Mercer Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 From today's speculation, there's something that doesn't stack-up to me. Mrs D. and the brothers are not supposed to be the types who like being told what to do - it's do as I say. Mr Kean has, allegedly, been presented with two options that don't meet with his approval. If our owners are like we are given to believe, it's difficult to understand why the little upstart has not therefore been ejected from the post without his feet touching the ground. Strange and puzzling.

tashor Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Sorry but what are you on about? None of your posts seem to make sense other than some sort of dig at someone you disagree with. Anyway, I think Kean will hang on until the end for the reasons Roversider mentioned a few posts ago. Hey, you. You know all that money you pay every week? I get that you know? Right..........I'm getting pished off by all this...... I went back to the Steve Kean thread to display the porno fleurked up t'rse posts by BPF but as the thread has been blocked I cannot resurrect them....... BNP in several posts boasts of how much and at what odds he has bet on Kean being sacked..... When he finds out this is not imminent he tells us to get down to Ewood to shout the guy out...... As this has not happened he has exploited his standing on the board to incite us to get Kean out...... How much does BNP stand to make in all this?? Have any of you heard of ramping........... Can we trust him as much as Nicko?? When is this forum going to be a simple forum for Rovers fans who only care about our club
Fylde Coast Fan Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Fire him IF you can find someone good enough to bail us out willing to take us on. That'll probably mean serious wallet-opening in the summer as a condition. If it's fire Kean and give the job to John Jensen, then back him. Blackpool at home is MUST WIN, no excuses, with or without Kean. I fear if we hold off and sack him after a defeat there, it'll already be too late.
BPF Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Right..........I'm getting pished off by all this...... Can we trust him as much as Nicko?? When is this forum going to be a simple forum for Rovers fans who only care about our club I do only care about the club, as I have for 22 years. I've wanted rid of Kean for weeks. I heard that Mrs Desai had called him after the Villa game, FURIOUS. As I have bills to pay, putting a bet on it seemed like a logical idea? If he is gone tomorrow i'll be happier about the future of our club over one months mortgage being paid...

DavidMailsTightPerm Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Can we trust him as much as Nicko?? Has anyone heard from Nicko recently - I would be interested on his take on current events - especially as he was a supporter of Steve Kean.
Mercer Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 LT: Monday 28 Feb. BLACKBURN Rovers boss Steve Kean has vowed to carry out a forensic study of Saturday’s 4-1 loss at Aston Villa to avoid a repeat of the defensive errors that cost them any hope of a result. In Rovers’ first away game since they were criticised for being too open in a 4-3 loss at Wigan, Kean opted for a change of tactics at Villa Park with a 4-5-1 formation designed primarily to keep a clean sheet. But, after keeping Villa out for 49 minutes, they then conceded four goals to slide to their fifth defeat at the West Midlands ground in the last two seasons. Rovers return to action with another away game at Fulham at the weekend and Kean will analyse the video of the Villa defeat in minute detail to prevent the same mistakes from being made. “We have to rip the game to bits, analyse it inside out and hopefully set a plan that makes sure that we nullify Fulham as best we can in our next away game and gets us more chances in front of goal,” he said. “We’ll be working hard every single day this week to make sure we put it right against Fulham. “We mentioned to the lads that the focus was on the clean sheet but if you do concede a goal you make sure that for the next five or 10 minutes you don’t concede another one. "That was disappointing. “The gameplan was to make sure that we tried to deal with Ashley Young, who plays off the front. Hmmm - dread to think what the damage would have been at Fulham if if our manager had not worked so hard or been such a thinker. Was the gameplan to deal with Damien Duff ? IMO, just more bullsh1t and why change is needed.

