  1. 1. Should Steve Kean stay or go

Recommended Posts

its quite funny, that those people, who on a regular basis slated sam, called him fat and other derogatory words, are the exact same people, who are trying to strangle a civilized debate, under the we-need-to-stand-united-banner.

hyprocrisy.

its as if certain people, cant distinguish between, speaking your mind on a messageboard and real life behaviour on the stands. Its perfectly possible to have a negative, some would say realistic look at things, but still participate in supporting the team.

Well said. My sentiments exactly.

Robbie Savages opinion

But the biggest game is at Blackburn and even as an ex-Rover who desperately wants them to stay up I think Blackpool will win to put Steve Kean in even more trouble.

Everyone says good things about Kean but an untested manager is not what you need in a relegation scrap.

In fact, what Blackburn need now is the guy who sat next to me during an ESPN broadcast last week. Bloke by the name of Sam Allardyce.

Yet another one who knows nothing about football! As the real experts say "Allardyce had to go".

Well if we need him now because we are in a relegation fight then that must mean we didn't need him when we were sitting pretty in European contention.....

Allardyce had to go.....let me repeat that....ALLARDYCE HAD TO GO

The only problem is that we should have replaced him with a better Manager

Ist sentence totally lacking in any logic. We needed him when we were in European contention to stay there and not be involved in the relegation scrap we are now landed with.

Repeat your mantra as often as you like, we were fine-------look where we are now. Whoever came in, it still meant disruption for no good reason---a stupid risk.

But given the appointment they did make---absolute suicide. If we manage to stay up Kean will stay so Venkys keep face and retain a yes-man in the key position.

More anguish to come either way I think.

Too many professionals in the game are of the same view. Football is a game of opinions but you have to bow to the judgement of the professionals - there are too many of them advocating that it was crazy to axe Sam and appoint Kean for this to be wrong.

To all those who didn't understand Sam, the saying 'be careful what you wish for' has never been more apt.

What are you talking about!!!

If BFS had been replaced with another quality manager then we would not be in this mess. Most of the fans would have understood that Sam was let go so the new manager could come in.

What we have instead is Kean the clown pretending to be a.manager. Dropping players when they score. Make subs that make no sense to anyone apart from the clarets!

The soon that muppet is out of ewood the better. This is not bloody Football Manager 2011 its real life!

Why would you want to repeat something which makes you look like an absolute moron?

A manager who finished 10th with a shoestring budget the previous season and who had us looking comfortable this season (barring the terrible result at OT) never had to go.

When a manager really HAS to go, like Ince did and like Kean has to now, it would be seen as the right decision no matter who replaces him. Managers like that have to go as theyre worse than most of the other alternatives out there.

If you honestly think that was the case with Sam then maybe you should quit following football and stick to AFL.

Kean on Phil Jones below – why would you want to convince the surgeon otherwise if the surgeon says he is not ready?

“We have to respect if he (the surgeon) says a full Premier League game at that intensity might not be a good idea.

Hopefully we can convince him other wise. There is a chance he will be involved. I will be trying to convince the surgeon he is okay.”

WTF???????????

Is this guy smoking the same bananas as Bucky?

How is he planning to convince the surgeon? Does he think he knows more than the guy who operated on him? Complete madness.

The real problem is that Mrs Desai actually thinks that Kean is a better manager than Allardyce. The fact that we have a woman who knows nothing about the game making these key decisions is what will ultimately undermine the club. Under Sam, I have no doubt that we would now be sitting comfortably on or near the forty point mark with absolutely no worries about relegation. Instead, because of the crass stupidity of Desai and her brothers we now face five home games that might well decide our fate not just for this season but possibly for a generation or more. Remember, when we dropped out of the top flight in 1966 it took a quarter of a century to return. Unlike 1999, when Jack was still prepared to back the club financially, I suspect Desai and her brothers will retreat back to India and sell anything that's not nailed down to recoup their outlay if we drop into the Championship.

The sacking of Sam did not need to happen and if the woman had a clue about the game he would still be here and we wouldn't be worrying about relegation. Instead she opted to gamble on putting her little puppet in charge. If we survive I suspect Kean will stay and if we go down I still expect him to stay because they won't be able to afford to replace him. We can only hope that this cross between Jim Iley and Paul Ince can actually learn to do the job he was so desperate to get.

You're making yourself look as daft as the previous poster.

Not wanting to bore you old bean, but the only part of the side Allardyce had improved during his time here, the defence, looked shambolic and still does, that in my book is taking us backwards and was reason enough to sack him.

All the Allardyce supporters keep throwing this line out, nobody knows what would have happened Did you see his last game in charge? that was the worst performance since Wigan away under Ince and on that form we were going down, make no mistake about that.

On the form of one game? How about looking at our position in the table for the whole season at the time? I think that would indicate whether Sam was doing a decent job or not, which he was.

Gav---are you losing your marbles?

Sam's last game in charge was away at Bolton which we were unlucky to lose. Nothing like the capitulation at Wigan.

This is complete rubbish---just admit you hated the guy and forget about any logic to it.

4 points above the relagation zone someone said recently, hardy safe.

We were desperately unlucky to lose at Bolton and were the better side that day in my opinion, after we equalised it looked as though we would win the game, unfortunately Bolton responded where we switched off for a minute after scoring!

Yes I have to agree, I was refering to the United game.

Gav---it was 5 points after 17 games. After 34 games it would have been 10 points if our form had continued the same. Currently its 1! All Kean has to do is get 10 points from the next 5 games and we're back on track. Easy eh?

And we won the next game! Unlike Ince!
