That is the attitude that most professionals will take, win at all costs. Especially when you have no money and poor players. How ridiculous that people complained about the style of football when we were comfortably in the Premier League.

Stoke have scored 48% of their goals this season from set pieces. I bet their fans are going ape ###### on their way down to Wembley.

true.. but stoke are far more exciting to watch than we ever were (UNDER SAM) they have 2 great wingers who have lightening pace... and a strong and quick front man.

granted they have spent big money.. a big factor in their success.

a major critism over rovers under sam and other mangers was the lack of pace.

thankfully now that has been adressed. along with olsson, junior has been given chance BY KEAN, on the wing (replacing sam's favourite.. el hadj!)

Yeah because we DEFINITELY would have won away at Villa if Sam was in charge. If there was one thing you could count on with Sam it was that would beat Villa at Villa park in cup games.

At least make your arguments make sense. Run them through your head a few times, try and think what the counter arguments could be.

5 positive results in 7 games, that's champions league form surely

I agree with Richard Keys he's doing a great job of fooling Venkys, Nicko and the media

But he doesn't fool my mother

he isnt fooling me or any other of my Rovers supporting friends...KEAN OUT

Point taken, but not enough points in games unfortunately, so we find ourselves in a relegation scrap which was so unneccessary and managed by a positive thinker who works long hours!!

Stoke have invested in the team far more than we have, its only the southern biased media that still portrays them as a long ball team, when actually they play decent football and have some decent footballers.

You can't really compare us to Stoke, but i'd suggest Pullis is far more into playing football than Allardyce would ever be, just my opinion.

Stoke are awful to watch, but they are effective. Granted under Sam we were awful to watch but not as effective as Stoke but as much as this kills me to say Stoke are actually have better players than us because they have had investmemt.

El Hadji Diouf was played by Sam because he fitted Sam's style of play, Junior was being introduced slowly which is the best way to introduce young players. We have too much emphasis on expecting our youngsters to see us through the crisis under Kean. Could you imagine if one of them made a mistake that sent us down v Wolves their confidence and Career could be shattered, it happens to more experienced players, Pederson hasn't been the same since his miss in the FA Cup Semi v Chelsea so to put all this reliance on youth based on the notion its more exciting is a load of crap. The situation we are in we want to be as boring and pragmatic as possible and thats the way Kean should have kept it when Sam left until the end of the season because you cannot change from the approach Sam had into Arsenal overnight, it takes time and the right players in the squad to do it, which we do not have.

Stoke used to be awaful to watch, they're now a decent footballing side, and footballed Arsenal off the picth last week.

Very cunning. How come you ended your Samba quote prematurely and never added the following? Did it not fit in with your agenda?

CHRIS SAMBA ALSO SAID "Steve’s a good manager, but he needs time to implement the changes he wants to make. But now we need to make sure that we remain a Premier League club because going down would be useless."

dont agree with that! you can't have seen them play on tv recently.

theyve played really good football in recent months.. and destroyed teams.. 5-0, 3-0, 3-1.

Last few times Ive watched them Ive fallen asleep(Hangovers are common on Sundays), sadly I didn't see them v Bolton or v Arsenal which yourself and Gav intimated they played some good stuff. The point I was trying to make probably got lost which was Stoke are more successful than us because they have had investment and have better players.

Funny this, my opinion of Steve Kean has changed over the past few months. First, I had some hope he would be pretty good, then everything went downhill and I thought he was pretty useless. Now, we're getting some results. I think that wth some investment in the club, in terms of someone who can actually score goals, Steve Kean will make a pretty good manager. It doesn't preclude the crap that we've seen until recently being ok because it wasn't but it takes time to get a team playing the way you want them to. Ince mark 2? I don't think so. Maybe it's naive optimism but there are signs of something pretty good coming out of this shocking season. Winning a game helped enormously. We need to win at least one more before the seasons over. I'm not completely convinced but neither am I convinced he's utterly useless like Ince.

You could be right but I'd prefer he learned his trade somewhere else. Perhaps he could return once he'd proved he could handle it?

I don't often get the chance to say I told you so, so just this once I'm going to do it. It wasn't Samba I heard it from but another senior professional, so at least they are all singing from the same hymnsheet and those who suggested that kean had lost the support of the players would appear to have been wide of the mark. Not saying Kean would be my choice of manager still, but they do appear to rate him more highly than most of us do, so he must be doing something right.

He's given all the loud mouths giant contracts, they must love him, money makes the world go round.

He lied to get in the team, puppet, Kentaro, paid to say it, Anderson, Kean did it etc.

Same player said that it wasn't just money that made them re-sign but the fact that the club still feels like a real family club and that everyone who works there just wants the best for Blackburn Rovers. We may feel that it has lost its family feel but for the players and for new people coming into the club apparently it still feels that way.

Cos they spent a lot Stoke can now play either way to suit the situation. Rem though before you make us believe that Stoke are really Barca in disguise that Pulis bought the excellent Tuncay and hardly played him. Shame we couldn't afford him he could have been superb just behind the striker in a 4-5-1 for us.

The same Chris Samba who recently said he is thinking of leaving if the opportunity arises? The same Chris Samba that kicked up a fuss, moaned about Sam leaving and wasn't happy with the choice of manager but was then rewarded with a new contract to keep him sweet?

The players who come out and praise Kean every week seem to be the same players who have recieved new contracts this season, or is that merely a coincidence?

Well what do I know, it looks like Kean is winning some people over 10% now want to keep him.

He also said he was happy to stay and has now decided he wants to leave in the summer. So trusting Samba's word is not high on my agenda.