I firmly believe that such a poultry sum would not turn BPF into a turncoat. His information is generally correct and his joy at the news of the takeover has given way to dispair.
neekoy Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Really wanted to see this through but we can't go on like this, he has to go.
Drunx2002 Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I voted "back" for the reasons already stated by Roversider etc: no alternative and unnecessary disruption at a critical stage of the season. That's my opinion, I'm not bothered if people don't agree. No manager will want to come to us. Venkys have no-one to advise them on who to appoint even if they do sack Kean, so they might as well pick a name out of a hat. There's also no point in splurging more money to pay off Kean's contract. We need stability in the team, and a shored up defence. Obviously this hasn't been helped by Nelsen and now Givet's red cards, so again we'll have a make-shift defence against Blackpool that will need to be protected in midfield. If Phil Jones is passed fit it's a huge boost for us. The only thing that we as fans can do now is support the team unreservedly for the next 9 games. Venkys aren't going to pay any attention to fan protests/petitions or hounding out the manager, so it is pointless and counter productive. It's still a game of 11 vs 11 , and if our 11 are already distracted by the crazy last few months, odd tactics from the manager and then get booed by us, do you honestly think that's going to help? If the rumours are true and their relegation clauses have been removed then lets remind them that there are still people at Rovers worth busting their guts for....the SUPPORTERS!
bigbrandjohn Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Kean in the Chicken Soup ? http://www.football.co.uk/coventry_city/kean_in_danger_at_blackburn__rss1611465.shtml
BangkokRover Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Nice to see people explaining why they are backing the manager and long may the sensible discussion continue. No mater what people have voted lets get being the players and show them that they are not alone. Having said that I hope Kean is replaced as soon as this season finishes. The players will then go away on their breaks and a new manager can be appointed. I also think it makes sense to have a Rovers ex player in the back room staff to give the fans some a buy in to the new management team. Henning Berg would be my choice maybe some of our Scandinavian members can fill me on how Henning is getting on as a coach/manager? Getting Tugay back at the club would be a great move as well very well like by the fans and if he teach the youngsters to pass like he could we are on to a winner. So if they want a Mananger who can hit the ground running and has his own solid back room team then Martin O'Neil is the man. If they want a younger manager and more media friendly then Gus Poyet of Brighton would be my first choice.
folkdevil Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Seems a sensible idea.Who would you want? http://tinyurl.com/6d9n3ty

BangkokRover Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Seems a sensible idea.Who would you want? http://tinyurl.com/6d9n3ty What a load of rubbish, why on earth would any manager want Kean in his backroom staff?
RoversSG Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 The problem with keeping Kean is that i think he has lost the confidence of the fans and arguably the players. In a relegation battle, the most important thing is that everyone pulls together in the same direction and sadly i don't see that happening with Kean. Having said that though, i'm not sure who would be a good alternative (other than big sam which is as likely as Keith winning the golden ball at the world cup) so perhaps we should only sack him in the summer and hope that we can grind out 3 more wins in our remaining games....

What you have described would be the best way to solve this. BUT at the end of the season who would you like?
Kamy100 Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 This morning's LT reports that Venky's back Kean, a spokesman has told them that Kean retains their support, the rumours are not true and that Mrs Desai was not in London over the weekend. The LT tried to talk directly to the owned but they were not available for comment.
tcj_jones Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 What you have described would be the best way to solve this. BUT at the end of the season who would you like? If Norwich fail to get promoted and we stay up, then Paul Lambert.
BangkokRover Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 If Norwich fail to get promoted and we stay up, then Paul Lambert. Who are Paul Lamberts back room staff. The reason I ask is part of BFS and Hughes success was there strong back room staff.
Iceman Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Ffs man, are these owners so bloody stupid? He deserves to be sacked, and he should go immediately. I'm getting really upset with this now. As hard as I'm trying, I'm losing my patience now.
S15 Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 As hard as I'm trying, I'm losing my patience now. What happens when your patience runs out? If we lose to Blackpool, which I expect we will, it's going to be curtains. The result would probably be the end for Kean, but who in their right mind would take over that ship? I can only foresee another internal appointment, the most likely being John Jensen. The most romantic scenario is that of Tony Parkes stepping in to save us again, but unfortunately I doubt the Rao's even know who he is, let alone his history in saving us from his Caretaker Manager role. Also, it's been over a decade since Tony Parkes has done the job, so there are no guarantees in going with him. However, by all accounts I believe he was an integral part in Simon Grayson's initial success as a manager at Blackpool. Unless the Rao's can pull of a major coup by getting an established manager to take over the Titanic, Tony Parkes would get my vote.
Rovers Gals Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 after recording game and watching it admittedly we played better. my point regarding kean is clear to see - his postmatch speech was awkward to watch , stammered and if he was my manager I'd think , yeh nice guy but nervous and out of his depth . he probably doing his best to his abilities but there's a lot at stake / money loss etc by him taking and failing a job behind his capabilities ! simple as that . businesses close down on wrong managers / descisions . am I right to think Blackburn is mortgaged so to speak by venkys and can the keys be handed back if they decide they made mistake ? I feel they worse than Ashley at knowledge of game snd if a family buys a club why arnt they watching live games ?! it's not a board game like monopoly that you get out and play few timed a year on family occasions ! it doesn't add up to me ,actions speak louder than words in my philosophy .
RoversSG Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 What you have described would be the best way to solve this. BUT at the end of the season who would you like? Well, my first choice would be Martin Jol but i don't think he's suitable for a relegation battle so it might be better to approach him in the summer. I don't think he'll be interested in joining us at the moment too. In the summer, he'll have the entire pre-season to get in new faces and he can then mold the squad into his style then.
philipl Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I can see no ringing endorsements for Kean. Just resignation that it is too late for change and no safe alternative. From my perspective, the guy is just incapable of turning this around. If he is continuing, I am again left hoping I am completely wrong.
