He has improved, however the PL is an absolutely ruthless league, assuming we stay up I don't want a manager learning his trade (from 0 points) at Ewood Park.

I agree Matty, I think Kean got it spot on today but it is clear we are not a club that should be managed by a rookie manager.

I think in time Kean will be a good manager but like Coyle he should start at lower leagues and work his way up.

I still think that he will be our manager at the start of next season especially after today's performance. Venkys will look at the game today and compare it to the 7-1 and they will feel that they were correct in sacking Sam.

yeah they will probably consider it progress drawing with Man U.

They don't live in the real world.

I think he will be manager next year as well.

But Kidd and Harford both got draws against Man U and they are the wrose managers in our PL history at least.

Did we win ?

Another cracker from this quality poster.

20 games, 19 points, 1 win in last 12 games and still in danger of the drop.

Presumably, you will be advocating that the guy is knighted should we stay-up ?

You seem a bit tetchy. I bet life would have been hell in the Misery household if Shrek had missed from the spot.

DGS - you jest !!! Tonight we've had 3 couples over for dinner and, guess what, all dinglers !!!

Opening remarks, "15 minutes for football talk, then banned".

Consensus, we are sh@gged. At this stage, we've held the champions, I'm half p1ssed on fine wine and now I'm gpoing to bed to think things over.

COYB !

Just think how flat this season would have been for the past month if Allardyce had nor been sacked. We'd have missed so much excitement.

Don't disagree with you on that one. However, do you still maintain that Sam will be managing in the Prem long after we've forgotten about this season? I was inclined to agree at one stage but for some reason I think he might struggle now.

Which will prove they have learned nothing from what has been a series of disastrous mistakes.

No, he's on a wind-up and catches you everytime.

For me I am beginning to come round to the idea of Kean staying on. In the last eight games we have played well in had seven and just one poor performance at Everton. That we have actually only won one game in that time is highly alarming but there has been a steady improvement and the standard of the performances have been decent. Stick a goalscorer in the team and i would be very confident.

Kean got it right again yesterday. I'm giving him a bit of credit.

Kean has improved - recently the team has showed so much determination and also looked much more ogranised/compact.

However these draws (or results as SK likes to describe them) might not be enough and we are now closer to the bottom 3 than ever - today's results could be significant for us though.

Football can be a very cruel game and we could easily still pay the ultimate price for having a novice manager in charge.

Exactly How I feel. we put in a performance like that and edge nearer to relegation-----especially if Wigan and Birmingham win.

You really need to get out more 47er, and stop following me around the site posting stupid on liners, makes you look silly :tu:

I praised the manager for yesterdays performance and tactics, how that translates to "he's on a wind-up and catches you every time" is something only you’ll understand  Wanting Grooby award maybe?

Did you go yesterday? :o

Lets see how those games go before we push the panic button. However those results go - we are still in the driving seat - barring an unbelievable set of results - a draw at Wolves should be enough - if we had lost it wouldn't have been. So though results did go against us - it could have been a lot worse.

We'll find out a lot more about Steve Kean next Sunday.

He has to get his team selection, tactics and player motivation spot on.

Totally agree - though hopefully injuries won't play too much on the squad he has available. With our first team - I really do believe we are player for player far better than Wolves. But this is a one off match - irrespective of yesterday - we have a rookie manager against a very experienced manager - and we are away from home. Lets hope the referee doesn't decided the match - or if he does lets hope for once it is in our favour.

Motivation and desire to win has been there for all to see, Kean’s succeeded on that score, but are the players good enough, do they have the bottle?

I think United and Spurs will win which, will make our game irrelevant.

There will always be clubs in the bottom half and struggling who will need a manager with his abilities. Villa for one, Sunderland for another.

Tell you what WHU must now regret massivley not hiring him in December! They have good enough players they just needed direction and confidence provided by a natural leader of men. Instead it's gonna cost the dildo brothers anything in the region of £50-100m and they might now even lose the posh new 60,000 capacity Olympic stadium to Spurs cos of it. Shame.:lol:

if it wasn't for off field events and Kean being appointed we wouldnt have been put in this last day lottery

Desire to win? We won nine times up until January. Since then, the motivation and desire to win of the players has lead to just one win.

Thank fleurk Kean "succeeded" so well or we really would be buggered!

Disastrous decision to sack Sam. Disastrous timing, disastrous flippancy of those in charge of it and a disastrous lack of any kind of plan of what to do after.

One thing Kean's appointment should never be called is "justified". It wasn't, it was a grade A balls-up.
