Tyrone Shoelaces Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Gumboots have you seen Larsson play? He is a good player with brilliant delivery. Would be a good addition to our squad. Wouldn't take bowyer though 5m has to be a joke surely That's your opinion. My opinion is he's a plodder who put's a good ball in every now and again and a good tackle in about once a season. Remind you of anybody ? Gumboots is right about him and she's right about Carew as well. Reo-coker , Mm , not sure, but she could be right about him to.

Hi Mack Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 That's your opinion. My opinion is he's a plodder who put's a good ball in every now and again and a good tackle in about once a season. Remind you of anybody ? Gumboots is right about him and she's right about Carew as well. Reo-coker , Mm , not sure, but she could be right about him to. I think Reo-coker would be brilliant in our midfield, hes a tenacious tough tackling midfielder. With him jones and Nzonzi we would look alot more solid!
gumboots Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I think Reo-coker would be brilliant in our midfield, hes a tenacious tough tackling midfielder. With him jones and Nzonzi we would look alot more solid! Was might be more appropriate. Can't recall him being that in recent months/years
Hi Mack Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Was might be more appropriate. Can't recall him being that in recent months/years He was Villa captain for chunks of this season! He looked good tbh....Better than what we've got at the moment!
brfcshabba Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I'm sure not even Kean is silly enough to give away a figure for the budget
roversmum Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 He definitely said, broadcast on Radio Lancashire this afternoon, he was being given £5million, plus what was left over from the January window, and any money from sales. Said we needed two strikers and a midfielder.
Iceman Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 He definitely said, broadcast on Radio Lancashire this afternoon, he was being given £5million, plus what was left over from the January window, and any money from sales. Said we needed two strikers and a midfielder. so if my calculations are right, 50k left from January, 5mill for now and 25 cents for Andrews and Grella.
Kamy100 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I think that it is more than £5 million. Earlier this week Kean said that he had a "very healthy" transfer budget, doubt he would say that about a £5 million transfer budget.
Stevo Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I think that it is more than £5 million. Earlier this week Kean said that he had a "very healthy" transfer budget, doubt he would say that about a £5 million transfer budget. There will be two schools of thought on this now... Those that are backing Kean will argue that he has woken up and realised it would put the club at a disadvantage to be flaunting our dollar to the media. So he is now acting more conservatively so he can be shrewd within the transfer market and avoid being held at ransom. Those that want to see him out of the club asap will argue that he is simply the Venky's spin doctor, following the party line and acting like £5million is a healthy budget to keep himself in the job, and we'll end up with Riordan, Larsson and Santa Cruz as our summer signings. I wonder who'll be right? It'll be thoroughly entertaining seeing everyone argue it out...
chaddyrovers Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 He definitely said, broadcast on Radio Lancashire this afternoon, he was being given £5million, plus what was left over from the January window, and any money from sales. Said we needed two strikers and a midfielder. Roversmum, have you got a link??? I think that it is more than £5 million. Earlier this week Kean said that he had a "very healthy" transfer budget, doubt he would say that about a £5 million transfer budget. I agree with you. Maybe Kean is just saying that to keep prices down. we will just have to wait and see.
4ever&ever Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Telegraph claiming that we are after RVN again, although the quotes taken from Kean don't really appear to mean that. Also reporting that Kean is going to Canada to get Hoillet to sign a new deal.
chaddyrovers Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Nicko story in the Mirror that Demba Ba is available on a free transfer with Newcastle leading the chase http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Newcastle-want-to-land-West-Ham-striker-Demba-Ba-on-free-transfer-as-they-try-to-beat-local-rivals-Sunderland-to-his-signature-article741375.html Rovers should get in their first! would be a great free transfer signing! RVN will go to spain and probably Malage cos they will offer massive wages to him! Too old for rovers, be better off going for Michael Owen!
AJW Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 bosmans and loans, thats all folks!!! ...that is until 1 of the crown jewels are sold then we'll spend a few quid
Steve Moss Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I like the prospect of RVN. I think he can still score goals. I'm not too hot on the possibility of Ba. Extending Hoilett's contract has to be the number 1 priority at the moment, however.
Hughesy Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Ba & Seb Larsson on free's Sturridge on loan with a view to permanent JJ permanent deal
beerwins Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 5 mill pfft, that wont even get us J,Jones. Do we have to rely on the toothfairy for a decent goalscorer? I hope 5 million is wrong because it simply isnt good enough, we need at least one quality striker and Jones.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Nicko story in the Mirror that Demba Ba is available on a free transfer with Newcastle leading the chase http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Newcastle-want-to-land-West-Ham-striker-Demba-Ba-on-free-transfer-as-they-try-to-beat-local-rivals-Sunderland-to-his-signature-article741375.html Rovers should get in their first! would be a great free transfer signing! RVN will go to spain and probably Malage cos they will offer massive wages to him! Too old for rovers, be better off going for Michael Owen! We're not collecting football cards here so we can swap them later on Chaddy. Just explain to me where Owen would play in the 4-5-1 system we will probably have to employ next season.
47er Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 He's no better than what we're already got, in fact I'd play Emerton in the form he's recently been in before I'd play Larrson. Let's not blow this close sason on journeymen. +1 Are we? I don't agree that Santa Cruz & Kalinic are squad players, but I was simply highlighting that we need bodies with all these strikers leaving. And yes, we do need to sign more squad players. That's football. But personally, with Riordan's record, we'd be better off with Blackman. Stop getting your panties in a bunch over one non-story, then. In response: Yes. Thanks for agreeing with me. Pity you always have to get a gratuitous insult in every time.
Backroom Tom Posted May 27, 2011 Backroom Posted May 27, 2011 bosmans and loans, thats all folks!!! ...that is until 1 of the crown jewels are sold then we'll spend a few quid This seems familiar somehow!
Roberto Policano Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I am led to believe that Lille striker Gervinho is high on the list of Rovers targets. Problem is that possibly bigger clubs will be after him. Love Gervinho, but agree no chance of deal. Derek Riordan according to skysports http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6954557,00.html Surely your manager doesn't have a death wish?. 5m has to be a joke surely Not a very funny one!. Nicko says same as LET Hoilett deal and RVN Personally cannot understand the attraction of RVN,Guy is past if for me.Only wants £80,000 a week too. Nicko story in the Mirror that Demba Ba is available on a free transfer with Newcastle leading the chase http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Newcastle-want-to-land-West-Ham-striker-Demba-Ba-on-free-transfer-as-they-try-to-beat-local-rivals-Sunderland-to-his-signature-article741375.html Rovers should get in their first! would be a great free transfer signing! RVN will go to spain and probably Malage cos they will offer massive wages to him! Too old for rovers, be better off going for Michael Owen! For me Ba should be your number 1 target, especially for free.
Amo Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Pity you always have to get a gratuitous insult in every time. You're overreacting -- again!
mattyc2422 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 He definitely said, broadcast on Radio Lancashire this afternoon, he was being given £5million, plus what was left over from the January window, and any money from sales. Said we needed two strikers and a midfielder. Crikey - I can't see that cutting it. If we cut the deadwood that we need to cut, we are going to need to spend at least a few million in expanding our depth.
47er Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Nicko says same as LET Hoilett deal and RVN Hm.....when he says "we need 2 strikers and a midfielder"-----I assume the mid-fielder will be Jones? I'd say we need two mid-fielders, 2 strikers and a left-back. Is this transfer window is going to live up to the hype? Or is it business as usual then? And before anyone says it------"yes it would have been worse under the Trust."
