For god sake imy, do you honestly think jim thought we'd finish top 4? I remember the conversation and it was simply jim saying who knows what could happen, you can't be certain of anything.

Also, why don't you and everyone else take those pathetic signatures off.

Does anyone think there is a chance, due to our positive results at the end of the season, that another club may come in for Kean? (Fulham perhaps?)

On par with my dreams of flying round the universe in a large duck with Will Riker as my XO.

Would be lovely - a straight swap for the now departed Hughes.

I am no great fan of Kean, but it is only fair to judge him over the entirety of his period in charge.

Isn't that 22 points from 21 games? I'm happy to judge him on that-----fail.

? Sigh.......

Yet Jim was adamant that Kean would drag us down.

The guy contradicts himself on a regular basis and has zero credibility.

Matty I don't want to make a big deal out of this but if I was to quote you saying something when it was clearly untruthful would you be happy?

I rarely mention my profession but Jim seems to have a bit of a fetish about teachers as he keeps mentioning it in most posts. I judge people on what they are like as people not by their professions.

I will no longer quote Jim in ANY post nor converse in dialogue with him on this forum- I can guarantee that he will either: 1. Quote me 2. Continue with his teacher fetish.

Of course it was hypothetical. Well done for understanding that much.

If you're an example of the current crop of teachers it's the nation's youth I feel sorry for.

In the meantime try to keep order with the no-hopers in 5C.

5C is primary school Jim, I teach Secondary  Regardless there is no such as a 'no hoper' kid.

This little fetish that you have about me and my profession needs to stop Jim, I am not that way inclined. Lets see how long it takes before you:

1. Quote me 2. Bring up teaching.

Is there a statistical table of all the managers performances of the premier league from last season just to see where Stephen Kean is in the rankings of that table ?

There seems to have been references made comparing big Sam with Kean but what about Kean and the rest of the prem managers including those sacked during that season.

Lack of class? For being sick of seeing post after post with a ridiculous signature commenting on people's line of work or taking posts out of context or making up quotes?

Pretty pathetic, wouldn't you say Bucky?

If you judge every manager over 21 games, then yes. You would also most likely have sacked Howard Kendall, another rookie, at Christmas just before our 13 wins out of 14 game run. Such decisiveness can swing both ways.

Hang on!!! You said "Its only fair to judge Kean on the entirety of his games in charge"! So I took your advice and did. Then you tell me that's wrong and I would have sacked Howard Kendall!

Lol! Not saying you were wrong, just pointing out the possible implications of reaching so definitive a judgement at this stage :D

I've seen imy absolutely rip jims arguments on two or three separate occasions in the last week. Imy has quoted in his signature something that jim actually said, whereas jim's signature (I think he set it up before imy) is just something that he has made up.

Then you come out disparaging his career. On the basis of what? You don't like his opinions? ("I don't like his signature").

Eh? I've made no comment on any posters occupation.

The fact people are shows where this msg board has ended up.

Come on Matty the signature stuff has been going on for years now, hardly the worse thing in the world, lightens the mood as far as I'm concerned.

As for occupations, if people use there occupations to try and discredit other board members, you reap what you saw I’m afraid.

It all started around 2007/2008 you know, that flag should never have been made! :D

Of the 8 games in Kean's reign that you exclude via the timeframe of your fact, we won four - 50% - which is also a fact, like it or not. And about as relevant.

I am no great fan of Kean, but it is only fair to judge him over the entirety of his period in charge.

Basically I've formed my views on Kean on the entirety of his period in charge. Two wins against a WBA side about to sack their manager. A win against a Liverpool side that had lost confidence in the manager and who didn't really play for him - as results since Kenny took over have shown. A win against a Bolton side that had gone on holiday after the FA Cup debacle. Admittedly, the first half performance against Wolves was outstanding and fair play to him for that.

Considering the platform he was left to build on I really don't believe that we should have been sucked into such a desperate fight to stay up. However, that is now in the past and the future is all that matters. Our owners clearly want Kean in charge and that really is the end of the matter.

It is now up to Kean to buy wisely in the summer and hit the ground running from game one next season. If he gets some wins under his belt early on he can end the negativity that surrounds him, if he doen't the pressure will simply increase. However, in fairness to Kean, much will depend on how much backing he is going to get from the owners and at the moment that is the great unknown.

Very accurate summary - the jury is still out whether he can breed a winning mentality within the club.

So are you confident enough in his ability to take on the wager then? Shall we say a nice round £100 to get the ball rolling?

The top six is pretty much decided already, barring the order.

7th is possible, maybe unlikely but stranger things have happened.

No club outside the top six could honestly be that certain of a 7th finish.

I'd be happy to stick my neck on the line and say we won't be involved in another relegation battle next season!
