Plastic Head Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Well there's one obvious positive. But big changes again, the guy really hasn't got a clue.
Bobby G Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Roberts and Diouf!? This guy is a clown. He basically removes Diouf from the picture for over a month then throws him back in. Cant make the thinking behind it. 3 strikers on the bench again. Whats the point? I hope its a flat 4 in midfield and not that diamond which has shredded us to pieces.
Iceman Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Kalinic, RSC and Rochina on the bench. what an idiot, and again we are having a different strike force. NO STABILITY!
Darwen Rover Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Hopefully hoilett and olsson will be on the wings... no idea why kalinic isnt playing
Amo Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 + Olsson & Hoilett on the wings. + Andrews dropped + Pedersen dropped - Kalinic dropped - Roberts starting
JWUpper Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I know Roberts and new Diouf up top aren't the best options, but what if we're going 4 - 5 -1 with Hoilett in the hole behind JR and Diouf & Olsson on the wings, with the option to revert to 4 - 4 -2 as needed?
Ricky Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Happy with the line up. Would have swapped niko for Roberts. But I've not seen them all week in training, kean has.
OsloRover Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 But big changes again, the guy really hasn't got a clue. Would you rather we kept the same team that capitulated at Villa?
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Kalinic on the bench FFS. Can't believe we are going into a game we badly need to win and we have put that ###### awful player Roberts up front. Imagine if we get one chance all game to get the win, does anyone have confidence in Roberts putting that chance away?
Exiled in Toronto Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Personally I think there's not too much wrong with that line up. The players dropped were all cack at Villa - there have to be consequences for that kind of non-performance. I'm no great fan of Roberts, but he has th experience of these games, indeed scored a late winner there 2 years ago in a turning point game. And there is something on the bench to bring on if we need to go for it.
neophox Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 It looks like the team against Liverpool (3-1) instead of three changes, Hanley, Roberts and Nzonzi plays today instead of Nelsen, Benjani and Dunn. But the formation looks like that game.
Bobby G Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Looks like a team set up to play for a draw if i ever saw one, i fear the worst To be fair no Rovers side will ever be set up for a draw as much as last week Vs Villa with 3 defensive midfielders in that line-up.
DanLad Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Pleased to see Junior and Olson on the wings. Pleased with the absence of Andrews. I'd play Diouff ahead of Roberts. Roberts is, at best, an impact sub. Diouff has pace and is more likely to do something, IMHO. If RSC is fit he needs to start. Leads the line better than all our other options.
BPF Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I'm surprised people are happy with the lineup considering that we have two championship quality strikers up front.
Hekla Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 It is astounding to see Niko on the bench again, Roberts isn't a good striker and Diouf is only a good player when his head is in gear. I don't understand Kean's thinking at all, you can't make six changes each week and expect victories.
Roversi Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Team: Robinson, Salgado, Samba, Hanley, Givet, Holiett, J.Jones, Nzonzi, Olsson, Diouf, Roberts
Mercer Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Apart from Niko missing out, possibly the best available 11 - RSC clearly, again, not fit. No Grella !!! Injured again ??? At least we have some pace and penetration out wide and up front.
Dunnfc Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Just a quick one i like the striking line up... JR has 3 goals in seven starts this season. Mame is our best striker just a copy of JR's finishing... Battlers up front thats what we need against the likes of Hangeland and co...
budha Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I'm surprised people are happy with the lineup considering that we have two championship quality strikers up front. To be fair, if RSC and Kalinic would have started up front, people would've still found something to whine about.
Amo Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I'm surprised people are happy with the lineup considering that we have two championship quality strikers up front. Out of curiosity, who would you play? Because we know you don't rate Kalinic.
alexanders Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 + Olsson & Hoilett on the wings. + Andrews dropped + Pedersen dropped - Kalinic dropped - Roberts starting 100% agere.
OsloRover Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 No Grella !!! Injured again ??? "Vince Grella picked up a knock in training" according to official site. He would pick up a knock getting out of bed that one.
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Personally I think there's not too much wrong with that line up. The players dropped were all cack at Villa - there have to be consequences for that kind of non-performance. I'm no great fan of Roberts, but he has th experience of these games, indeed scored a late winner there 2 years ago in a turning point game. And there is something on the bench to bring on if we need to go for it. Kalinic was cack? He was our best striker, the guy has been scoring goals and he needs a run in the team.
Roversi Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Not a bad side, you can see what kean is going for. he knows fulham will have the majority of possession and the team shows he is aiming for a smash and grab, pace on the wings and up front, counter attacking football. roberts and diouf will have to take thier chances in this game otherwise.....
