roversmum Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I since edited my post, Kamy, to ask if there is anything else any of us can do to help the situation - you may have missed that.

A cup of beans Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 i may be a lone voice. But im prepared to give venkys time to deliver their promises. how long have they had to invest in new players etc... 1 window. maybe they have taken some bad advice... they have put there trust in people and that is their only mistake. but to discredit and allienate them will only mean that rovers will suffer.
onlyonejackwalker Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 (SHAKING MY HEAD). protests are senseless particularly before an important game. stop getting your kicks from this situation. another clown Shaking my head also. Kicks? Far from it, most fans just realise that unless something changes, then nothing will change and we don't want to GO DOWN WITHOUT A WHIMPER. Whilst I would never protest before any game, I fully understand how desperate and concerned fans have become, as I have had those feelings for weeks now, ever since the Wigan debacle. Remove Kean. Unite the club. Last chance saloon.

It was very clear early on these guys are decent people but sadly dumb a s***. Kean was a huge mistake and promsing a job for life even more nuts.
Kamy100 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I since edited my post, Kamy, to ask if there is anything else any of us can do to help the situation - you may have missed that. Thanks, I will let you and others know. To be honest I don't know what else can be done, Star are doing the story but want to do it their own way (which is right as this way there is no one exterting influence one way or the other). Other than that as far as Venky's PR are concerned it is business as usual and Kean retains the 100% support of the owners.
47er Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Its the 1st Round of the FA Cup today and the BBC will,of course, be covering every game. Over to our man at Pleasington Park, Reg ######. Can you hear me Reg? "Certainly can Campbell. Well its that big day for the little clubs when men dare to dream of the impossible and the improbable often happens. Nowhere is the dream bigger than here at Pleasington where Blackburn Rovers AFC hope to do the unthinkable and see off local giants Accrington Stanley.1500 fans are already packed into this picturesque little ground and I can definitely say its standing room only. Manager Steve Kean was ebullient about his side's chances when we spoke with him earlier today": You know Reg, there's enormous belief in my players. We know we can do it. They've been exceptional in training, we've had 2 days training together on the beach at Southport, courtesy of our wonderfully supportive owners who have a great plan for the future and we are really looking to cause an upset. We don't just want a result, we want to show the big boys we can play the beautiful game too. We want to win of course but we intend to do it the right way. So there you have it Campbell, great confidence from manager Kean despite his side's woeful run in the Lower Darwen Hargreaves's Pet Shop League of late." Back to you in the studio Campbell. Is this our future?!
davulsukur Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Is this protest actually going ahead? It would gain decent coverage as the game is live on sky, surely they would put plenty of coverage on?

