Ferrit Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 That Sun link is an absolute classic. 4 lines of text, really? Looks like a done deal to me.

Hughesy Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 No thanks to either RSC or SWP from me. Overpaid, too big for their boots, not got the desire anymore....therefore not they way id like to see the club progress.
The Rover of Finland Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 More speculation, this time it's SWP: SWP to Rovers? Junior is a same type of player and even better these days. No thanks.
Backroom DE. Posted May 5, 2011 Backroom Posted May 5, 2011 Ipswich want Roberts, this according to the Daily Mail. on a free, but they also mention he is out of at the end of the month. Might have to find out where Paul Jewell lives and convince him Big Jase is the man to push them back into the big time

JAL Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 That Sun link is an absolute classic. 4 lines of text, really? Looks like a done deal to me. This will probably mean that Roque will have more or less given up on putting in that extra effort for Rovers, if true.

Gav Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 At last someone who agrees with me about Bentley! Bentley walks out I know the bust up has already been mentioned, but what the hell has happened to David Bentley? I know 47er and several other posts would be glad to see him back at the club, for the right price, but the lad seems to have lost the plot big time, shades of Franny Jeffers for me. An in form David Bentley should be playing Champions League football for Spurs, but it seems he can't even get into a relegation threatened Premiership side these days, sad really.

When even someone as big headed as Pennant could find his form in the Premiership again, so could Bentley. The question is how many humbling experiences it's going to take...
Jimmy612 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Bentley walks out I know the bust up has already been mentioned, but what the hell has happened to David Bentley? Real shame to see one of the best talents at Ewood in a long time, capitulate in the last 3 years. I still think he could regain form, if he only he would grow up and realise what a @#/? he's being. So much talent gets wasted when people have got nothing between their ears. Stan Collymore, Franny Jeffers, Bentley, even Jay Bothroyd was considered the next best thing at Arsenal but he acted like a ######. Having said that, it looks like he's finally grown up abit under Dave Jones, not a bad player really.

Too much money to young Jimmy, but I guess for those you mention above we have 100 examples of players that do things the right way. I'm surprised Arry didn't sort him out at Spurs, it was a dream move for him, supported them as a boy apparently , how could it go so wrong.
47er Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 A top player wasting his talent. Great shame. Means Spurs will lose a lot of money though and this I like!
Amo Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Technically a better player than Beckham, but sadly doesn't have that drive to succeed. Perhaps this is exactly why we didn't want him in January.
Gav Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 A top player wasting his talent. Great shame. Means Spurs will lose a lot of money though and this I like! Yes one consolation in all of this, I wonder how much Spurs will try to flog him for? Can’t be more than 3-4m can it?

AJW Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 his best position is wide right , thats where he put in his very best performances in , i wouldnt like to see him come and stop Hoilletts progress would you?
Seggie Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 his best position is wide right , thats where he put in his very best performances in , i wouldnt like to see him come and stop Hoilletts progress would you? Its not about one player, to be successful at this level you need decent depth in the squad. We have players who can do a job effectively on the left should Olsson get injured or Givet but should Junior get injured our best option is Emerton who lets face it can cover at RB but he offers little when on the wing. Also both Junior and Bentley could play behind a sole striker eliminating the need for relience on Dunny.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Yes one consolation in all of this, I wonder how much Spurs will try to flog him for? Can’t be more than 3-4m can it? We'll probably have a sell on fee? Hmm.
RibbleValleyRover Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Ba? I wouldn't sign him, he failed a medical at Stoke which perhaps indicates a potential serious injury problem down the line. West Ham being desperate took the gamble and it paid off but that doesn't mean that would be the case next season. Demba Ba massive injury risk says Stoke boss Tony Pulis Rovers already have enough crocks on the books do we really need another? On Bentley, Venky's sign him up!
