Demba Ba's stats for the season

Hoffenheim - 15 starts, 6 goals

West Ham - 10 starts, 7 goals

Not bad....He's 6ft 2 and only 25.

FAR better than anything we have.....

Ba & Sturridge for next season please...Id be very confident if we could add 2 players like that to Kalinic, Roberts & Rochina

Failed a medical at Stoke though---knee.

Parker???

Given it's his third time perhaps it's more than coincidence?

Implied within that is Parker is one of the reasons West Ham went down, which is ludicrous. They would have been down months ago had he not been there.

Parker shouldn't go to a big clubs, he had a nightmare time at Chelsea.

He's better as a big fish in a mid table team then getting frozen out in a top 5.

Yeah I agree there. He could add some much needed steel to the Spurs midfield though, I reckon that's where he'll end up.

I'd love Demba Ba if his medical showed no problems. Same for Hitzlsperger too, good alternative to Jones.

Parker will probably go to a bigger club, he has always looked to London and I assume Spurs will be interested. He is an enigma in midfield, and has been on my wishlist for years... Three of his clubs may have been relegated, but he's been the best player in all of them.

My choice from the near-relegated clubs would be a swoop for Hugo Rodallega. Strong, fast and a far better finisher than what we have now. Demba Ba looks the part, but when he was flogged around all over Europe, it seemed like money was a big issue...

Yet had no problems at West Ham....

Well Jermaine Jones came to us under the tag of 'crock' initially, didn't he? And he's one of the stars of our team (albeit on loan). Ba could well have just failed a medical, but actually be fine for a couple seasons before he packs up on the pitch. Benjani also has dodgy knees but (while he hasn't played much) I don't think he's been reported as injured for a long while has he?

A left back, J. Jones, Demba Ba and Rodallega. Roughly a 22million outlay, but if we lined up with:

Robinson

Emerton Samba Jones <Left Back>

Hoilett N Zonzi Jones Olsson

Rodallega Ba

I genuinely think even id get top 6 managing that team.

Oh to dream.

I would add a comment from former manager Gordon Lee when he came to Rovers, 'he went out and signed players from winning teams, players who knew and understood the mentality of winning'

Funny that Ba, Parker, Green, Upson etc are all internationals, wonder why as a unit they cant win games, mentality? application? desire? you tell me, but Gordon Lee had a point!!

In our case, that would have to be players from the Championship or the lower reaches of Europe. Not saying that's a bad thing though, the days of doing decent business with players from PL teams are long gone for us. Even players like DJ Campbell or Steven Fletcher would demand sums up against the £7 million mark, which they simply aren't worth. We should look in The Championship, France, Germany and Eastern Europe for players who wants a raise in salary and a crack at the world's most popular league.

Avram 'the relegator' Grant being in charge maybe?

From the strikers possibly available Ba would be top of the list. I would love to bring in Sturridge but can't see it happening. As a possible option, N'Gog would be a cracking buy for us i think, he is talented just has huge pressure on him at Liverpool, think he could excel here. I also saw the young lad Zavron Hines at West Ham is on a free? He is lightning and has serious potential in my opinion.

Think we still need a few decent midfielders. JJ would be a excellent signing, a bit of business we must do. Vaughan and Adam would slot nicely into the squad to link up play. Craig Gardner would be a cracking buy as a box to box player. Parker? Well we can all dream can't we  .

Agree we need a left back and a Samba replacement (if he does go). We could do alot worse than Liam Ridgewell imo.

Just some thoughts.

Gardner is a decent shout if brum get relegated. Parker is awesome but would defo be off to a bigger club than ours. Should maybe look at raiding spurs if Parker goes there, they have far too many midfielders: Bale, Pienaar, Sandro, Huddlestone, Jenas, palacios, modric, sandro, van der vaart, kranjcar, bentley, all battling out for midfield places.

And to be honest i'd buy anyone of those at a reasonable price, obviously there are a few there who are well out of reach for us but they would surely have to be letting some players go.

