RevidgeBlue Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I have totally mixed feelings whether it is best to get rid of Kean. Personally I think the time went prior to the Blackpool match - when there was enough of a break. Considering Everton's recent form - and us being away from home a defeat shouldn't have been too much of a surprise - but it all adds to the mounting evidence against him. Unless they can pull a real rabbit out of the bag as a replacement (as Rev mentioned O'Neil) I think the impact on squad morale of sacking Kean would be too much of a risk. As much as I respect the opinion of other people - chants against Kean aren't going to help the club or the morale of the players. The only thing that will safe us is a siege mentallity amongst the players and supporters - and a little bit of luck. Somehow we have to address our away form - at this moment in time, it is likely that the games away from home at West Ham and Wolves will seal our future. Excellent post. The bit highlighted could work one of two ways. If he is still popular with the players, then sacking him might make things even worse. If however he has lost the dressing room already, it might spark an improvement. Can't say I'd seen any real signs the players weren't playing for him prior to yesterday. Unless Kean/Jensen are sacked, they will be the ones addressing our away form. Does that give you any confidence? Our appalling away form under successive managers was always going to provide a problem if it didn't improve. We were bound to have a downturn in results of home at some stage.

Mattyblue Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 How could things be worse Rev? Worst run in 25 years. Downturn in home form? We have won ZERO against Newcadtle, Blackpool, West Ham, Stoke, Birmingham- just one win would have us so much safer. That's due to an incompetent manager, nowt to do with the law of averages saying our home form should suddenly fall off a cliff.
ABBEY Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 just testing to see if im still under suspension lol....did you see his comments in the mirror today...."our home form is excellent".
imy9 Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Yes I read that and all the others.I also remember you saying till quite recently that Kean deserved a chance-----he didn't. And you've wanted him out since Fulham?-----wow,you're quick. Most were on to him well before that. Anyway, after you and Cruz he's got nobody left except the Venkys, so time to comment on them again! Your memory is playing tricks on you again old chap, 'quite recently' three weeks ago WE had a conversation about Kean in which I said that he did not have my support- do check. In my book thats giving someone a chance, I'm not a sheep... Finally you now have something in bold to refer to next time your memory is playing tricks on you again.
BPF Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Please, someone give us some hope that Venkys are at least annoyed about this situation! We are a written off investment. Unless we manage to survive under the current management regime. No more pennies will be spent.
my_name_is_Earl Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Can't say I'd seen any real signs the players weren't playing for him prior to yesterday. But were they really playing for him or for the fans? Quite difficult to judge until the post-mortem.
Balwer Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 just testing to see if im still under suspension lol....did you see his comments in the mirror today...."our home form is excellent". he must have been misquoted, "comparatively excellent to our dire away results" seems more appropriate.
chaddyrovers Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 We are a written off investment. Unless we manage to survive under the current management regime. No more pennies will be spent. so basically they do not care less about the football club? and they do not understand what they were getting themselves into when buying a football club. I really hope that they sell us in the summer to someone who cares about the club and the fans. I just want my club back NOW!!! kean out! owners out!
broadsword Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I just want my club back NOW!!! Don't we bloody all!
RevidgeBlue Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 We are a written off investment. Unless we manage to survive under the current management regime. No more pennies will be spent. Arguably that's a slight improvement on the position under the previous owners when there would be no more pennies spent regardless of our status.
Mattyblue Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Bloody hell Rev, you're dislike of the Trust knows no bounds. You honestly believe that if what BPF says is true, we are better off with Venky's?
67splitscreen Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 We are a written off investment. Unless we manage to survive under the current management regime. No more pennies will be spent. I hope there is no substance to your comment, that is a very scary scenario and in complete contrast to what the Raos said two weeks ago, not that I particularly believe a word that comes out of their mouths.
roverwhelmed Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 so basically they do not care less about the football club? and they do not understand what they were getting themselves into when buying a football club. I really hope that they sell us in the summer to someone who cares about the club and the fans. I just want my club back NOW!!! kean out! owners out! Totally agreed. I'm just hoping that the Walkers won't be able to stand to see us fold if they try to asset strip and step in, reinstate JW or someone with some understanding of what they're doing. The club as we knew it is gone, and I feel strangely detached from what stands in its place currently. Heartbroken. I hope there is no substance to your comment, that is a very scary scenario and in complete contrast to what the Raos said two weeks ago, not that I particularly believe a word that comes out of their mouths. Their comments about owning us forever scares me immensely. No thank you.
Silencio Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Arguably that's a slight improvement on the position under the previous owners when there would be no more pennies spent regardless of our status. Didn't like Allardyce. Thinks Venky's are better than the Trust. Didn't like John Williams. What planet is RevidgeBlue on?

