  1. 1. Should Steve Kean stay or go

Recommended Posts

Well O'Hara for one who has been gaining MOM displays for Wolves, indeed, turned their season round a bit, Sturridge at Bolton is another, scoring for fun and a real danger up front with pace and power, both out on loan.

My aim in all honesty was to get rid of him as quickly as possible.

i wouldve loved the pair of em at ewood... and im sure most prem managers would have.

but maybe those loans were agreed well in advance. something coyle usually does. also football management is an old boys network. mick and arry might be pally!

That deal was already done for me, would have loved him at Ewood Kelbo.

Kean did well in the transfer window zac.

Jermaine Jones has been a good addition (albeit on loan) but the rest have proved useless in terms of helping us in our current predicament.

So in that respect Kean's transfer window was poor.

As long as you keep posting this rubbish there will be people proving you wrong time and again.

even with the lack of investment by the trust etc.. ?? for me a fall was always on the cards due to lack of investment. MOST other teams have strengthened year on year.. we havent.

the january window we brought in jones on loan, (been a fantastic signing) 2 players for the future and gambled on an ex hero.

many will question kean on this.. but im not sure who else we couldve got in jan.

for chrisk sake, do you even bother to think for a second, before posthing the opinion of a certified troll..?

with lack if investment and the trust in charge, what did we achieve last year.? Do you have the brain capacity to recall..?

yeah you are right, in the tiny place called earth, the only players available for transfers, were the 4 you mentioned.

I think the loan signing of Jermaine Jones speaks for itself Jim, I dont need to argue with you, its there for all to see and addressed a problem area thats been apparent since Hughes was here.

Kean did well in the transfer window zac, people quickly forget who was available and who the other teams around us brought in. Has any rival relegation candidate brought anyone in, that’s had more of an impact that Jermaine Jones? I’m not sure they have.

You look back and think who people wanted:

David Bentley – Flop

RSC – Flop

Robbie Kean – Flop

Eidur gudjohnsen? – Flop

Beattie – Flop

And many more, so on that score Kean did well to bring in an impact player, but he'll get no credit for it from most.

correct. also proves how difficult the january window is.. unless you have millions to spend and are an chelsea and liverpool, and have millions to spend.

for chrisk sake, do you even bother to think for a second, before posthing the opinion of a certified troll..?

yeah, greco its called an opinion! by all means slag me off and disagree. but back it up with decent opinions etc..

all your posts are confrontational... i suggest you see a shrink about it.. :P

man alive! if you spoke to people in the street like you do on here, you'd get a good few kickings i bet!

youre behaving like a complete prick!

Are you serious or are you just being controversial for the sake of it ?

no id say you are jim.. see this

as i said... we brought in santa, jones and 2 for the future,, but dont let that spoil your fun.

The aim of changing your manager is to improve results. So on the basis that we were 13th when Allardyce left, I'd have to say anything above that.

Spot on, pity we didn't change a manager with another manager.....

After the Liverpool game it was Europe, a few weeks later it was survival :D

Was our aim to end up in a relegation scrap, when Steve Kean took over though? How can you class it as a successful appointment when we have slid from 10th in the league down to 17th in the space of 3 months, and not won a game home or away for 11 matches?

Tough luck with your new manager aspirations. Steve Kean is staying and were stuck with him. Best hope he learns how to manage a football club very quickly, otherwise next season might not be quite as successful as this one has been

So does pride not come into it? Your happy to have a ###### manager and survive by the skin of our teeth rather than have a manager who was taking us forward and could (with some financial backing) easily have us pushing for europe.

Nobody has classed it as a successful appointment, that is where people are gaining the misunderstanding. The debate brewed up when GAV said something along the line of "if we stay up, then Kean's appointment will be justified". I am just backing that point up because I agree with GAV.

Kelbo, IF and it is a big IF, Kean is replaced with a more experience head, then I am sure attacting quality players will not be such a tough task, regardless of the position we finish.

Providing we pay a healthy salary (which is the case, if reports of RSC are to be believed) then it won't be difficult at all.

sure we all have opinions, but some of us and apparently not you, bother to think a bit and then post.

a shrink, sure why not, im guessing you have the numbers of a few with good credentials.

man alive! if you spoke to people in the street like you do on here, you'd get a good few kickings i bet!

zaccalus the keyboard warrior. Im sure you would be the man/girl to do that, right.?

youre behaving like a complete prick!

So you are trying to establish, that im mentally ill, should get a beatdown and saying I am a prick.. Isnt that a bit hypocritical.?

I know its challenging and probably too big a task im asking of you, but what was achieved last season, with the trust and minimal investment.?

And pleasee do share you opinion on why, those 4 we bought/loaned, were the only ones available..? There werent any other transfer/loan deals in january then.?

In reality next season will be a slog unless their are plenty of changes on the playing side too as the squad is just not good enough in all departments bar the Keeper.

squad is very low on quality overall. many of our squad players have become stale and others simply not good enough... atleast when it comes to improving the club year on year... huge investment is needed, and we'll also need our scouts to unearth gems.

Don't let the Sam haters read that Cruz. They all reckoned that the squad, before we spent money on it, was quite capable of playing entertaining football.

Someone mentioned earlier that players will not want to sign for a club that is fighting for relegation, nonsense. Show them the money and they'll all come running. It's just the way football is now.

You seem to be forgetting that over half the clubs in the league now have rich owners. In fact its something that is often overlooked when referring to what Venkys can do for us. Just being rich doesn't cut it anymore, look at Sunderland. Billionaire owner and on their way to their 3rd bottom-half season in a row thanks to employing the vastly over-rated Bruce, and even they'll have greater pulling power than us in the summer. Our appeal has been severely damaged by our form since December, I don't know how anyone can argue against that. Players could have been looking at a club on the up, with sensible owners, an established manager and realistic european ambitions. Instead they're looking at the nailed on winners of worst "up and coming owners" category, a team that barely scraped survival (hopefully!) and a manager with Championship-standard recognition and appeal. And you think they're gonna join us over the other 13 wealthy millionaire owner clubs in the league because of money?

id say capable of 'MORE ENTERTAINING' than most under sam. a distinct lack of a plan B was evident on numerous occasions, particularly away from home, (go a goal down and we'd more than often lose).

idve been quite happy if we'dve atleast had a go and tried to win the majority of the games.

but im going over old ground.

and thats teh last i'll say on big sam :P:lol: he's gone... move on! :brfc:

Will you 2 cut it out please. We've had enough threads ruined because of personal insults, don't want this to be another.

i come on here to discuss football... shame others dont.

i'll not be responding to him anymore.

Or at least one of you change your name?

or avatar... eh den ? ;)

:glare: how do you know i even have 1. you moron.

lmao..

you try to threaten and repeteadly called me all sorts of things and now you want to play the role of a victim. Perhaps you should consider, that not all will tolerate that It would of course demand a coherant thought process, where you think before you post, But that seems to be a general problem of yours.

a bit like a schoolyard bully, fine with dishing it out, but when the they feel the heat, they run back to mommy.

EDIT. sure thing blue and white rover, im done in the kean thread for today, done is done, but no need to further ruin this thread
