think we all know now the answer and that even for the dreamers there really is no debate to be had.

This thread should have been shut a long time ago.

I'd take a dreadful game next week and 3 points.

This is a scrap, nothing more/less.
