  1. 1. Should Steve Kean stay or go

Recommended Posts

He was a decent manager. He did a good job for us in trying circumstances. He wanted away. He got his wish......

He's gone

Ffs

Eh? Are you retarded or something? I never mentioned the bloke!

The only £5mill reference I can find is the January one!

Don't get emotional about it. It is either true or not. And considering that Roversmum is about as reliable as they come, I suspect it is more true than not.

You didn't? Easy mistake to make. You mention him more than my daughter mentions Justin Beiber

Wow.

Sam's sacking certainly exasperated me. Don't you mean exacerbated ?

How do you know the squad would "always have been close to relegation this year" ? For all you know, the squad under Sam could have made the top 4.

Or are you Mystic Meg ?

Our signings in the summer were Benjani and Diouf on loan. As Theno has said we are one of 14 clubs trying to avoid relegation at the start of every season. When you spend little and have a squad devoid of quality then the end result is usually a relegation battle- that's not mystic meg that's common sense Jim. You are ofcourse right we were headed for top 4 this season under Sam!!! That is message board gold- Mods could we have a 'most dilusional poster of the year' award as that comment wins it hands down!

Strange thing is Jim YOU said that we would be relegated this season if not next, so when did you think we would achieve top 4?!!lol!

I have listened to it as well there is no mention of money anywhere, merely that he wants two strikers and a midfield player.

Has this new £5 million pound quote appeared anywhere else- like the LET for example?

But there's no actual quote of him saying our budget is £5m.

The announcer says it just before Steve Kean speaks ...

"Blackburn Rovers Manager Steve Kean says he'll have an extra £5m ... this is in addition to the money left over ..." although I give you it was a quote and not Steve saying it personally on the broadcast. It was just before Steve spoke about the striker and midfielder needs.

The later newscasts go onto the story about Samba/Jones which is reported here.

Getting fed up now, it's what was said and it's there on the iplayer. It's not what I personally wanted to hear, but can't help that. I can only hope that there was more money than we thought in January or it's a smokescreen.

Answer the question Theno instead of backtracking. (I gave numerous examples of your revisionism)

"BRFC along with about 14 other clubs are in a relegation battle from the first kick of every new season."

"the fact that the relegation battle was Kean's making in the first place"

Those were your quotes not mine. We were 5 points off the relegation zone when Kean took over and ended up being 4 points off relegation. The squad was always a squad that was going to be close to the relegation zone this year- Sam being sacked exasperated that, you took however as if Kean is the modern version of Juande Ramos!

You simply can't grasp it can you imy? Yes we are in a relegation scrap from August but we were 5 points clear and relatively cruising a full two games before the half way mark with both of those games at home and against WHU and Stoke! Does that not translate logically to at least 10 points clear by the end of the season to you?

not getting emotional, just wanted to hear from the horses mouth thats all

from what I heard he didn't give much away about figures, the commentator said

Blackburn Rovers Manager Steve Kean says he'll have an extra £5m ... this is in addition to the money left over from january plus what is rasied from sales

No need to get touchy, Mum. I simply pointed out a fact. The announcer might mention the £5m budget, but there's no quote from the manager saying it. I'm sure it'll pop up somewhere if it's indeed true. Just sayin'.

Chelsea were undefeated and miles ahead of the opposition after the first quarter of games that should equate to how many points clear at the end of the season? Why did that not happen? It's football not a mathematical equation! Had this been last season we would have been about TEN points clear of relegation FACT, but its been a freak year.

IMO the single biggest difference in the team during Sam's reign this season and Keans has been the involvement of P Jones, I would love someone to work out our points total with or without him.

err.... Could it be cos their owner sacked their assistant manager for no good reason, disrupted the squad morale and their performances slumped as a result. Sound familiar does it?

Kinell imy you are raising arguments and then answering them yourself.

Most of what you said could be applied to Rovers, takes Kean and his managerial abilities out of the equation. Point still stands that football is not a mathematical equation- last season we would have been ten points clear of relegation.

What you are doing Theno is misdirecting-again, you've made an artform out of it.

Do you understand English because the way you twist words and meanings makes me wonder.

I was asking why you you were certain the squad was certain to be in relegation battle last season despite us having a very good manager in charge ?

I await a reply.

You had a reply and my response was clear and funnily enough in English.

The squad IMO with Sam was certain to be in a relegation battle because of the players we had left- average at best due to years of under investment- is that clear enough?

Now two questions for you-

1. You were certain that we would be relegated this season or next when Sam was in charge- so what's the difference between what I have said and your own thoughts?

2. You said we could have been top 4 contenders under Sam this season- can I ask what makes you say that?

Edit- Abbey not a chance of a reply, I'd give up asking.

Actually I don't This thread is full of people mentioning him, I didn't but you pick out my post to declare "he' gone etc" in banner font!

How is it an easy mistake to make if my post had about 5 words in it and Allardyce wasn't mentioned anywhere?

And instead of a simple apology you bluster on.

Finally I thought Theno had property rights to  !!

That doesn't surprise me at all. It ties in with the rumours a couple of months ago about the two brothers lining up a new big name manager and big name chairman, and Mrs Desai saying no thanks.

I agree the squad was average at best but that does not mean we "certain" to be in a relegation battle because we had a very good manager who knew what he was doing. In my opinion we would have finished at least better than the 10th place achieved in 2009-10.

I was worried at one stage about our form at one stage under Sam but always had faith in him to pull through - unlike Kean.

I didn't say we would finish in the top 4 - if you read it properly it was a rhetorical reply to your nonsense about the "certainty" of us being in a relegated battle under Sam.

Hope this clears it up in simple terms for your limited intellect.

What a nob you can be eh?