sambo Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Thinking of making a Kean out banner for the City game, maybe if we lose or we're losing heavily. Considering it, but don't want to get grief off people for doing it, will I be the only one?
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 As long as the protest isn't a anti Venky's one and we don't see some of those pathetic racist chants I would be in favor of there being a protest against Kean and the situation we are in. Kean and the players have been backed 100% by the fans in this relegation battle so far and it clearly hasn't had any effect whatsoever in turning our fortunes around. Personally I think there should have been a real protest against Kean after the Fulham game, it was clear from then that he did not have a clue what he was doing.
Sandiway Blue Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 ive a few questions for you and anyone else who wants to protest. how long have you supported rovers? have you seen them through dark times before ? 35 years and counting.... do you go to home and away games ? all home games and try to take in a couple of away games too finances dictate whether i go or not. who would you appoint as manager ? i would swallow humble pie and bring back Sam with a lucrative bonus if we stay up what do you think a protest will achieve. Make the owners listen or make Kean realise what the feeling is towards him (if he doesn`t know already!) if you want our owners out... who do you think will buy us and invest for the future ? Nothing wrong with the owners that a bit more dialogue with supporters and better advisors wouldn`t sort out all questions are honest and not designed to trip anyone up etc... I personally think a protest BEFORE the game would be wrong. However AFTER the game let them have both barrels!
LeChuck Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 i may be a lone voice. I'm with you 100%. They've completely messed up because they don't know what they're doing. However I believe their intentions are good. They want success, as do we. They need to start setting things right by appointing Kean and getting a proper manager in. If they do that a lot of the rest should sort itself out.
sambo Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 ive a few questions for you and anyone else who wants to protest. how long have you supported rovers? have you seen them through dark times before ? ONLY 19 BUT ALL MY LIFE! do you go to home and away games ? GO TO UNIVERSITY IN CARDIFF BUT COME BACK FOR MOST HOME GAMES AND A GOOD CHUNK OF THE AWAY GAMES. USUALLY MAKE OVER 10 AWAYS A YEAR! who would you appoint as manager ? ANYONE WHO WOULD COME AND COULD REVITALISE OUR WEARY TEAM. WHO CAN BE WORSE THAN KEAN? what do you think a protest will achieve. HOPEFULLY GET A MESSAGE TO VENKY'S TO PULL THE TRIGGER ON OUR IMPOSTER OF A MANAGER. IT WOULD ALSO BE NICE FOR KEAN TO KNOW HOW MUCH I DESPISE THE PATHETIC LITTLE MAN! if you want our owners out... who do you think will buy us and invest for the future ? I JUST WANT THE OWNERS TO ACTUALLY CARE, COMMUNICATE WITH US MORE AND ACT LIKE PROPER OWNERS all questions are honest and not designed to trip anyone up etc...
A cup of beans Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I personally think a protest BEFORE the game would be wrong. However AFTER the game let them have both barrels! thanks for your comments, bacup do you think we would rehire big sam though ? if not big sam who ? also sambo... who's realisticaly going to take it ?
Mattyblue Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 They are in well over their heads, they need PROPER football people to aid them, not SEM etc. Their pigheadedness needs to change and quickly.
roverwhelmed Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I'm with you 100%. They've completely messed up because they don't know what they're doing. However I believe their intentions are good. They want success, as do we. They need to start setting things right by appointing Kean and getting a proper manager in. If they do that a lot of the rest should sort itself out. They might have good intentions, but to put our club in jeopardy in the way they have is unforgiveable in my eyes. I really struggle to have any sympathy for them because they won't admit that they were wrong and they won't take action to put things right. If they do that, they may earn some respect and our backing. If is a big if - I see no signs of it currently. They have so much work to do, it is scary. I have absolutely no faith in them whatsoever that they are remotely capable of getting any decisions regarding our club right. I can't wait for this absolute nightmare to go away and for us to pick up the pieces of our club with dignity and move forward.
Sandiway Blue Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 thanks for your comments, bacup. do you think we would rehire big sam though ? if not big sam who ? We should, but we won`t,other than that Martin O`Neil but only until the end of the season.Purely because he knows the league better than other available managers.

alexanders Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 "Going to the Emirates and getting a point, getting a point against Birmingham, we were just chipping away. Birmingham at HOME should be 3 points - nothing to be happy about! That interview from in the LT makes my blood boil!
A cup of beans Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 We should, but we won`t,other than that Martin O`Neil but only until the end of the season.Purely because he knows the league better than other available managers. decent shout. but not sure oneill would risk his reputation.. and only for a short-term position.
Mercer Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 There is a real momentum building up against Kean with some people now looking to organise a Protest before the City game. I have also managed to get Star News (Sky equivlent in India) interested in this story, hopefully they are going to cover this in the next few days and send a team up to Blackburn to get viewpoints of Rovers fans. Meanwhile in Pune, it seems business as usual. Let's hope it's not the two clowns masquerading as Rovers' supporters on the Radio Lancs' program a few weeks ago!
onlyonejackwalker Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 ive a few questions for you and anyone else who wants to protest. how long have you supported rovers? have you seen them through dark times before ? do you go to home and away games ? who would you appoint as manager ? what do you think a protest will achieve. if you want our owners out... who do you think will buy us and invest for the future ? all questions are honest and not designed to trip anyone up etc... What a silly reply. Run out of arguments? Rest assured I will have been watching as long if not longer than you, and will certainly have been to many more games, both home and away. Does that make you feel better? The level and passion of my support is not the problem here. The problem is obviously Steve Kean. We disintegrated mentally when SA was removed for a number of reasons, but primarily as it displayed a total lack of understanding and class. Huge respect was lost. He needs to be removed, simple as that. Anyone still under the misguided impression that SK is doing a good job needs to give their head a rattle!
modes98 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Should they appoint Agnew so he can sack him? Should they summon him to Pune so they can sack him there? Should they ring him and do a conference call to sack him? It really shows the mess we're in. Isn't Tom Finn doing the day to day duties whilst a replacement is located? Hitler didn't resign and he was in a worse mess the Kean. At least he had moderate success before his ultimate failure. Hitler is more of a Rafa Benitez. Plus he did kind of resign, he wasn't sacked anyway! The Man City game proves an excellent opportunity to protest without having a dramatic affect upon us staying up. We are very unlikely to get anything from the game. I honestly can't see how this has been allowed to go on so long. Kean is awful and his subs were once again shocking. Benjani? Roberts? MGP? The subs worked so well vs Brum let's do them again.
