Michael Owen?

he's of the right quality andcertainly knows where the goal is ... my concern is that he wont play enough games to justify the massive wages he'll want

We should go for Klose. He would be on huge wages and is no long term solution but the lad makes the difference. He would score 20 goals. He has never played abroad and now it´s the last chance to leave.

Miroslav Klose stats

2010/11

Appearances 20 (11 sub) Goals 1

2009/10

Appearances 25 (14 sub) Goals 3

2008/09

Appearances 26 (3 sub) Goals 10

2007/08

Appearances 27 (3 sub) Goals 10

His World Cup record for Germany (many goals which have come against lesser nations) masks what is actually a very average to poor scoring record. There is not a lot if anything to suggest he would arrive and knock in 20 goals.

Got a funny feeling Gareth Barry might be sold by City this summer.

Lib Dem MPs and Twitter users will know what I'm talking about.

I use twitter and haven't a clue what you're talking about......

Never in a million of years would Gael Clichy leave Aresnal, turn down big clubs, just for us. But if we have ambition maybe we could go for José Ángel from Sporting Gijón if Barcelona drop their interest. We could use Míchel Salgado to attract him here.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already but I was mightily impressed with Blackpool's Gary Taylor-Fletcher this year. He's big, strong and knows where the goal is. Hugely unglamorous I know but I wouldn't mind Rovers taking a punt.

It seems Barry and Giggs have more in common than playing in the same city,

Ah gotcha.

For the people laughing at the my sugestions of the two Owens joining us it was upon conditions that we get rid of some of the current dead would.

I know that i would prefer to have a injury prone Owen hargreves than and injury prone grella and hargreves would most probably accept a pay as you play due to the past three years and at the age of 30 you could get a good 2-3 years out of him.

If united paid £17m for him then i would risk him as a free transfer. and if he is on 60k a week but with say 50% of it only if he plays then that would mean we are only laying out 3.2m-8.5m in wages and when you consider any squad player can cost 3m upwards + wages i think its a reasonable risk.

As for Owen he has been fit for a while at Man utd and has showed that he has never lost his ability to finish and a simalar wage structure to other pay as you pays i think it would be a very good player and RSC was paid 90k a week and scored 0 goals and playing a large number of games. where as owen as a bit player for united still scored the odd time

Larsson on a free.

Odemwingie for 8m.

Steven Warnock for 2 million.

Jones for 10m.

Clyde or whatever he's called with the remaining.

Robinson

Salgado/Clyde Samba Jones Warnock

Jones NZonzi

Larsson Hoillett Olsson

Odemwingie

With Formica coming in for Larsson and Hoilett going right wing if Formica is any good.

Experience and good ball retention/crossing down the right, pace and attacking flair down the left. Two holding midfielders to break up play, Formica/Hoillett to create attacks, proven Premier League goal scorer to finish, a solid central partnership to hold it all together at the back, our player of the season (Robinson) in net.

Wonderful.

I wouldn't pay 10M for Jones, physical beast and very quick, but lacks technical ability.

Max 5M as we could get similar for that kind of money.

From what i've heard we're currently ironing out 10million for Jones, so I expect that to happen.

Nicko's suggestion at Christmas of a punt on Shane Long still isn't a bad idea if the price is right.

Whatever happened to Luke Varney? I kinda lost track of him, but he looked really good in the first half of the season

I hope this includes his wages and all agent fees? He's a great player and I've admired his performances, but 10 million for J. Jones is excessive.

Jones has no resale value, partucularly as his game is about energy, that can't last forever, get a good 2 or 3 years out of him then he'll probably be a low value.

Based on this I would expect a bid for 3 to 6 million. 10 is way too much