For me if we really went for the right players, it would be Nzogbia (excellent all season) has pace and quality,

Sturridge as a striker is as good as we could get in my opinion, Beccio at Leeds is a player I like, I do think he could step up a bit, interestingly, one player I wanted early season was Kris Commons who is gaining rave reviews at Celtic now and scoring goals from midfield after signing from Derby in January.

I'd Have Ba without a shadow of a doubt, he has more prem goals already then any of our players. Parker wont come to us he has bigger fish to fry and he knows it, expect him to move to Spurs, Liverpool or Arsenal. Rodallega is very attratic i'd pass on him. Left Back i dont see needing to be improved desperatly, Givet is accomplished thier and i would like to see the young Morris provide back up rather then Olsson.

my list would be:

CB if Samba Leaves: Top Choice: Scott Dann (Birmingham)

Possible Option: Ashley Williams (Swansea) He is the next best player to come out of the Championship personally.

BOX TO BOX Midfielder: Top Choice: Jermaine Jones

Possible Option's: Lewis McGugan (Notts Forest), Darren Pratley (Swansea), Mark Noble (West Ham)

Attacking Midfielder: Top Choice: Charlie Adam

Possible Options: Charles N'Zogbia, Seb Larsson, Steven Davis (Rangers)

Wild Card: Lucas (Sao Paulo) 18, Highly rated in Brazil, got his first Brazil cap vs Scotland a few weeks ago.

Striker's: Top Choice's: Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse, Lukas Podolski.

Possible Options: Craig Bellamy, Yakubu, Carlton Cole, Salomon Rondon (Malaga), Pablo Osvaldo (Espanyol).

Wild Card: Leandro Damiao (Internacional) 21, 6ft 1, 22 goals in 24 games, Big Powerful Brazilan striker who has the build to play in the prem, got his first Brazil cap vs Scotland.

O`Hara is Spurs midfielder too. He might stay at Wolves though. Palacios didn´t fancy moving to London but Wigan wanted to sell him. Spurs don´t really need him and maybe he would prefer to live in Lancashire. Keeping JJ is still the first choice here.

I dont know about anyone else but I think Ba from West Ham is exactly the kind of striker we need, he plays right on the line with the defenders and isn't afraid to throw himself into things, and hes BIG. I'd happy trade in Rockys, Benjani's and Roberts's wages for him, leaving Ba, Kalanic and Rochina and perhaps retain Diouf Jnr on loan for longer

His club may want him back but hopefully JJ has enjoyed playing in the prem and would wish to stay, I'd love to see him stay

I think samba will move on, Jones will hopefully stay and with the samba money we can buy another solid centre back

Didn't Spurs pay something like £12m for Palacios?

Not sure how much they'd be willing to lose on him, but I'd take him - even over JJ. He's younger, less injury-prone and a phenomenal midfielder.

I think we could be losing a few first team players this summer, If Arsenal or Spurs come in for Robinson and we have a big offer for Samba I think both will leave. Also I don't think Kalanic has much of a future under Kean which is sad seen as he has been dropped after performing and has never had a good run in the team.

apparently when Spurs offered Palacios a contract extention he said "You cold blooded b*****d! I'll tell you what I think of it! I live to see you eat that contract, but I hope you leave enough room for my fist because I'm going to ram it into your stomach and break your god-damn spine!"

But my mate could have been lying

fWould love Modric or Kranjcar.

Didn't know spurs had 2 Sandros? :-P

Kranjcar might just be possible but Modric?! What are you on. A key key player for Spurs.

Anyway why do people think we need attacking midfielders? We have six now - Hoilett, Olsson, Pedersen, Dunn, Formica and Rochina. Formica andRochina were bought to play for Rovers, and we are never going to be able to play more than three of them at a time so adding numbers won't help. While Olsson could perhaps move to left back and there is an argument to replace Dunn, I cannot see us making significant reinforcements in this area without sales.

The only money I can see being spent on 'names' is on strikers and J Jones.

Obviously that changes if people are sold but hopefully that won't happen. I'd rather keep Hoilett and Olsson than sign Krancjar. Also I would like to see what Formica and Rochina can bring to the team.
