Not sure if pavlyuchenko has been playing regularly for spurs,am sure he was told he could leave in the last window...i wouldnt mind seeing him in a rovers shirt myself :D

Show pony, just putting himself in the window. If the Big Club defenders had have backed off him any more they would have been stood with the Spurs fans ! My bet for our head line grabbing signing _________________________________ Michael Owen. And no I don't want him at Rovers.

Actually looking at his stats for league goals its not that impressive..my bad,the stable is full anyways with the two donkeys we have at the minute in roque and jason lol...Il be happy as long as we get someone who will score regularly for us..Guess we've seen the last of Niko as well...

Maybe steve kean could be the man to bring the best out off carlton cole(when in form hes top quality), shouldnt cost too much(3mil), he has the physical attributes of roberts but with a lot more technical ability.

The only person able to bring the best out of Carlton Cole is Carlton Cole. The bloke needs to realise he has to put a shift in. I cannot believe he still gets any plaudits. I saw today that Stoke want him for £9m!!! Unbelievable!

I don't say this lightly, but i'm not sure if i'd rather see Cole in a Rovers shirt or the return of Shefki Kuqi. And my eyes bleed everytime i watch Kuqi play football.

Vaughan from Blackpool could maybe be a decent signing (didn't he win Blackpool's player of the year award?) too? I know the old saying that goes something like "If you buy Championship players, you'll get Championship football", but there are some good players still on the books of the relegated trio.

I'd like Vaughan just so I have an excuse to have it on the back of my shirt :rover: .

Not a bad player either... Assuming we keep a hold of Jones and Samba, they should along with Nelson and Givet make up the core of our central defence (Hanley in reserve). Possibly a new right and left back, one providing cover for Salgado and another to be a starter. Olsson and Hoilett on the wings are an exciting prospect next year. Assuming we can get Jones in to partner N'Zonzi we could have a fairly strong team next season. Just need an out an out goalscorer. Hopefully Kean/Whoever can find one with the "mountains of cash" (fairly sure that was the quote given on Soccer Saturday).

I dont want to rain on the parade but I think it's fairly obvious that we are going to have to put up with a summer of the press doing the bidding of "the big clubs" regarding Samba. I think we may have to resign ourselves to having seen him in a Rovers shirt for the last time.

If that proves to be the case we could do a lot worse than raiding Brum for Scott Dann.

Well yeah they are intended to be ones for the future alright but on what basis could anyone assume either would be ready for that role in August? Formica especially could well be struggling to get in the team.

(assuming we are still in the Premier League of course).

I just had a look at out complete squad, and it's extraordinary how many players I feel we have to get rid off. The following players offers nothing or very little to Rovers and should be let go at the first opportunity:

Grella

Andrews

Santa Cruz

Doran

Goulon

Benjani

Brown

Mame Diouf

El-Hadji Diouf

Consider that this list is very generous towards players like Linganzi, Roberts and Dunn, and that it's very likely that Kalinic will be sold as well. Have Rovers ever been so full of deadwood?

No issue with Samba leaving:

He's given good service.

He could have gone before.

He'll get us a load of cash.

There are defenders available.

Agreed. I just hope that he (and his agent) act with a bit of dignity and show the club some respect. I have the feeling that he may be a bit of a "rent-a-quote".

Tbh, I think that this a legacy of the trust and Managers having to scrabble around in the reject bin for players.

Samba will not come cheap, especially given recent heroics. I would sell for 15m +, and good luck to the man.

Bassong would be a great replacement, and pretty young too(24).

Getting rid of the dross in the squad and signing 4-5 quality first teamers is the task at hand. Building around Olsson,Hoilett,Jones,Kalinic,N'Zonzi,Formica,Rochina.

I realise I've included the two new guys who sound like they are playing blinders in the reserves and should be included in the first team squad next year. Kalinic, only 23, I've always liked the guy and would like him to be given another go, dont know what the deal with him and Kean, however if a decent offer comes in he'll probably be gone.

Hoilett large new deal please!

Get Jermaine Jones in permanently and then be sensible with our other transfers.

Totally agree with that. As well as Hoilett on a new contract.

From the teams that went down, players that I would consider are, Ba, hitelsperger (spelling) from wham. Adams from Blackpool, but I don't think any brum players could replace what we already have.

Keep Kalinic - just curious how he would do with a different style of play.

consider

Sturridge from Chelsea, Defoe.

We must keep Robbo, salgado (one more season) Samba, Givet, Phil Jones, Olsson, Hoilett, nzonzi,

But we must get rid of Andrews, Grella, Benjani, RSC (not to be considered for permanent contract)

I can't see why we keep seeing Hoilett as a winger. He's a number 10. Best in free role behind goal scoring striker. Hoilett is a Bellamy. Nzonzi n JJ great as two holding mid fielders, both who can swarm forward. Till we started backing off today, we just had too much class for Wolves. We are however a £48m wages team. And should be a lot better than Wolves. £48m is about right for us.

Keep everybody we want to and sign Jones, Sturridge, Bentley and Warnock. We would be transformed.

I've a long list of players who should go but who would have them?

Interestingly Emerton was on a lot of people's to go list------I'll bet you've all changed your minds!

Sorry but SAMBA CAN NOT LEAVE !

Where is the ambition ? Losing Samba shows a complete lack of ambition FFS.

Get rid of the deadwood, including RSC.

Keep Samba and Jones unless someone offers something absurd. 25m plus thanks.

Sign JJ permanently. He likes us. We like him. Sort it out.

Sign Hoilett up long term.

Bring in a few strikers. 2 minimum.

Give Rochina and Formica plenty of time in the preseason.

Get some versatile midfield depth. Larsson a decent place to start.

Bring in someone that can spell Salgado.

Invest in the academy.

Losing Samba does not show a lack of ambition IMO. If Arsenal came in I would feel it very harsh to deny him the opportunity to pit himself against the best.

He's done so much for us. I wouldn't want him held here against his will.

If Defoe is kicking up a fuss about wanting to play more first team football; and Venkys are talking about backing some big money signings.

Then; to me it's a no brainer for us to atleast enquire.

Defoe is past his best. I'd take him on the cheap, but that simply wouldn't happen.