You've been spouting crap for months--much of it in bold. The fact is, Kean had your support and that of others for too long. You obviously have to distance yourself from all that now given the s*** he's dropped us in.

Ah the troll is back. 1) Not true. Didn't like his style of football. 2) Well that remains to be seen on what happens over a period of time, not just several months doesn't it. 3) Not true.
Ben-2000 Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 So basically its us the fans that need to grab the bull by the horns... get behind the lads for 90mins, let them know we are 100% behind them - that will do wonders compared to a negative atmosphere. If Venky's don't give a toss, WE DO! We've followed Rovers for years, it's our club, let's do our bit!
RevidgeBlue Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Sorry mate, you are not for real!! Unlike you who has hardly made a post for months which hasn't involved slagging the owners off.

If Venky's don't give a toss, WE DO! We've followed Rovers for years, it's our club, let's do our bit! Absolutely, we need to be singing and creating a party atmosphere even if we feel like c**p inside. It is seemingly all we can do to help our cause.
BPF Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I hope there is no substance to your comment, that is a very scary scenario and in complete contrast to what the Raos said two weeks ago, not that I particularly believe a word that comes out of their mouths. "We will keep the current management team in place." "We are happy with John Williams." "We are not interested in Brazilian Ronnie, Yes we are, No we are not, yes we are." and so on.... They simply do not have the finances to mount a comeback to the Premiership. Don't forget they were planning to spend £5m a transfer window at the most to get us into the Champions League. Do you really think that they are going to invest huge sums to get us promoted and then invest again to get us into the European spots again? They don't have the capital. The Walker family could buy and sell Venkys in a heartbeat, they simply do not have the cash. You have to think about all this logically, Blackburn Rovers are an investment to them and nothing else, they do not feel anything for the club, we are a plaything to get the Venkys name about. Championship games are not shown all over the world like Premier League games are. Having a club in the Championship has no benefit for them whatsoever. Kean is still in a job for the same reason that we currently don't have a chairman, pennies. On this board I have often heard 'Venkys are shrewd business people, surely.' I believe they are, they realise that they were duped into an investment that was far bigger than they could handle and through poor advice made it even more difficult for themselves. However, they can be pleased that many people in the West who had never heard of them, now know exactly who they are. Using their shrewd business acumen they are now doing what most worried investors would do, in that they are seeing how it pans out. They surely do not want to spend another penny until they are aware of the club's future. It makes perfect sense from a business perspective, particularly if they have already cleared the money spent so far as potential loss. This is the way that I see the current situation. I also believe that Venkys are being told 'Don't worry, they'll survive, say what you like." This allows them to talk freely about the future. Anyway, believe me or not that is my opinion of the current situation.

Didn't like his style of football. 2) Well that remains to be seen on what happens over a period of time, not just several months doesn't it. 3) Not true. 1: You were on here saying that you were pleased Allardyce had gone when he was fired. 2: Not when the first 5 months have been spent ripping the club apart. 3: You have often given Williams digs on here.
Amo Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 You've been spouting crap for months--much of it in bold. The fact is, Kean had your support and that of others for too long. You obviously have to distance yourself from all that now given the s*** he's dropped us in. Nothing wrong with giving Kean a chance. Aren't fans supposed to back their manager? Unlike some, who got their kicks in early for bragging rights, because *shock horror* an inexperienced manager wasn't up to the job.
BPF Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 BPF's dislike of the Venky's seems to know no bounds either. If we go down and Venky's don't back us it will be a scary scenario. I'm quite certain if we'd gone down under the Trust they wouldn't have backed us either. A lose lose situation. Hello Rev. Your first sentence was cast in truthful stone Sir. Your third sentence is the one I object to. There was money going to be made available by the Trust if the takeover did not go through, I know that for a fact as do many people on here. Few people are going to spend five million on a business on the verge of a sale. However considering that I've heard several times that not were there some disagreements over selling to Venkys and that they never met them before the club was sold, I'm not too happy with the Trust either. If that is true, of course.
