this is very true! was definately a duo.

an available manager with a proven goalscoring record is hard to find. i am racking my brains for one here lol.

Does 6 goals in 13 european games count? I think it does; and that is Alex Ferguson playing for Dunfermline in the European Cup-Winners Cup and the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup matches in the '60s. These include victories against West Brom and Everton by the way at a time when West Brom were a top side in the English first div.

Holloway for me if Blackpool went down and there's a fair chance of that happening?! Saying that just can't see him working for the venkys

I'm not keen on Holloway at all. Fair play to the man for achieving relegation in his first full season in the premiership (ah, thank you) but i'm sick of his 'Poor Blackpool' ramblings about how the world hates him and his club etc. In fairness, I suppose he does deserve some credit for getting a team of such lowly paid players to consistently try and win points in a generally attractive manner. However, he is the only manager in the league who had no expectation placed on top of him at the start of the season.

If Holloway had managed a team where expectations were a lot higher, then I don't think he could have afforded to be so cavalier in his approach, and that includes both his comments to the press and his approach on the football field. Yes, Blackpool have had an amazing season, one that will always be remembered by the Blackpool fans, but time will prove that Holloway is a one-trick pony and would struggle at a club with any serious ambition in this league.

Looking forward to seeing the back of him on Sunday....hopefully...

That sums up pretty well how i feel about Holloway. I also wouldn't want a media darling or rent a quote managing Rovers next season. We need a manager with some dignity after the upheavals of this season. One who doesn't have to go shouting about things in the press at every opportunity. We need to get back to doing our business under the radar and just quietly creeping up that table without a song and dance. that's not what we'll get but it's what I'd like to see.

Important not to forget how Steve Kean got the job in the first place.

Steve Kean, the coach promoted into Allardyce's chair, is himself represented by Anderson who, senior football sources say, has for years rated Kean as highly promising.

SEM are very good at looking after their clients. I would expect if survival is achieved this weekend then one of the first things that will take place will be a new contract for John Jensen – that will ensure more money all round for everyone, happy days, however possibly not happy days for the most important thing, the club.

Along with the signing of Myles (the next Chris Smalling) Anderson, what a crude conflict of interest.

Talking to a mate last night who was in The Eagle at Barrow Saturday teatime- Kean was in there half cut.

Few hours later he was hurtling southbound on the M6...

That's pretty disgraceful, if true, and a blatent disregard for the safety of other road users.

Thankfully the police stopped him (maybe on a tip-off) before he was able to do some damage.

While SEM/Kentaro are advising Venky's (which they most certainly are) then there is no chance of Kean being sacked.

Sadly correct. It is not just Kean we need to replace. But in my opinion, we want SEM and Kentaro out of the club as well.

Do we know for sure that SEM / Kentaro ie Jerome Anderson has any influence at what happens at the club?

Well Venky's know nothing about football - Huber, founders of Kentaro, was mentioned (by Nicko I think) as having some involvement too.

Mrs D on John Williams

"I know that he did not get along with Steve (Kean) and he had struggled to accept Jerome (Anderson)'s role at the club."

Mrs Desai said she remained impressed by the job that Kean is doing for Rovers and she played down the future role at the club of Mr Anderson, whose SEM/Kentaro group brokered the takeover deal.

She said: "Jerome has helped us but I want to be very clear that he does not run the club

Really ? I thought they had left the building ?

I could be worng but I'm sure the "people in the know" said a while back that Anderson and the rest of Kentaro had gone.

I did not believe that when it was said and I have less reason to believe it now.

Interesting that Matty, as Kean was talking to a group of Rovers fans outside the blues bar at teatime Saturday  and thats first hand information, so your mate is telling porkies pal.

That said he shouldn't be drink driving, but its not the end of teh world.

Yes, he helped Venky's during the takeover because Venky's didnt have much insight information about BRFC, The Premiership and the structure there. The same as Ahsan Ali Syed was helped by that twitter guy. To be relying totally on the set-up which was already there (subjective opinions) would be a very novice thing to do.

Is it wrong to think that Venky's had planned to bring another manager in ater firing Sam, but werent able to do so and therefore stuck with their caretaker manager? No doubt they made a mistake there, but we all do.

She states that Jerome isnt running the club and said in other interviews that they search for advice from other places as well.

As soon as this happens then we know that he is staying (Kean), and i fear that your right. If we survive then i would expect this contract to follow on shortly after. There were rumors flying around at one point that he was inline for a new contract, him not getting one had me hopeful that they would both be gone.

Don't shoot the messenger! He is not akin to telling tales and he is not particularly anti Kean, so a strange one..

Maybe they thought he had because he was no longer seen openly. Maybe now things have changed and he is now lurking in the shadows. But if he is still there, my opinion is he should be removed as I do not believe he is of help to any owner of a football club. After as an agent he is only concerned with himself and the players he represents. I do not believe a football agent can have any care for a particular club.

I further believe that a lot of clubs, agents etc were jealous of what was happening at Rovers under Jack Walker and the Walker Trust. Hence the mess we are in now.

I would imagine though Kamy, that with the Venky's clan wishing to spend a lot more time here next season, that SEM's role may become somewhat marginalised over the summer and into next season. Mrs. Desai does not appear to be a stupid lady, and although she isn't very well up on her football at the moment, she must see that Kean's record of only 1 win in 14 league and cup games simply cannot be allowed to continue.

Personally, although I hate to say it, I think Kean will be given the summer and if results have not improved after six games or so into next season, I can see the axe coming for him. Honestly, I loathe the man as a manager, he is so naive it's untrue. However, the more worrying thing would be to increase Jensen's contract - that would be an appalling decision for a man who has had not one jot of positive influence on the club.

Not shooting the messenger Matty, the timings must be off I guess.

I think we will see Steve Kean as a manager come the start of season 2011/12.

For me there have been positive signs;

- Brought in some good players in the transfer window

- Good performances against the top 4

- Mixing it up, by using Robinsons longkick strengt and playing on the deck using olsson, hoiletts strengt.

- The defensive shambles have been taken care of and for the last three games (city, wham and united) we have looked organized. I think Nzonzi has helped us there and we would probably pick up more points had it not been for his unjustified sending off against Arsenal.
