  1. 1. Should Steve Kean stay or go

I wish that was true. Unfortunately, loyalty in football day is very, very rare.

True. Although if one was clutching at straws:

Nelsen, Pedersen, Emerton, Samba erm......erm..........Giggs.......

Not a Kean fan, just a logic fan. If he threw away 2 points, he got us in a position to win them. Credit and debit surely? Also, since RSC for Roberts was like for like, as opposed to changing the shape of the team, isn't it a case of RSC failing to execute more than manager screwing up? Tho I don't see why Roberts needed to come off - he's good for 90 mins.

You actually make a very valid point about Cruz's lack of impact, not Kean's fault that Santa decided he wasn't up for it.

The question is, will our fans hang around whilst the Manchester United fans are annoyingly cavorting about in celebration, which is likely to last for some time.

And will there then be any Rovers fans left to cheer our lads round in their lap of honour?

If Rovers lose this saturday, i'd be surprised if theres more than a couple of hundred around the ground waiting for the players end of season lap of honour, such as been the shambles at the club since the chicken chokers Venky's took over.

Next seasons season ticket sales could drop by at least 50%, if not more, if the Raos dont stop this downward spiral.

If Santa can't perform because he's injured and can't run or jump sufficiently but we bought him anyway----whose fault is it?

But it is Kean's job to assess his players to see whther they should play or not, Saturday was not the first time Santa Cruz hasn't looked at the races.

Going back to another point, why tell Benjani he has the chance to win a new contract on Thursday/Friday and then not use him on Saturday instead of Santa Cruz? Surely he would have been motivated to put a shift in or he doesn't get a contract. Am I missing something here?

When Kean came in I reserved judgement on him. I was neither happy nor displeased with his appointment at the time, if anything I was actually quite optimistic and the Liverpool game strengthened my optimism.

What has gone on since then has turned me in to one of those who can not believe this man (I could and have called him worse) is managing my club, clearly out of his depth and he talks nonsense more often than he makes any sense at all.

I understand those which believe change a few games before the end of the season may be a bad thing, I didn't think it would but that s my opinion, what I can not understand is anyone wanting this man at our club past the game at Molineux in two weeks time.

Confirms, IMO, that behind Kean's bullsh1te that there is little respect for him within "his group".

If this was not the case then surely our captain, whatever he may want to do, would have kept this under his hat until the end of the season. One poster in another thread likened this to 'The Doog's betrayal' before the 1960 Final and, unfortunately, I think he's right.

IMO, we will only ever regress with Donut, in tandem with Danish Pastry, plotting our course.

Kean keeps talking about how he has the complete backing of the owners and the owners have made it clear that they are confident in him. I'm very worried that this man will still be our manager next season. I know most of us want him to leave, but do we all think it will actually happen? I'm not so sure. The owners have been so mindless in their decision making so far, that it wouldn't surprise me in the least if this muppet is still here come the new season, even if we were relegated.

He will not be sacked. Anderson will make sure of that.

Don't think many would argue with that Gull. He could make a manager one day, who knows, but we cannot afford another season of this while he learns the ropes.

As I have said, it is too risky to hope he may come good.

Having a proven operator/manager could ensure you spending your money more wisely and utilising your resources better – by all accounts we still won’t be big spenders in the transfer market, in relative terms, so having a good manager obviously is all the more important.

Not saying we should keep him, however IMO there are not that many decent manager’s around so the view may be no point changing if you can’t really aignificantly better yourselves (also in the hope that Kean improves).

Also, importantly, we all need to take into account is our current working model is one which seemingly is heavily influenced by SEM/Kentaro (or has been up until this point).

For example if Venky’s wanted a new manager how could they make a judgement on who that new man should be?

That is a really good point unless they are now speaking with the right people!!

Anyone watch goals on Sunday yesterday?

Steve Mclaren was on there bigging us up a little saying we are a good side, said he had watched us a few times recently. Reading to much into this????

I'm making a small cameo here to post a quick view on Kean before I disappear again.

I've watched the past few games under Kean and have been pleased to see the team playing the way they have. Kean obviously has them on his side and is able to motivate them to play at the top of their game, but his continual failure to get results show his limitations and expose his tactical frailties.

I dont have a problem with him as a person, despite all that's been said about him, but I doubt his ability to take us up and make us progress in line with our vision and that of our owners. He simply lacks the experience and the know-how. The sad thing is that only last year we had a man that did, while still having the positive, motivational influence of Kean.

If we stay up, and I believe we will, then Kean either needs to go or be demoted back to a coaching or assistant management role (if that is indeed a realistic option).

I wish luck to anyone going to the last home game. There's nothing worse than United fans, except for celebrating United fans. If we play like we have recently we should do well though. I would like nothing more than to delay United's celebrations by another week.

No chance. He either stays as manager, or he goes.

But with the Venky's in charge I guess all things are possible.

???

will be downloading the show tonight then (mp3 downloads are available in the

'listen again' section.

kean also mentioned at the weekend that rovers will be 'one of the bottom half of the leagues form teams' ? some baffling statements in recent weeks,

but hardly surprising, cos he's trying to strengthen his position and promote himself.

some on here might say... he's promoting himself and relegating rovers!:P

Few other games too, he is obviously trying to keep overly positive on purpose.

e.g. We looked pretty poor against Newcastle at home too, remember thinking we could be in problems after that one - players looked quite edgy that day I thought.

Can see why he is saying we are the form team out of the bottom half/relegation threatened clubs.

At the weekend, someone mentioned to me that from our last 12 games, we would have a total points tally of 28 points (over the course of a season). Not sure if those stats are right.

He also stated when asked, that he would love to return to management in the Premier League with a well-run and respected club  and a good Chairman

Despite his failing with England, Steve Mc would be a good manager for us. Did a excellent job at Boro, won the league with little known Fc Twente and then moved on to Wolfsburg, who in all fairness tied his hands behind his back in regaurds to players and transfers.

But he's not interested in us because he wants to go to a well-run and respected club with a good chairman!
