Steve Kean,

You inherited a team that had finished top 10 four out of the last five seasons, were given a decent transfer kitty in January, had a pretty good headstart and...

You still almost got us relegated.

You improved a bit towards the end, but you're still not good enough to manage Blackburn Rovers.

that's unfair mate. why you harking back five years?? we've had an on form Benni, RSC, Bentley, Tugay, Bellamy and Friedel in that time frame. Silly, silly comparison.

Like it or not the boy done good over the last 9 games. And the players love him. Perspective.

Succinctly and accurately stated.

Nothing else needs saying.

As usual, many of the posters here can't help but attack Steve Kean after a great result at Wolves.

On my part, I would give great credit to him on this game. Great performance from a team that is clearly working for him as well as themselves.

Correct tactics, Roberts repaying support with goals and that follows on from the result against United. The future of Steve Kean lies with the owners and not the posters on this board so I guess he has a chance yet. He has made mistakes, he is new to the role of manager but I think he started to get it right in the last stage of the season.

If he stays I hope Venky's back him and the team with extra funds.

Anyway, today is a day for relief and a smile at an away win on a day when the manager and the staff managed to get the players to play without pressure affecting them.

Excellent bit of positiveness. Well said sir.

Kean has done well the past five or so games. He has improved and in games like the westham and wolves matches where the other teams have had to win and throw everything at us he has got some big results.

We should not of been in this position and that we were was down to his inexperience, however he has done well to get up out.

Would feel better if he was not in charge next year but if he is then at least there has been some encouraging signs.

Oh and lets hope he gets a taxi home tonight!

Good post as I agree, I am not a kean fan but some credit where it's due

Would rather an experienced manager but will have to see how he does now with some money

Well, over the previous two calendar years we were a top 10 side too, (the half season after Ince, the full season last season and the half season this year). Is that a fairer comparison?

The last 9 games had a great first half performance vs Wolves, an overall excellent display vs Man U and a battling display vs Arsenal and a good first half vs City which I'm happy to give Kean credit for. We beat Bolton, but then they were in shocking form and have the worst away record in the league.

But there's also been the two home draws against teams who've been relegated, clinging on for our dear lives against the worst team in the league, a senseless substitution which directly led to us losing against City and a rubbish display at Goodison.

He's improved, but it's still not good enough for Rovers.

Anyone else think that the transition period has come to an end, and the players are playing well because of this?

Or do most of you still believe the players are ignoring the manager and playing the way THEY want? (when they win)

Cant really argue against that!

I simply dont believe Steve Kean can take this club forward.

Predictably negative...

I'd hazard a guess that 8 points out of the last 4 games of the season have effectively kept him his job. If the board back him I'm prepared to see what he can do with some cash and a a full pre-season behind him. He may yet be a good 'un I'd suggest.

Yeah, such a negative post which included several instances where I feel he deserved credit. It's actually a very balanced post. Fundamentally he's still not good enough as plenty of instances in the last 9 matches suggest.

Out of those 8 points, 3 came against a team with the worst away record in the league and 3 came at another struggling team - though the first half performance deserves a special mention. One of those points was away to the worst team in the league and we were desperately clinging on to get anything from that game. The Man United display was probably the most impressive but again they won as many away games this season as Blackpool.

It's sad to see the usual suspects almost seeming disappointed that we won.We were never even discussed as being in danger on 'survival Sunday'.

I'm happy to take the positives out of today, some of you have missed your prozac dose and need to get it taken asap.

We're looking like a side that can play football, this with a manager who by all accounts can't manage for toffee. The same players have been hoofing the ball and playing percentage football for the past 2yrs.

So these facts alone give us cause for optimism even if Kean stays in charge.

People are taking positives out of today.

People are acknowledging Kean has improved.

But people are still saying he needs to be replaced this summer.

Why do you find that so difficult to deal with?

Steve Kean you took over our team mid-season, a difficult time to take over especially under the circumstances.

A team that was 5 points above the relegation zone after 17 games and ended the season 4 points ahead of the drop zone. End of season report? 6.5/ 10- could/should do better.

The team has been inconsistent but when a number of fans were against you and the press have been against you, you have remained dignified and proven in the last 4 games especially that you should not have been sacked after the Fulham game.

I would personally fire you because I want someone with more experience, however I can see that you potentially could be a decent manager and if you are manager of Blackburn Rovers FC next season- you will start with a clean slate from me and hopefully with some decent investment from the owners we can push on next year.

I think its sadder to see Rovers fans so deliriously happy and would like to keep Kean - I really doubt he can bring us forward.

I am really happy that the players did their job out there today and I dont think for one minute that has anything to do with Kean

Yada yada..if my aunty had bo**ox she'd be my uncle. 8 points is 8 points whichever way you might try to spin it and frankly, I don't care if 6 of those were against the one-legged,midget,siamese twin all star 11!We got the points and that's all that matters...no-one will remember who they were against,it's all about what the final league table says.

Get a grip man.

I agree with Brian Nelson in that this is nicely positive. However, the owners are as unpredictable as the weather.

Great job today Rovers!!!
