  1. 1. Should Steve Kean stay or go

Recommended Posts

When I suggested that the players should take a large portion of the blame for giving us the worst run for 25 years I was told the buck stops with the manager. We win a game and suddenly it's nothing to do with the manager but all down to the players.

The players have been just as incompetent as the manager over the last 3 months and they should all hang their heads collectively

correct.. players are also to blame. look at some of the shambolic goals we have conceded.

I have no issue with giving the manager credit for a result. Arsenal away was a good example of manager getting his tactics right and the players having a terrific attitude.

My issue is that he is a manager learning his trade, we have seen before at this club on too many occassions that we cannot afford to take these risks.

That Bolton game could well have saved us, if it hadn't have come we would be staring down the barrel, why on earth take the chance?

But also look at some of the shambolic managerial decisions too.

Wigan away was a prime example of the whole playing and management team being beyond incompetent

IMO, Kean has not done one thing that suggests he's suitable for this job.

Again, IMO, he's a bullsh1tting chancer who isn't to be trusted.

Judge him by his results' record and his disastrous transfer window - that really says it all!

You can't blame him for taking the job

the buck stops with employers

With Kean - what is there to forgive ? He was offered is dream job - he took it - would anyone else do anything different ? I have yet to see any proof that he was personally behind Sam's dismissal - indeed if he was I doubt he would still have the dressing room. Though I can understand people questioning his abilities - especially his experience - I find some of the more personal stuff confusing and at times distasteful.

As for his tenure - things have improved since the early days when he obviously tried to change too much too quickly. Whether they have improved enough is debateable - but it is interesting to hear Olsson compliment both Kean and BS - with the emphasis on Kean giving young players confidence (something we have seen in Hoilett and Olsson).

Amen to that :tu:

Nah Gav. DMPT's post seems a little neaieve.

Not at all Den, depends which side of the fence you come down on, and for me DMTP's post takes into account the facts as we know them, not some hearsay derived by people with hidden agendas.

But you're entitled to your opinion as always pal.

One win in 3 months and the usual dopes return to the messageboard! If we escape relegation you'll be telling us it was all part of the master-plan!

Whereas you believe perennial underachiever Bentley is the answer to all our woes.

It takes all sorts

Its the nature of the beast on this board these days, dont worry, if we lose at the weekend you can tell us again how awesome Sam was, and how good we would be doing if he was still here........

I think fundamental to Rovers future is a good chairman... Currently the raos are being bluffed by kean (unsackable) and the agency...they need their own person in granted who they trust but someone who knows football..

I don't think Anderson will let this happen though. He will not want anyone interfering at BRFC. The only chairman we will get is someone who will be heavily linked with SEM/Kentaro, unless Venkys wake up to the antics of wormtongue and his puppet.

nope actually it doesnt, he states kean is doing better now, when compared to his start and that is false. The facts are quite clear, he gained more points in the start, as opposed to now.

oh and by the way, how the hell would you know, if other posters have agendas..? surely you wouldnt if it was, as you say, a hidden agenda. Nothing but a weak attempt to weaken others opinions, but surely you wouldnt need that, if your own argments/opinions are sufficient enough.

I'm now thinking Kean will stay, especially if we stay up. We'd not be bidding for other players if he was about to be given the elbow, unless there was contact between Venky's and his replacement about transfers. With the pillocks who own the club, I doubt whether they will have that sort of thing in place. So we can look forward to relegation next season, if not this one.

I was mainly referring to the Allardyce lies that have been thrown about this site, and the fact Kean took his dream job like we’d all have done.

I’ll be more specific next time and as for hidden agendas, doesn’t take a genius to work out that certain posters are not all that they seem :o

No I don't!

I think he would fill one problem position excellently but I'm pleased to see you recognise to whom I'm referring!

Bentley is still an excellent player.

McLeish just isn't good with players other than dogged workhorses. He hasn't even been able to use Hleb, who is a fantastic footballer.

I'd have Bentley back in a flash. Him, Hoilett and Olsson/Rochina behind a good target man could be devastating.
