Mercerman are you seriously comparing changing supermarkets to not supporting our club? We are better off without fans like you. Toddle off and support man u if you are that fickle you'll fit right in.

It was an analogy, maybe not the perfect one. However, the point that I was trying to get over was simply that any football club that doesn't deliver in terms of results and / or employs a manager who does not engage with the supporters, or even antagonises them, will see an adverse impact on gates and income. We saw this with Megson at Bolton. Kean has not delivered results (one win since Jan.) and, IMO, has no relationship with the supporters.

I am not fickle, was one of 6 or 7 thousand still attending when rock bottom of the old 'Third', but I will simply have had enough if this, IMO, clown of a manager is allowed to carry on - his position cannot be justified. That is, simply, my choice.

It is your choice, and maybe I was a little harsh before but its simply not one I can understand.

Managers and players come and go, the the club and my support is the constant for me. Picking and choosing when I give it is not an option, indeed when times are good i'd feel like an importer.

Yep it hurts to see the club I love in this state but there's been bad times before and there will be again. That is what being a supporter is all about to me.

One win in 4 months, yeah the players are fully behind the manager and are responding to his tactics.

I think it's currently 2 wins in 4 months-WBA at home on Jan 23rd?

....being a top class coach Kean......

Was he top class?

I thought he was a decent coach.

Was he excellent?

I don't remember people praising him that much before.

Considering he coaches and gives lectures to others, was wanted by Chelsea and Sam was desperate to have him I would say he is a top class coach. He has also had at least one SPL offer and an offer from Real Sociodad. In football circles he is highly respected- does not make him a good manager though!

It doesn't make him a good manager you're right, but us 'glass half full' types can take some positives from his transfer dealings if nothing else. If he stays and gets 10m, I think he'll do well in the transfer Market, but can he match good players with good tactics..,,,I doubt it.....

Not like you to post idiotic unqualified statements either.

If you can explain exactly which statement I'm spinning and how I'm spinning it, then by all means do so.

It must be wonderful on your ivory tower, any more insults?

"But Sam was a good manager who was rightly being retained in his job, and Kean is a poor manager who is being mysteriously kept in his job by our idiot owners."

Firstly you spin that. Sam a good manager? He was an average at best and split opinion amongst the fans.

And the owners are idiotic because they made a football decision you didnt agree with i assume? Well boohoo, when you stump up 40 million and buy the club, you can once again install good ol big sam as manager and admire him for the rest of time. Im sure Phil Black could set up the deal.

MeanGreen Machine I can't believe you are having a go at TGM because he said Sam was a good manager.

That's amazing, he saved our necks and took Bolton from the championship to 5th in the premier league.

Imy9 goes around calling Kean a world class coach and you pick on TGM for calling Sam "good"

This board is crazy

Top class is different to world class Chris, and for the record Imy9 has gone round saying Sam is a good manager too.

Come on Chris it is not the same thing in the context of a football debate. Top class managers include for example Rafa, Moyes, world class managers include Jose, Ferguson etc, you could easily do a similar list of coaches.

Yeah your right I was kidding, I didn't really mean it with disrespect, I was only referring to it as an example that calling Sam good is not exactly calling him top class or world class.

Although if Kean was considered a top class coach and he worked under Sam, what does that make Sam?

As should Kean fully be, not nipping over to India to discuss his contract or plans for next season!

Exactly. If Sam was in charge and we were in this position, I wonder what his reaction would be if Venky's told him to come to India and have a chat.

He'd tell them to bugger off, and we'd probably do what we need to do and stay up.

It's all if's and but's though, we're in this position and we have what we have. Everyone needs to get behind the club and if somehow Kean does remain in charge next season, then I am personally willing to give him a fresh start and look at his dealings in the summer and give him 6 games to prove he has sorted himself out.

I would love to have a new manager though.

Would that be the final straw for you? Your 17th so far then!

Surely Kean must know if he is going? If so, I fear for us against Wolves, let's just hope the players have it in them to keep us up, as Kean sure won't (UNLESS, maybe he'll get an extra bonus on top of his pay-off when he leaves if he keeps us up?)...Who knows - this is mad.

£20million would be great though, whoever has the money should be able to keep us safe at the very least!

Wonder if the NoTW story is payback for the Sun being talked into running the ages old Givet story to cover Kean's drink driving as Revige suggested?

As I understand it, Rafa's pre-contract probably would have meant him starting next week but he now knows too much about Venky's and is giving Rovers the miss.

Therefore Kean is in for the duration of Venky's tenure.

If Rafa takes over next week I would be quiet confident of having a good season. If Kean stays in charge I doubt we will finish higher than BFS had us last year.

Cheers

I find it strangely interesting that this story comes out today. Especially when it has been reported elsewhere, that Kean says he won't be sacked if Rovers are relegated.
