ultrablue Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I've just been listening to last weekend's Fighting Talk on the podcast. When the panelists were asked who sport's greatest Colin is, one answered Blackburn and Scotland's Colin Hendry. It got me wondering how many Scots have actually won the Premier League? Hendry and Darren Fletcher are the only two players that spring to mind. There has to be more than that right?

Spansterkid Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Does Kevin Gallacher's goal against Palace not get him included? Edit: beat me to it!
mark1875 Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 what about Andy Goram? didnt he have a spell at manchester united
T4E Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 would kevin gallacher not count too? Not according to wiki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_football_players_with_a_Premier_League_winner%27s_medal
mark1875 Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 oh didn't realise we were going on medals, gally was injured with his broken leg most of that season, i still see him as a premier winner despite not getting a medal.
True Blue & White Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Was making this thread more complicated than using Wikipedia? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_football_players_with_a_Premier_League_winner's_medal Anyway according to that only four Scottish players have a medal, Hendry, Fletcher, McClaire and Darren Ferguson. Kevin Gallagher broke his legs for our Championship season so didn't pick one up. Whilst we're at it, 59 English players have a medal, 3 Welshmen (Giggs, Hughes and Blackmore), 2 Northern Irish (Roy Carrol & Johnny Evans) and 4 Irishmen (Irwin, Roy Keane, O'Shea, Duff). And finally, after Englishmen, the French players have the most EPL winners medals with 20 players.
ultrablue Posted February 24, 2011 Author Posted February 24, 2011 Was spelling Brian McClair's name harder than using Wikipedia? The fun lies in using wracking your brains, not in cheating.
