Can we get this back on topic please.. ie, Steve Kean

There is another thread for calling the troops together Here

If we must, but unfortunately there is not a lot left to say. I have rarely wished to see the back of a manager so much in my 35 years of following the team. The only other occasion was with Ince in charge, and I was calling for his head 3 or 4 games before he was eventually removed. Ince was sacked after playing 17 games, whilst gaining 13 points. Brian Kidd was disastrous also, but we cut him come slack until he threatened our safety in the Championship!

Super Steve has 11 points from 12 games. He is doing really well managing to compare points wise with Ince after waxing 5 million pointlessly as well!

For me, calls of unity on message boards are silly. The players can't hear what we write on here. We should be able to discuss and talk freely on here, express varying views, secure in the knowledge that 99% of the people posting on here are decent and knowldegeable fans that would always support the efforts of the team on the pitch.

My concern being that should we win against Blackpool, everyone will get all trembly and excited again like they did after we beat Liverpool and start claiming Kean as the new Mourinho. For some strange reason, one good win against Liverpool and one good performance by J.Jones against West Brom was heralded as the start of a new dawn. It was obvious to some that the Liverpool game could have gone either way even though they were shocking. A missed open goal by Torres and missed penalty by Gerard clearly illustrated that point, but no-one noticed due to being too busy 'high fiving', 'back slapping' and twittering on about possible 'top 6' placings.

It is pleasing that many are more realistic and objective now, but typical that it took the recent pathetic run of form for people to open their eyes and understand what was happening to the team.

i still stand by my point, its quite interresting, that some are trying to strangle a civilized debate, by using unity as en excuse, when they themselve, surely didnt held back, when sam was in charge. Where was your call for unity at that time..?

if that offends you or hit a nerve, i could hardly care less, sometimes the truth hurts.

edit: didnt see your post true blue, feel free to move it, to a more relevant thread.

its quite funny, that those people, who on a regular basis slated sam, called him fat and other derogatory words, are the exact same people, who are trying to strangle a civilized debate, under the we-need-to-stand-united-banner.

hyprocrisy.

its as if certain people, cant distinguish between, speaking your mind on a messageboard and real life behaviour on the stands. Its perfectly possible to have a negative, some would say realistic look at things, but still participate in supporting the team.

Get a sense of humour man.

unfortunately there is not a lot left to say.

Spot on, its been said and said and said.......

Steve Kean from a playing prospective has definitely got Blackburn Rovers into this mess so what confidence can we have in him getting us out of it.

I have given up all hope of him going anywhere so I feel that we have to deal with what we have got. I can not say I have confidence in the man, but I HOPE that he can inspire the troops to a win. Unlike the Sam hatrers, I wil not name call this manager and will support the players he has under him.

I feel that we have been completely and utterly let down by all concerned since the sacking of Sam. There will always be mistrust now because of info not printable and perhaps we can put all of this behind us after the season is over and safety secured.

Not sure if this has been posted:

Further proof that he only says what he thinks the owners want to hear.

The fans' main target will be to finish 17th and get into next season with a new manager.

Also comparing this season to last season's points tally, forgets to mention that Big Sam didn't have the luxury of getting 80k+ a week players in.

All very true, but at least he has ambition.

Definition of ambition - mouse climbing up an elephants leg with rape on it's mind.

Bloody hell. I'm all for a being positive, but for goodness sake cut out all the b.######. Truth is Kean, we're in deep trouble here and finishing the season in this league will be a success. I think he's partly talking to us the fans - and partly bullsh1tting Venky's. This kind of crap doesn't work because the fans need to believe that the people running the club have honesty and credibility. I really hope this hasn't been his approach with the players this week, because they need to know exactly what the situation is - and they need to know what a huge effort is needed between now and the end of the season. If this hasn't been his approach with the players, then why go this way with the fans? No wonder the fans wonder what's happening with the club when we get messages so confusing.

In fact, to me the absolute priority for Venky's is to get real and understand what the hell's going on. They, along with the manager seem to think that the fans are thick. Talking top ten, two days before this game is, to me, indefensible and totally irresponsible.

Den we all feel your pain and the mess that Rovers are in. But we are stuck with Kean at the moment. I 100% agree that Kean and Venkeys have no clue how much trouble we are in. All we can do is hope Kean keeps us up and we are not playing the 2011 season in the Chumpionship.

My 2 wishes are Rovers stay in the Premier League and Kean is given his P45 after the final whistle of the last game of the season. Then Rovers and the fans can regroup and pray that Venkeys engage their collective brains before they open their mouths.

I have to agree with those who have posted before me about having realistic ambitions here. We are fighting for survival and a 17th place finish is the target, anything higher than that is a bonus.

I've been thinking about the whole situation and even if we do somehow manage to stay up Kean has to go as far as I'm concerned.

It won't happen, though. If we stay up, I fear Kean will be the blue-eyed boy and allowed to carry on. If we are relegated, it will be deemed that he is the man to carry us back to the Premiership. Until the bubble bursts ...

Of course, if he pulls his finger out and we win all the remaining matches that is an entirely different matter :glare:
