Blue n White Rover Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I'm "gooing off" his record so far too - and his transfer dealings are average at best. Do In trust him with the cash ? No I do not, and I don't trust a word he says either. It's been reported on another thread that we might have £20m plus cash from players sales to spend this summer - the great shame in all this is that we don't have a proper manager such as Mark Hughes or Sam Allardyce to spend it. Please use that last sentence to have another pop at Sam. So Sam can spend it on another £6m striker who scored 7 goals in 2 seasons for us?
Gav Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 One point about RSC, Gav. He had played hardly any football since he was last at Ewood. He'd been injured for most of his time at City, and when he did make one of his rare appearances for them, he looked very poor. This was a loan signing made in January at a considerable cost to the club, so surely, the least you would expect is that we sign someone who is at least fit enough to contribute until the end of the season? Again, Kean is paid to make the right judgements on behalf of the club, so rather than put it down to being worth a gamble, it really must be seen as bad judgement? If you look at who was available Den it doesn’t make very good reading, was RSC the best option? As we needed a striker, worth a gamble? Kean clearly thought so, error in judgement? Maybe, but possibly the only option with Coyle already having snapped Sturridge, up and Robbie Kean not wanting to leave London.
Parsonblue Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 By the same token people who have seen Rochina in the reserves are raving about him, I was told he’ll probably make a move to a top 4 club in a couple of years if he progresses like he’s doing currently, no release clauses hopefully! I must admit that I think Rochina looks an excellent signing. I've been very impressed with him and, as I said before, he has improved with every game in the Reserves. As you say, let's hope we can keep him for at least a year or two!
Gav Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 With funds now available, apparently anywhere from 25m to 35m depending who’s inside source you believe , this is setup perfectly for Mark Hughes to return to the club. Can you imagine what Hughes could do with that amount of money at a club like ours? If only boys and girls, if only.

I would agree with that Parson, he is a real talent and if we had kept the squad from last season, would have been all for us looking at Barca B for another gem, they can play those lads. But, we have lost Jones and probably Samba as well, we need at least two midfielders and two strikers and the quality we need will really set us back close on £30,000,000 to cover those positions!
T.J.Newton Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 did kean fly out to india today as mentioned by nico last night, if so it yet again seems like an unusual time to go whilst 1 of are major players is on the verge of leaving. sorry abou my retardo spelling ect.., on 1st post

OscarRaven Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Perhaps he does have an eye for talent after all.... found a star solicitor to help him worm out his drink driving. Claiming his drink was spiked... "Freeman Solcitors’ high profile successes include Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson who escaped punishment for driving on the motorway hard shoulder by claiming he had a particularly bad case of diarrhoea.." I reckon I can guess who gave him the referal.
jim mk2 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Good to know that while the Jones deal was being set up over the past 2 days our manager instead of concentrating on fighting to keep him was in court on a drink-drive charge. With Jones apparently going and Samba likely to follow him we are going to have to reconstruct the entire defence this summer never mind address the other known weaknesses in the team. This club is a shambles on and off the field. Never mind, at least Bucky Rover brightened up a gloomy day with his absolutely beautiful post this morning.
Gav Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 With Jones apparently going and Samba likely to follow him we are going to have to reconstruct the entire defence this summer never mind address the other known weaknesses in the team. To replace those two alone would be difficult for an experienced manager, but whilst I still maintain he did well in January, he's going to have to pull some rabbits out of the hat to sort this mess out Jim, I completely agree

Gav Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 First time I've seen a downbeat post from you Gav. I’m trying to pretend I don’t care Den, keep telling myself I couldn’t care less, but the more I tell myself I don’t care the more I’m getting wound up Anyway i've just opened a can of ale, put some Bob Dylan on, and things seem much better now
broadsword Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 You must be in a state if Bob Dylan's cheering you up.
Neil Weaver Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 You must be in a state if Bob Dylan's cheering you up. At 23:01 it'll be Leonard Cohen.
Gav Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 You must be in a state if Bob Dylan's cheering you up. Well we could get into that, but we won't. At 23:01 it'll be Leonard Cohen. Lets hope not Neil
Kamy100 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Interesting to see what Keain comes back with after this trip to India, I believe that he will be there for a few days. I firmly believe that while Jerome Anderson remains as the key advisor to Venky's then Kean is almost unsackable. I suspect that Jerome Anderson will be involved in advising Kean about potential signings, he is well connected so maybe be able to get some decent players for us, it was his connections that got us Rochina, Formica and J Jones, I am still uncomfortable about a football agent having so much influence but there is liIttle that we can do about this and I guess we just have to accept the situation.

It would be perfect if he did come back though.

Well if he's bringing players like that in then I don't see the problem with him. If BPF is correct in saying Venky's want RSC then to be fair JA has not done much wrong besides get his son a contract.
bob fleming Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 23:58 - "I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour. But heaven knows I'm miserable now". Anyway, let's cut the crap. Just who did spike Kean's drink? Saunders? Andrews?
Roost Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Had his drink spiked? Yeh, of course you did Steve - did you think that when you were a little unsteady on your feet whilst walking back to your car for the 'hop' back to Surrey? Spiked or not, drunk is drunk, and you should have never got behind the wheel of your car. You digust me. If Freeman 'gets you off', I hope you have to make amends in a future life. No wonder players want away.
T.J.Newton Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Kean seems to be putting all his efforts into signing all of the loan players even though only j jones made any kind of contribution and that wasnt as great as some make out(he was just the best of a bad bunch for me). We need fresh blood to get the club invigorated and stregthened, if we just sign the players we had on loan that still only leaves us with what we had last season(stating the obvious i know!). The p jones deal should be completed tomorow id of thought so i think the club should be trying to get a major new signing in within a week or two to show we/they mean buisnes and that where not just a selling club. We also need to get hoilet signed up asap, as hes now are best young player and the thought of losing him for nothing or having to sell him on the cheap makes me cringe even more the jones going(at least we look to be getting a reasonable fee for him) as he only as a year to go on his contract

I don't like Port.
