You really don't have a clue do you?

Inter sold Balotelli for £30million, was that money re-invested? No.

Clueless.

do i not.. ??? balotelli was hardly used under jose. you obviously didnt watch inter earlier this season. they didnt even resemble the side that won titles last season.

on moratti, he didnt take kindly to raffa using the press to give him ultimatums.

give me cash or i'll walk out. etc....

if he was doing such a good job... why was he sacked ???

i travel to milan frequently too and watch italian match coverage in italian (sky calcio at home)

i'd take the numerous pundits and ex players views more seriously than yours.

also "you dont win cups playing dull football" ?? both his cup wins at liverpool were on penalities.

also arsenal won the fa cup beating united in 2004.. again on penalties.. dull approach.

red star belgrade in 1992.. need i go on!

you cant twist everything to suit your opinion! :wstu:

Regardless of whether Balotelli was used or not, if you receive £30 million or so for a player, you expect that money to be invested back into the squad.

His dull approach meant they scored more goals than Manchester United in 2008/09. How dull must Fergie be eh?

He secured the La Liga title with Valencia, noticed you didn't mention that?

Or was that too dull?

Benitez won the league in Spain twice didn't he and UEFA.

He sure did.

Won the La Liga in 2001-02 and 2003-04

Won the UEFA cup in 2003-04 as well.

Then guided Liverpool to their 5th Champions League in 2005.

He won the UEFA manager of the year award for 2 consecutive years.

But hey, he's a sham of a manager and plays dull football

Have to agree with the pro-Benitez camp here. He spent the 4th most in the PL during his time at Liverpool and usually finished 4th, so no great shakes there. But if you add on his cup record and 1 very decent challenges for the title then overall you'd have to say he's a decent manager. However I'm not convinced he's suitable for us unless Venkys really are gonna completely transform Rovers, he's hardly experienced at over-achieving with small clubs on limited resources.

didnt and dont watch much spanish football (usually clashes with serie A).

also i notice you didnt mention him winning the uefa cup with valencia too :P

one of my closest friends follows liverpool everywhere and has the same opinions over it being dull and and wasting money.

by the way.. i didnt see liverpool winning 4-1 at old trafford.. i was in london at the emirates watching rovers. (and yes... sam's team.. 2nil down early on!1st goal in the 1st minute.)

id suggest that raffa or the players threw the shackles off in that match as defeat woulve ended their title challenge.

infact many could say his negative tactics stopped liverpool winning the league that season.. too many draws many at anfield. i also went to the merseyside derby at anfield taht season.

gerrard scored and they shouldve won easily.. but were pegged back by a late cahill goal.

To be honest, I couldn't give a flying f*** about where you've been or were.

You said that he had negative tactics, but you've not backed that assumption up Zac? Why not?

2 La Liga Titles

1 Uefa Cup

2 Super Cups

1 Champions League

Liverpool's best title challenge.

You said Inter fans were against him, and that you travel to Milan quite frequently, yet you've disregarded the banner at the San Siro, thanking Rafa Benitez?

No idea.

  • Moderation Lead

All this talk about negative tactics is nonsense, though he faded away badly at the end, and made many transfer faux-pas' whilst with the Scousers, it's fair to say that more Scousers were happy with him than unhappy.

At Inter, he just struggled to get going, and let's face it- as many managers will attest to, Mourinho is a tough act to follow!

btw its the guiseppe meazza stadium when inter play there :P

hundreds of banners up all over the stadium.. every week. (getting them in is like a military operation.. well with the police ;)) its a big thing over there.

1 banner thanking benitez wouldnt reflect the majority of the

Nerazzurri fans i asure you.

Jose Mourinho was hated by sections of the inter fans... but not the majority.

I see you've ignored my 1st question...

not ignored it... i just believe it is obvious that his tactics were negative. men behind the ball.. almost exclusively counter attack.

lfc had some shocking results under him... fell away badly in the league. finished 5th in his 1st season dont forget! also defeats to barnsley and reading at home in the FA cup exposed them too.

I don't like Benitez and found him less than impressive at Liverpool, but he is, at least, a manager

the fall at lfc is obvious. he is well known to be distant and has hardly any relationship with his players.. he got rid of his assistant, paco and things were never the same.

also wasted money by buying mostly spanish acadamy players, got rid of steve highway.

i'll leave it at that.

i dont want him, you do. fine.

i was initially responding to your call that i know nothing... have i atleast changed that view ? :D

so is paul ince! :P

Also won the Champions League in his first season don't forget.

Like I said, Liverpool scored more goals than Manchester United when they finished behind the Champions. How on earth can you call that negative?

You don't win the league playing boring football, he managed that twice with Valencia.

I agree with most of what you say blue n white, and we'll always find exceptions to the rule but Jose Mourinho often played boring negative stuff at Chelsea and was one of the reasons he fell out with Rom the red.

well, there have been times when i've found myself -thinking about whether we'd be better off with Ince than Kean and then I wake up because that nightmare is too awful to sleep through

Zacc - you are obviously against Rafa, but surely we need to put it in perspective that we're a small club who won't be able to attract the prefect manager. Surely if RB is willing to come to us, that is as good as we're going to get?

Can you think of another manager we'd realistically be able to attract with a better record??
