The fact you bring two of the finest footballing sides into the equation doesn't do your argument any favours.

So it's either hoofball or champagne football - there is no compromise whatsoever?

We had a compromise before we appointed Kean, but there's no point debating this with you Topman, when your starting point is "total hoofball".

Just had a quick look and you're still talking crap, so back on ignore.

Truth is Degsy most of the VALID disillusionment that I've heard in recent seasons has been aimed at two goons Ince and Kean who profess to set up their teams to entertain! 'Entertaining' a neutral could only assume being a local euphamism for 'losing'. btw Don't you ever take any notice of polls? We've had one on here about Allardyces sacking and the LT too ran one (that your mates no doubt contributed to) on Allardyce's sacking. Both need i repeat showed your flawed opinion to be in the significant minority.

The best thing your mates could have done was stop going to Ewood and to stop supporting the club. Join you in Austraia even. It would be far far less damaging to the club than the should the consequences of their moaning turn out to be relegation and quite possibly bankruptcy and oblivion!

I know you aren't the brightest but if you're going to bother replying to my posts you might as well read them properly first.

If the lads back home had joined me out here they would have become acustomed to a local phrase that is particularly apt for you.

You're a dingbat.

You may be right, I may indeed not be the brightest but at least I possess enough intelligence and gumption to prosper and provide for my family in my own country. So that'll do for me thanks.

Or maybe you just lack the bottle and imagination to seek new horizons.

Swings and roundabouts.

Outrageous comment. Personal and probably incorrect.

Where he lives is none of your business. Can't believe I read that.

So all who move abroad lack intelligence and gumption? Wow.

Phil Jones gives his opinion and enters the debate

He added: "I think Arsenal play the prettiest football in the Premier League. Obviously money helps. Having more money allows you to play in a certain way"

Oh and did anyone notice Jason Roberts and our coach last week, reading from the same script – it is nice to play well and win however now all that matters is results…..

They'll both have got the same email from the boss.

Only two goals scored during the last three full sided games whilst conceding a goal in every one of those games is not a positive for the manager to hold onto and not something we should accept from the bullshiting jock.

  • 3 weeks later...

I noticed a couple of Blackpool fans tried to have a pop at us via text on Radio Lancs before - saying something like 'at least we played football the right way unlike some local clubs'.

Well they can play the right way in the Championship next year can't they?! :tu:

Well we definitely need to get better at keeping the ball, not bothered about long balls as I believe it was Gumboots who summarized that the other day. They are fine as long as they are actually aimed at a player and not just hopeful punts.

I think it highlights an interesting point in that we desperately need a quality ball player in the middle next season, especially if we are to play as Kean desires.

Striker and midfielder must be the priorities this summer.

Love the long ball stat, put's that one to bed.

Sweet, are you a Notlob fan?

No, I took it from zonalmarking.com who were doing an article on bolton. Thats why bolton are highlighted.

In terms of the long ball stat for us, I suspect if big sam had been managing us all season, then our stat would be more geared towards using the long ball.

Well we definitely need to get better at keeping the ball,

I've been banging on about that for years. We are pathetic at playing keep ball in order to run the clock down. Simple fact is that to do so succesfully requires lots of people to work off the ball, find space and make themselves available to the person on the ball. Forward, sideways of backwards is immaterial.

The most frustrating part in our passing game is to see two or three of our players playing even decreasing triangles on the touchline until they are so close that they inevitably lose possession. It's as if they are wearing blinkers. :angry2: I might have to wash my mouth out with soap but even Tugay was guilty of this. The only midfielder in the last generation who consistently recognised this happening and could turn and play the ball across the line was the excellent Tim Sherwood. Time and again he had the awareness to spot such a situation developing and turn inward to find a teammate with time and space across the pitch.

Easy to spot why the top 3 clubs at aerial success are where they are. Messrs Drogba, Davies and Crouch!

Here are some interesting stats for the season. Thought this thread would be the best place for them.

because we are low or very low in those tables yet did not get relegated and finished higher than a few of the teams with higher %, there should be another table showing our efficiency re possesion and pass rate etc, it would be very near the top,

thats stats for you, plus I like my glass to be half full and rising

:D
