Tbh, I cant remember but the name 'Papiss' :blink: springs to mind. Cant remember his club either but a spokesman said we had bid 15m euro, which seems highly unlikely.

If we didn't sign Roque and got rid of Bambi on ice I wouldn't mind seeing Owen here, As natural a goalscorer as they come and fills Venkys need for a 'marque' signing. Another top goalscorer, plus Owen, and then benjani and roberts with Ruben coming through is decent enough.

DGS I believe you are referring to Papiss Cisse, didnt his club say we have bid and then denied it the same day? He had his own thread on here.

Thats the Cisse bloke from freiburg scored a bunch from them in the bundesliga this year. 24 goals in 34 appearances. Sounds decent.

Aged 25 too, so we could get some good service and possible sell on. 15 mill is too much for us though. Maybe his club need cash and went on a fishing trip having heard we had new owners.

It certainly is a lot of money, havent seen the guy play so cant comment. I have seen Demba Ba and at half price providing he owns 2 knees, seems to be a better choice. I wonder if 15m is too much, I have a feeling Venkys are gonna make a splash this summer.

I am led to believe that Lille striker Gervinho is high on the list of Rovers targets. Problem is that possibly bigger clubs will be after him.

I cannot see it happening to be honest. Last I heard he has already made his mind up as to where he wants to go and intends revealing that on return from his holiday. He wants to play in the champions league - but with who.

I agree, if one of the bigger clubs are in for him (Arsenal strongly linked) then we have no chance, but if they are not and Venky's want to pay this guy big wages then we have a chance, especially if the likes of Newcastle and Sunderland are our competition.

If Samba insists on leaving, we should look at Bassong, Dann or Roger Johnson to replace him.

It also says Lansbury may be sold by Arsenal, worth a bid?

I've got doubts about him. Doesn't look any better than we've got imo. Anyway adding more depth to the squad means more of the same.

We don't need numbers , we need 3 or 4 players better than we have now in their respective positions so as to give the whole squad a lift.

If he were not a Kentaro client, would we be bothering?

He's from Liverpool and the opportunity to play for the club he supports would be hard to turn down. I wonder if Liverpool go for Dann they might drop their interest in Jones? I would imagine if they are willing to pay £10m for Dann they would have to pay a lot more for Jones who is younger and for me has far more potential.
