Gav Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 If people do those things, in my eyes thats what they are, they are not proper people and I can tell you there are some people in football with a much worse name for him than that!! You need to get some serious perspective Kelbo, I'm not sure how old you are, but we have numerous incidents throughout history where certain people and factions could be labelled 'a disgrace to the human race, but simply Steve Kean being our manager isn't one. I’ve tried to leave this alone, but this sort of comment just goes to show the complete over reaction by a few on here to our current situation. Yes we’re in trouble, yes we may go down, but nobody is a disgrace to the human race in all of this.
Mattyblue Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Calling them Nazis= terrible Disgrace to the human race= out of order A turd? Sam was called a 'slug' constantly, hardly an outrageous slur.
A cup of beans Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I am not trawling the boards now, seeing as you have only arrived on here on a regular basis and have spent almost all of the time extolling the virtuse of the bloody clowns in charge of our football club, have a look yourself, think as well it was reported nationally too! im not extolling the virtues of the owners, but i am perpared to give them time to deliver on their plans and promises. as i said the other day.. IMO the only thing they are guilty of is listening to bad advice. theyve been in football just over6 months. JW quotes reported nationally? with quotes from him himself ? ... not just heresay ? ok i'll google and see if i can find them. now back to the people in football who have worse names for kean than you do ? .... No I cant, I am not going there again, you really want names fella dont you, I do wonder for what reason??? This is the third time you have posed this question and you wonder why I or anyone else on this board should trust you? Bet your PM box is well empty!! sorry just seen this... id be interested in these names so i can check out that youre not just saying these things to suit your views or make yourself seem important with knowledge from inside the club and the game. none of it matters but, if youre going to state things as fact... back them up or you'll just look a bit daft. still looking for these williams quotes cant find them... will apologise to you if i do!

All I know fella is I am older than you are, probably much older, in my opinion thats what Kean is, not for being manager, but his actions in becoming one, if in your opinion he isnt, thats fine, we will leave it there.
John Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 JW has not spoken much publicly since he left, their was his departure statement (change is constant etc), then a calls to arms rallying call in LET I think. According to Mrs D, JW had no time for Steve Kean and did not like the role of Jerome Anderson. Wonder why that was....
Gav Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 All I know fella is I am older than you are, probably much older Well you should know better in my opinion, so yes we'll leave it there.

According to Mrs D, JW had no time for Steve Kean and did not like the role of Jerome Anderson. Wonder why that was.... thanks, john. as i suspected. hardly as kelbo stated : his actual words; in JWs words 'we used to get on well but since he became manager, we hardly speak'
Kelbo Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 thanks, john. as i suspected. hardly as kelbo stated : his actual words; in JWs words 'we used to get on well but since he became manager, we hardly speak' Kean said: 'He has been here a very long time. He's done a fantastic job over the years, at times tough times financially for the club. Out with the old: Williams leaves Rovers training ground 'He's led the club through so it's disappointing that he has decided to stand down. 'I've always had a great relationship with John, probably more when I was first-team coach I had more contact with him. 'I've not really had as much contact in the last couple of months Those were Keans words, carefully chosen too, so why would a manager have less contact with his Chairman as first team manager than that of a coach, everywhere else its exactly the opposite!! Now let the apologies begin Zaccarius

Steve Moss Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 im failing to see why kean is so hated. he may be an appalling useless manager, but id be interested to know specifically why people are showing so much hatred. . Think of how you would feel about the hosptial if they assigned an "appalling useless" surgeon to perform a life saving operation on your child. The analogy is not far fetched. I've heard of football being akin to a religion and/or family (Rovers born and bred, etc). Those relationships generate a lot of emotion, something Venkys should have anticipated. JW has not spoken much publicly since he left, their was his departure statement (change is constant etc), then a calls to arms rallying call in LET I think. According to Mrs D, JW had no time for Steve Kean and did not like the role of Jerome Anderson. Wonder why that was.... Each of these points is strong evidence that Venkys should exercise a modest amount of business judgment, get rid of Kentar/SEM, Kean and Jensen, and bring JW back for a year to stabilize the ship. Venkys have clearly demonstrated that they are not up for it as 'hands on' owners. They'd best get a pair of trustworthy and competent hands on the wheel ASAP. JW fits the bill. Of course they won't. Pride and all of that. False pride, at least. I've seen nothing to indicate that they have personally done anything to be proud of, and are coasting on the outstanding achievements of their father.

