He started off his career with successful stints at Limerick, Preston and Blackpool.

To be fair he was sacked at Blackpool, so suggests it was not a "successfull stint" as he was at Notts County.

There's this thing called the internet where you can find things out in about 30 seconds.

You should try it sometime.

The internet you say? I've been viewing this site on teletext.

Well they missed promotion by one point so Oyston sacked him.

From Wikipedia:

Allardyce's spell at Bloomfield Road included his leading the club, in 1995–96, to their most successful season in years; however, he was sacked (by chairman Owen Oyston from his prison cell)[10] on 29 May 1996, at the end of the campaign, after failing to guide them to Division One. Blackpool finished third, missing out on automatic promotion on the last day of the season, and were then beaten in the play-off semi-finals by Bradford City after winning 2–0 away at Valley Parade, only to lose 3–0 in the reverse leg on home soil.[11] In matches in the Football League, Allardyce still has the highest win percentage (44.57%) of any Blackpool manager.[12] Five years after his sacking, Allardyce stated that he still had no idea why the club relieved him of his position.[13] "We had missed promotion to the First Division by a point," Allardyce told the Daily Mail. "Yet it had all been done on next-to-nothing, and during the months leading towards the end of the season, I hardly ever saw Owen Oyston. But he always assured me that, no matter what, my job would be safe. I turned up for that meeting having been told it was to discuss new terms. Instead, I was told that I was being sacked. It was cold, calculated, pre-planned, whatever. I walked out of there with ₤10,000, no job, and desperately worried that my reputation would be damaged forever."[14] Allardyce then had a brief spell as a coaching staff under Peter Reid at Sunderland A.F.C..[15]

Heard some weird and not so wonderful speculation about Kean's management today.

If correct, and we lose badly on Saturday, the whole thing, IMO, could implode.

I can't recall such collective disrespect for any Rovers' manager, and I go back 20 managers or so to the days of 'Jolly Jack' Marshall.

Based on a 'straw poll' today, season ticket sales will plummet next season if Kean remains in charge.

I know this is probably nothing new but reflects a sign of the times!

Here we go again...

One day, you will have the guts to turn-up to my invitation for a pint at an away match.

Until then, get a life, stop stalking me and stop hiding behind your laptop

I've stopped getting my hopes up about Kean getting sacked - seems he's virtually untouchable, but I'd like to think that if we continued the woeful form we've shown under Kean, Venky's would see sense sooner rather than later.

That said, nothing would be better than a win on Saturday, regardless of who wears the ill-fitting suit in the dugout.

Sh*t scared imbecile Mercerman?? How charming.

I think not..didn't realise we were involved in a knuckle dragging dick swinging contest.

You seem to get your knickers in a twist whenever I post something directed at you which, btw, happens infrequently.

In reality, several posters have suggested you exhibit dingle like tendencies as you well know.

YD - I never know whether to laugh or cry when I read your posts !

FFS, why would a Dingle go to so many Rovers' matches both home and away !?!?!

Unless I'm paranoid, I always seem to be one of the targets of your shrill abuse!

For what it's worth I do doubt you're actually a dingle..maybe you should try laughing now and again though.I'd really like to see a bit more positivity in your posts.I know we're in a bind but surely we need to focus on some positive energy now and again?

To be fair; if you stop spouting the same old rubbish he'll probably stop stalking you.

To be fair, all he is trying to do is share some inforamtion he has been made aware of. Is the inforamtion complete fact? We dont know. But he is letting us know what he has been told and expressing his views in a coherent manner. Thats what a messageboard is all about.

Yep. Just like last week. Why pander to it?

I could post any old Very Good in a nice coherent manner. It's still Very Good.

[EDIT] The "very good" was actually an adult term for both of your testicles.

Your right, why pander to it? But also, why attack it? Why not say to yourself "Thats obviously a load of 'Very Good'. Seeing as he annoys me so, I'll put him on ignore"

Because other people aren't so savvy and just believe what they read. It's all to easy to create negativity around a club which is unnecessary. There are enough things surrounding the club to be unsure and a little uneasy about to spout complete, made up bullsh!t.

Ofc this is just a rumour i heard, can't say my sources.

Ok so if they sacked Kean, who would the owners bring in to replace him? who could you bring in to boost Season ticket sales next season? it would have to be a Big Name manager and would they come to Blackburn Rovers probably not! so you have to go and get the best man you can! And the owners must have a shortlist of manager targets and not just the one like last time

No, he's conducting a witch hunt. Mercerman and a couple of others on here are the ones responsible for generating a lynch mob mentality. I don't think I've ever seen such ill feeling and such a divided board in all my time on here and in my opinion it aint healthy. I also suspect MM is not a genuine Rovers fan, but a fan from a club not a million miles away from here.

Please don’t quote him, I don’t want to read his drivel, which is backed up by a bit of Rovers history on most posts, which tells its own story ;)
