The funny thing is (well actually it is not funny) that if the new owners had bothered to listen to John then their reputation would most likely have been enhanced and the club would most likely not be in the precarious position that it currently is.

When Venky’s bought the club, John was one of their biggest assets, he would’ve made sure that the first few years of their ownership would have been stable and the transition from being owned by the trust to Venky’s would be smooth. When any business is taken over there is always change, I accept that but a football club is no ordinary business, so when you have someone who is highly professional and respect throughout the game you make damn well sure that you do everything to keep hold of him. Venky’s seem to have done the opposite and left John with no choice other than to step down.

I fear that amongst the many mistakes that they have made this is the biggest one and it could have very serious consequences further down the line.

John can walk away from this with his head held high, even now his only wish is that Rovers maintain their Premier League status. He will go down as a club legend and a true blue and white.

Indeed, despite the way we feel about Kean, how he got the job, the results and his inability to change things round, I do feel Venkys/Rao family, should take a long hard look at JWs background, reputation and respect from not only everyone at Rovers but throughout the footballing world, a truly awful decision, maybe if they had listened we would now be in a very healthy league position, with a proper manager and chairman looking after our club.

He should still be here.

The Rao family have made a lot of mistakes, but sacking JW is IMO the worst by far. Hope John gets on with enjoying life however he sees fit, he was a fantastic guardian and servant to the club during some very difficult times and will be missed more than any player or manager could be.

I think it exemplifies the man to a tee. A real gentleman with true feelings for a club and its supporters but more importantly, a man with genuine respect for what and who he is and who was simply a chairman we couldnt be anything other than proud of.

Venkys and whoever dropped a bollock big time by removing him from Ewood.

SK was on weekend telly bragging that when JW instructed him to proceed on a match by match basis he ignored this advice and instead jumped on a plane to India to see the Venkey mob personally.

imo and maybe putting 2+2 together to make 4.1 Steve Kean prob under instruction from his mentor usurped Williams and precipitated his demise by flying half way around the world to meet the Venkeys without telling or consulting with his immediate superior. Was he alone I wonder or might he have had a certain travelling companion?

A big positive spin was put on it at the time to set him up as his own man and a hungry driven individual, but who told him to follow that course of action I wonder? <_< Whatever did happen it effectively isolated and neutered JW and as a direct consequence ended his position at the club.

And that's the main point Kamy, why in gods name did they choose to ignore a man who knew so much about the structure of the club and its fan base, the decision made NO sense whatsoever...will we ever know the truth?

You should still be here at Ewood John, thank you and best wishes. :brfc:

Think his name may be Jerome...

The best chairman in the League by a long way, and a true gent too.

Would be intrigued to hear Kean's answers to these questions.

A gift from us would be a great idea. Just tell me how much you want me to contribute and where to send it to and I would gladly oblige.

We desperately need his wisdom and authority in the predicament we now find ourselves in.

Awful decisions by the Rao family to let one of the best people in football go like that.

Philip, If I land the Euromillions, I intend to buy the club and reinstate him immediately.
