He doesn't commit himself to saying he'll sign RSC or J.Jones in the audio interview - he simply say's he'll talk with their clubs. I doubt he'll sign RSC...

yeah he's barely played him in weeks, if you can;t get in the team ahead of a 33 yrs old Roberts, then you're not going to be very expensive or in demand

did anyone else here that so called fan of ours on talksport this morning about 9:20 am.

the most negative caller i have ever heard. just used it to bash keane and "these venkys"

the only thing he said about yesterday's game when asked was .. "they played alright" or words to that effect. complete tool.. and if thats how negative you feel after a display like that.. you know nothing about football.

we get enough stick from the media and phone ins are our only chance to promote the club in a good light.

think his name was anthony.. if youre on here sir, you should hang your head.

Was the caller a Doctor?

Venkys and Kean still have a lot to prove, I think its a time to not be negative anymore, but I'm not surprised some fans are unhappy.

Hopefully fans now give the new regime a chance to shine this summer.

Not entirely true - J Jones has been an inspirational signing and Olsson, Hoilett, Nzonzi, Roberts and Emerton put in big performances under Kean that they has not been doing for Sam.

Really JBN?

For starters, Nzonzi was player of the year last season under Allardyce. On top of that, Roberts is Roberts, gives his all every time he's out there, but to suggest he's a better player under Kean is plainly wrong. Very few people on here ever wanted Jason starting games, but to be fair he's a better option than Niko who was seen by many to be "class". Just shows, these are merely opinions that you/me are giving, not facts.

It was mercerman for sure.

it'll be on the 'listen again' at talksport.co.uk

fine be negative.. but christ we dont need any negativity from the OUR OWN FANS! AND IF WE DO BE BALANCED AND COME UP WITH SOMETHING POSITIVE

irani was saying he was with rovers and burnley fans on a stag do this wkend and the fans were split over fat sam too.

1st time the media has admitted that! the way they paint it is we're all crying into our pints and wiping the tears with our flat caps.

paint us in a proper light, as a few callers did to collymore and kelly yesterday..

My first post in this thread and I left it on purpose because quite frankly the attitude of many on here is disgusting.

Steve Kean...yes it could have all gone horribly wrong but is it his fault? How can it be? He didn't sack Allardyce, the owners did. The players were clearly bemused by that sacking and no matter who came in after christmas it was always going to be a tough task. The fact that Kean got the players playing for him in and got us safe...well he

deserves massive credit. Lets not forget the guy has turned Hoillet and Olsson into first team regulars, which Sam wouldn't do...he refuses to play crap like Keith Andrews who played every game under Sam. He brought in Jermaine Jones in January who has played a vital part. He seems to have got the best out of Emerton and Samba has been playing out of his skin for him.

If the players had a problem they would have let it known to the hierarchy and Kean would have gone. For me, looking at our games over the last 2 months, the players are well and truly behind Kean. I knew that ever since Fulham away.

Too many people on ehre think managing a football team is as simple as playing a computer game. It isn't. Kean has done well to keep us up. Whilst things wouldn't have been so close had Sam stayed, we would have been lingering around mid table playing the same old boring stuff with Andrews playing every game. Of course, i would prefer that than be so close to going down but that was the positon

the owners actions put us in, not Kean. We have been playing attractive stuff under Kean and Allardyce in a similar position as him yesterday would have lost us the game for sure. He would have played one upfront and defended. We took the game to Wolves...that's why we won.

Kean has a chance now to really put his name on the job and prove the doubters wrong. He has money to spend and players to talk to. Lets not forget he convinced Samba to stay before. If we are bottom by November I will eat my hat and he will be sacked but something tells me that won't be the case. He's been in football a long time, he knows

many in the game and you can see how close he knows some of the top managers in the game. He's a young manager who has a good relationship with the owners. I'm positive and saw enough in the last 2 months to give me reason to be. The kids on here will have to find something else to moan about me thinks. Get real.

Sums things up nicely I'd say, couldn't agree more.

The club now needs to regroup from the top down get rid of the SEM/Anderson link bring in a manager who can manage and bring in his own backroom team and have full control of signings.........cos if there are significant funds available + they are given to SK the donut will probably waste it on dross ( but what top player would sign for him anyhow ? ) and we may end up in the same position this time next year...

well done for the players for yesterday was a top away day....but we should never have been in thaty po0sition anyhow

Really? B'ham in front and us at 3-3 would have meant another Wolves goal sending us down.

If my auntie had balls etc...

We were NEVER in danger yesterday.

For what it's worth... Steve Kean has got something about him. I've said it before. To get this level of performance out of this team after the shocking run we were on (I know, I know we should never have been there etc etc...) shows something. We've taken the game to the opposition in quite a few games recently and got points. West Ham away, when was the last time we got anything there btw? A rookie manager with rookie owners is always going to be a recipe for disaster. The truth is it nearly was but it isn't. A full season is how we really judge a manager. It looks like Kean is going to get that and we shall really see what he is made of and how things go.

One thing that makes me laugh out loud is when certain posters put a rumour up, said rumour never happens and then the rumour is held up as evidence that Venky's changed their minds and can't be trusted. Or the rumour is used to bash them again and again and again and again ad infinitum. There's been so much spin placed on events at Ewood over this season post Venky's takeover that I wonder how some posters can sleep at nights. Remember the one about the funding being cut for community support projects by Venkys? How about Maradona? Where is he now btw? How about Phil Jones? Still here I see... Time, frankly, to give this sh!t a break. Draw a line under it and move on.

Theno's right. Don't tell the seller that you have a load of cash. ABC.

I am mixed on this subject really - I agree it is daft to let other clubs know you have money - however it is a good ploy to increase season ticket sales and encourage sponsors. A difficult one to call.

As I said, wise after the event. Kean made mistake after mistake this season, all of which has been documented on the Forum.

Venkys have made a laughing stock of the club and should be treated with a mixture of contempt and mistrust.

Yes, they came 2nd

Wrong they finished 11th, they finished 2nd in his second season and he was on the verge of being sacked , according to the media at the time, dire football not winning etc, but the board stuck with him

I think this is an excellent post, even though I don't necessarily agree with it all. There have been a lot of very negative postings on here, not just directed at the manager's record, that have said more about the posters than the target they were aiming at.

I personally would prefer a more experienced manager next season. But if it is Steve Kean he will get a fresh start from me in August and I will be there with my season ticket supporting him and the team.

Whoever it is though there are certain things I think are imperative

1) New Hoillet contract

2) Keep P Jones and Samba

3) Sign J Jones

4) Sign a QUALITY striker

5) Give Rochina and Formica a proper pre-season chance

If ever there was a picture in need of a caption. But why is Ryan's hand in Kean's inside jacket pocket?

We're small fish in a big pond these days so I don't see any harm in saying we have a decent budget to work with.

The type of players we'll be looking to bring in will hardly break the bank, fringe players maybe from bigger clubs? And most fees will already be set.

Venkys are all about publicity and the manager is trying to be open and honest here, nothing wrong with that for me.

Exciting times ahead maybe?