The analogy is not far fetched. yes it is.. and hardly likely. this is a football thread and bringing in analogies about life saving operations is a bit out of place. im amazed at the lengths some will go to justify the vitriol using emotive language doesnt validate the analogy either. I've heard of football being akin to a religion and/or family (Rovers born and bred, etc). Those relationships generate a lot of emotion, something Venkys should have anticipated. agreed. maybe they will if they are given time and not just 6 months.

And despite reports I still don't believe that Mattyblue is a national socialist
A cup of beans Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Bloody hell zacc, stop being pedantic and actually have a debate. not being pedantic. he said in JW words, then quoted steve kean. if he'dve said.. as steve kean says he's not spoken to JW fair enough. but he didnt because that didnt validate his own arguments.
roversinmyblood Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Nicko, we haven't heard from you for a while. Do you still maintain your view that we still have a gem in Steve Kean and that he will come good and save us from relegation? Or do you now believe that he should be removed immediately or at the end of the season at the latest?

mode_m Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 not having a pop at anyone who wont be there on monday night but how do you intend to get behind the team? I know i rant at internet feeds when i watch the broncos but im not at the ground getting behind the team ,i can only rant at my monitor and I know i aint backing or influencing in any way.In real terms its happening monday ewood park and the people in the ground are the only ones with voices. You're absolutely right, I will not be there on Monday and will likely be yelling at my television screen (with whatever voice I have left from yelling at my useless local team, TFC). My point is more to the effect that Venky's is not going to hire a new coach until the Summer and calling Kean names both on and off the field is not going to help the Rovers win any games. If you find it cathartic to chant "Kean out" for 90minutes and boo the team off the field I suppose the two Manchester games are the best forum for this but it would be a shame to have this happen during the West Ham and Wovles games. Like you said, this is just my view as an outsider.

I really can;t see us winning based on the current form of both teams. haha. board of love! where is the love ? by the way... i wasnt having a dig at jewish people.. one of my closest friends jewish.. a jewess yeah fair enough I don't know any Jews so wouldn't care if you had a dig or not don't worry, I have some friends from Uni that support spurs but thats about it.

I really can;t see us winning based on the current form of both teams. Obviously these are tough times and even more disappointing for those that are season seat holders. You're right in that the best and only forum the fans have is game day and whether it more respectable to be relegated while booing or while chanting your lungs out with support is arguable; hopefully it never comes to this. In no means I am telling people what to do here, if you want to boo then boo, if you want to chant 'kean out' then by all means chant away. I do think psychologically it does have an effect on the players performance and if the crowd is at least backing the players then there might be chance of salvaging what's left. More to the point if the team was down 2 or 3 nil I would probably join in with the 'kean out' chanting, but not before the game started as the team was entering the field.

(sort it out.. etc)so long as its not personal. just hoping it doesnt happen, and we dont get the anti venkys chants ( whether it be (racist shouts or just.. "we want our rovers back") and def dont want to hear steve kean's a w** song.

Ultimately, Mrs Desai, her brothers, her advisors and her puppet Steve Kean, have brought all this upon themselves. Personally, I am angry and saddened that a club I have supported for 50 years has been brought to its knees by the inept management of Desai and Kean. If hearing "We want our Rovers back" and "Venkys Out" upsets Desai and her brothers - tough. It's nothing compared to the upset that most supporters have felt these past three months.
Steve Moss Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 We don't mind if you are Jewish don't be shy around us all are welcome we are a board of love. And despite reports I still don't believe that Mattyblue is a national socialist 1. There is nothing wrong being Jewish. 2. The name "Steven" I believe is biblical, or close to it (St. Stephen). I have no problem with that. On the other hand, you should come out of your tree. 3. MattyBlue seems like a nice enough guy, even though I disagree with him on a few points here and there. 4. We are a board of love, if used in the fraternal sense. But I unequivocally decline any dinner date with Abbey. He's not my type and he scares me. On the point of Steve Kean, my anger has nothing to do with him as a person. It is sourced in his inability to place enough points on the board to ensure the Rovers survival, let alone a mid-table finish. And rather than devote himself to the task, he spews nonsense which anyone who has watched the matches knows is nonsense which either means he is a fool or he thinks the supporters are. Either way, he needs to go. Venkys either doesn't see this or, if they do, their refusal to act does not speak well of them. So yes, I am incredibly frustrated. Especially as this is all unnecessary.
