A cup of beans Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Andrea Pirlo is mine. He'd make Tugay look like Paul Shepstone. paul shepstone.. used to like him when i was younger! thought he was decent! i understand your pirlo and tugay point. Tugay was class.. and i'll always love him. but ive watched pirlo over 20 times live.. and he is even better. tv doesnt do the guy justice.. he is magical. he is simply the best at what he does. his injury record over the last few seasons has worried the medical staff at the milanello complex.. and if they cant fix him i dont know who can. interesting fact though.. when pirlo was at inter (and not getting in the side.. hodgson and souness tried very hard to get him to rovers. linked with anchelotti.. carlo has told gazzetta.. "i'll be in rome by the 7th of june" if thats true pirlo may well go there. if not.. venky's there's your marquee signing! especially if we get an italian manager, ranieri or even carlo himself! if not maybe convince super pippo inzagi to come over.. with pirlo.. so he's not alone. hes free. haha his injury was bad, but stick him in the 6yard box.. the best finisher in the world in recent times!

If he is good in the six yard box then we need someone to deliver the ball in there and at the moment we havent!
A cup of beans Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 If he is good in the six yard box then we need someone to deliver the ball in there and at the moment we havent! ollsen and junior ? theyll improve over time.. if not theirs always the robinson hoof! "robinson.. kicks long... nzonzi flicks it on into the penalty area... goal.. inzaghi!
chris Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 I think Tugay would have played for a top club all his life if he was consistent and stopped passing to him: I vote Pirlo
braddock Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 If he is good in the six yard box then we need someone to deliver the ball in there and at the moment we havent! Considering the amount of missed chances in the last few games, particularly from N'Zonzi, there are some chances to be taken.
steo Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Samba deserves his transfer to arsenal,he owes us nothing but phil jones must stay or it will be an even worse season than this one, owners need to spend 20 mil plus and get a bloody experienced manager in.wes brown is tripe!
47er Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Considering the amount of missed chances in the last few games, particularly from N'Zonzi, there are some chances to be taken. Weakest part of N'Zonzi's game. If he can get 7 goals a season we have a star. Work on it!
chris Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Weakest part of N'Zonzi's game. If he can get 7 goals a season we have a star. Work on it! Yeah I'm not sure he'll ever do that, the few shots he has had this season lacked power and most importantly technique He plays quite laid back, he shots laid back. I'd like to see him step up a gear, but he's doing pretty good positionally breaking up play.

He's got into the right position, beaten his marker but then headed wide or over.
joey_big_nose Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 For Samba how about Bassong and Defoe/Pavyluchenko? Although it's very rare to see a swap deal like that. That sounds reasonably feasible. Spurs have so many good players that they just don't use and frankly need to offload. I would take any of:- Bassong, Naughton, Rose, Bentley, Krancjar, O'Hara. I don't think Pavylechenko or Defoe will be interested even if Spurs wanted to let them go. A second advantage is Spurs are (supposedly) frugal with wages so bringing in these players should be affordable.
davulsukur Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/may/19/sebastien-bassong-spurs-heaven-hell People have suggested Bassong, well he wants out of Spurs
Hughesy Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/may/19/sebastien-bassong-spurs-heaven-hell People have suggested Bassong, well he wants out of Spurs I was just about to come here to post about Bassong. At 24 he is a potential replacement for Samba. Bassong & Kranjcar please....I feel we are much stronger then, and it saves us from having to find another midfielder and also its a straight replacement for Samba....leaving us to concentrate on full backs & strikers.
bennyboyt11 Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 WIll Spurs be wanting to sell Bassong though? With Gallas/Dawson/Bassong/Khumalo as their options, disregarding Woodgate and King, they're still pretty light. A few times this season they had to play Huddlestone at CB.
davulsukur Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I didn't realise that he was so young, i would be happy to bring Bassong in, and Kranjcar should be brought in regardless of any swap deal.

We're not wanting to sell Samba are we? Why should other clubs always get what they want but not us?
Hughesy Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 We're not wanting to sell Samba are we? Why should other clubs always get what they want but not us? Samba wants to leave….he has made that clear over the last 12-18 months now. We have done well to keep him this long, and I think most fans think its time to let him get his trophys and move on (we all know he wont & the rovers curse will kick in). No point keeping an unhappy player at the club, especially if it gives you the opportunity to maybe get big money or a better squad from the sale.
BRFC95 Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 They usually have much more money than us, however with Venky's cash behind us I'd like to see Samba stay and lead us into Europe and lift the cup we're going to win next season.

But hopefully thats all in the past.
Backroom DE. Posted May 20, 2011 Backroom Posted May 20, 2011 Bassong & Kranjcar would be great signings, but I think bigger clubs will be in for both.
Roverdale Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Bassong & Kranjcar would be great signings, but I think bigger clubs will be in for both. I'd imagine they'd be more likely to consider Rovers as a pair, but as mentioned above these swap signings don't really seem to happen as much nowadays. Spurs are also notorious for overvaluing their players so I'd imagine that Kranjcar alone would be a hefty part of what they value Samba. I do agree that the 2 of them for Samba would be an absolutely quality deal, Steve Kean should hold a meeting with fans about who they'd like to see in a Rovers shirt. Or perhaps I've been playing a little too much Football Manager.
