Eddie Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I have been told that one of the players Rovers are looking at should we stay up is is Lille striker Gervinho. I have talked to one of his representatives this morning and he confirmed that Rovers are one of a few Premier League clubs who want him, the player is going to wait until the summer before making any decisions. Talented player. Suited to the league. Would be expensive. Can't see why Lille would want to sell him, especially if they win the league.

booth Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I wonder if Kean is discussing the R word yet I think Kean should put his league table wall chart the right way round.
roversfan99 Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 If we do stay up(which looks doubtful), I wouldn't be surprised if we renewed our supposed interest in Osvaldo from Espanyol. I've caught glimpses of tonight's match(scored 2) and other Espanyol games, he knows where the net is and is good in the air.
ABBEY Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 If anyone at the club is even thinking about transfers then it is just another reason to be even more concerned. I wonder if Kean is discussing the R word yet spot on... but barry white has R-oooney and R-onaldo.

Backroom trueblue Posted April 21, 2011 Backroom Posted April 21, 2011 Anelka I flaming well hope not!.. Super-Sulk would do us no good what-so-ever
Darwen Rover Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 I flaming well hope not!.. Super-Sulk would do us no good what-so-ever Would be perfect for us
BPF Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Osvaldo Staying Put Journalists + Our club = pathetic at the moment. They have a set template: Ambitious Blackburn Rovers have set their sights on (Insert name of ageing great here)
roverwhelmed Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Where is Nicko? I noticed he was reading the granada thread yesterday.
Tris Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Where is Nicko? Compromised. When agents don't squawk ... Nicko can't talk.

Steve Moss Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I'm not sure I like this, if true. Fielding to Derby is 500,000 deal.
AggyBlue Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I'm not sure I like this, if true. Fielding to Derby is 500,000 deal. It's been a done deal for some time with a proviso that Derby don't go down. Are they safe now? He wants to play first team football. I got told 400K though.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 He's never going to make it into the Rovers first team with Robbo, Bunn and Brown in front of him. If we go down however......
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Jake Kean is a better prospect from what I've heard, so I am not surprised Fielding might be going.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 He got rave reviews earlier this season whilst out on loan. I don't know much about him to be honest but if what they're saying is true, we've got another good prospect in our books.
47er Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Its a strange thing but throughout the decades I've been following Rovers we've always had terrific keepers and great centre-halves (apart from Coddington!) We've been short everywhere else mind!
Oklahoma Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I was hoping we could keep Fielding and loan him to get a full season playing. Robinson is the starting gk but Bunn and Brown can leave... Fielding and Jake Kean should be our future gks.
chaddyrovers Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 man utd and liverpool wanted Phil Jones http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-News-Liverpool-and-Manchester-United-will-battle-for-Blackburn-s-Phil-Jones-article728300.html Jack Hunt stays at Huddersfield instead of moving to Bolton or Blackburn http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-News-Jack-Hunt-has-signed-new-deal-with-Huddersfield-after-interest-from-Bolton-and-Blackburn-article728272.html
joey_big_nose Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Phil Jones is going to attract bids of 20m + this summer, easy. Some of the top clubs in Europe will want him. Even if we stay up it will be a massive achievement to hold on. I can be accused of the old blue and white specs, but he looks much better than Terry etc did at his age (which is nineteen- jesus!). He is still to have a bad game, and had several excellent ones. Only really Ferdinand could you stick in the same bracket of performing at CB so well from someone so young. Pace, power, outstanding in the air, decent technically, reads the game well (maybe some room for improvement here), can pass well. Shoo-in for next England squad if Capello's got any gumption. On top of that he has been very good in midfield which is something neither Ferdinand nor Terry ever got to grips with in their illustrious careers.
Bobby G Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 No way 20 million +. I can see the 10-15 million range. But I wouldnt accept anything for him at will. Team should be built around him and he should be made captain in summer regardless of our status in PL. But if he angles for a move, then Id be looking for 15 million Pounds at least.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 With a heavy heart,If either Liverpool or Utd come a calling with that sort of money then he'll be off asap and, sadly, who can blame him?.Make the most of this talented lad these last few games. Contracts mean nothing and can be paid off.
