47er Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 You wouldn't swap Salgado and Givet for Sagna and Gibbs/Clichy? Oh dear! Can't you read? I wouldn't swap our back 5 for their back 5! Just in case you've forgotten, the other 3 are Robbo/Jones/Samba. Salgado and Givet are not as good as Arsenal's full-backs but they are good enough given the strength of the other 3. Now--------would you?

JAL Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 You wouldn't swap Salgado and Givet for Sagna and Gibbs/Clichy? Gibbs is rubbish Ferrit ! Absolutely overrated long may he continue to play for Arsenal before he drops down the leagues.

If you meant the full back 5, why not say that, as you have now? So in fact, my ability to read is perfectly fine, but thanks for the concern. Make you posts clear, and they won't be misunderstood.

Having reread it I understand where you're coming from.I wouldn't have read it that way but I can see why you did. So "sorry".

Gav Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 You're on ignore Gav so i read you courtesy of EIT. And you're still a twerp making assertions to provoke. He took a rag-tag team of nobodies and turned them into a team even though we were dead broke. The football wasn't pretty though, a lot of 1-0's as I recall. And NOBODY COMPLAINED that we weren't playing like Real Madrid! Allardyce type of manager. You've quoted someone else and had a pop at me? No need for the name calling 47er, shows a lack of class As for your comments about Kendals side being “a rag-tag team of nobodies” who didn’t play pretty football and Kendal was an Allardyce type of manager Mindboggling You put Individuals after your statement. If you meant the full back 5, why not say that, as you have now? So in fact, my ability to read is perfectly fine, but thanks for the concern. Make you posts clear, and they won't be misunderstood. You need to go and lie down 47er, you've had a right mare on this thread
thenodrog Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 As for your comments about Kendals side being a rag-tag team of nobodies who didnt play pretty football and Kendal was an Allardyce type of manager Kendall made us into a team that ground out points by first and foremost stopping our opponenets scoring. 1-0 seemed to be our standard result the season we came up. Did we not also set some club record for games played without being defeated in the same season? found it http://www.roversonline.com/history-season-reviews/1979-season

Interesting that more of our wins were not 1-0 than were. We also didn't win any of our first 6 home games and I don't recall even a murmer of "Kendall Out"
seekay Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Ah but there was no internet in them days. Internet's great but it certainly messes up things more than need be.

RevidgeBlue Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Comparisons between Sam's Ewood record and Kendall's are completely misplaced and unfair to Kendall imo. Kendall was genuinely successful and achieved a promotion and near promotion in successive seasons. To prove this wasn't a fluke he went on to achieve several major trophies including a European success at Everton. Sam was successful in as far as he avoided relegation and managed a mid table position the following season. That can easily and justifiably be seen as success given the financial constraints placed upon him by our previous owners but arguably Kendall had to operate under far more trying circumstances still.

Also unfair because one of these managers was operating in the PREMIER LEAGUE!
deryck guyler's spoon Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Look at the gates, talk about glory hunters for the last 6 games of the season I reckon there were around 10k away fans at Ewood for that Wednesday game which I think was a night match. Right in the middle of a national steel strike. Loads of burly Yorkshiremen shouting "whadda we want? 10%!" or summat like that. Sorry for digressing but it's a diversion from talking about West Ham's new boss.

Also Rev, we didn't have any expectations, never mind high ones! anything was a bonus and Kendall took us on a roller coaster ride before being snapped up by Everton. Good time to be a Rover for sure.

Don't recall that match, but Wednesday have always had terrific away support, a bit naughty back then also. Mate of mine went to Hillsborough around that time and was situated on the Kop, as this had been closed by the FA to home fans after a riot at Oldham the week before. So a terrace that held over 20k, had around 1k Rovers fans on, which was a strange sight as you can imagine. Sorry for digressing.
Mattyblue Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 wow Blackburn in div 3, couldn't have imagined that. Thi dont know yer born lad
OscarRaven Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Take it he is still here then, I've scanned the full page and barely found a mention of him? Oh well I'll try and cheer myself up by betting on him being the first to be sacked in the new season then. I really hope he makes me look silly and we have a blistering start to the season.

Sadly he is still hear. when this thread has a new post added to it, I hope to read he has gone. Where are the protestors now the season is finished. They were all wanting to protest during the season, venkys and Kean out. Rovers safe and the protestors silent. Very strange.

The wind changes less than your average persons opinion. Saving us from relegation that he caused, and only doing so by a virgins chin hair, should have had him thrown on the scrap heap quicker than it takes him to comb his hair.

I'm really worried about this transfer window. He seems to think Roque and Diouf are the solution to our striking problem.
Craigman Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 When does Kean appear in court for his drink driving allegations ?
Ferrit Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 100% agree with that. I'm really worried about this transfer window. He seems to think Roque and Diouf are the solution to our striking problem. Which would leave us with pretty much the same options up front as it did last season. Says everything about the man really.
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 When does Kean appear in court for his drink driving allegations ? Today according to this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/blackburn-rovers/8517565/Blackburn-Rovers-manager-Steve-Kean-charged-with-drink-driving.html Also the LT's crime reporter is at the court and has seen Kean arrive: http://twitter.com/#!/schadd3
