pancini Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Why would any younger player want to play for him except the fact that he has been praised by 2 of our most promising youngsters for having the faith to play them and bring them on which both Olsson and Hoilett have said

rebelmswar Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I never mentioned the owners. I'm talking why any player worth his salt would want to come and play for the present manager. You also have to ask yourself - would our best players want to bugger off if we were not managed by a cast off from Fraggle Rock. I personally would feel more comfortable, and entertained, if Gogo were hopping back and forth on the touchline.
Blue n White Rover Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I never mentioned the owners. I'm talking why any player worth his salt would want to come and play for the present manager. Sorry misread it. Personally, I wouldn't want to play for SK either, however, you don't necessarily have to come and play for the manager. Come for higher wage, more exposure, to play in the best league in the world and to even help progress your career. Makes us sound like a stepping stone club, but no matter who owns us or manages us, we'll always succumb to the bigger clubs, so in essence, we are a stepping stone club.

broadsword Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 He tested "positive" on the breathalyser! He's such a "positive" person.......I hate you Steve Kean!
Blue n White Rover Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 The manager is the head of the team though and the voice. So you honestly believe Antonio Valencia came to Wigan to play under Steve Bruce? Gyan came to Sunderland to play under him? Cole went to Liverpool to play under Hodgson? I agree to an extent it is an important factor, but not the be all and end all of it. Money talks.

Blue n White Rover Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 No. But I bet a bunch said no cause he was. I bet a bunch said no to Allardyce simply because of the style of football he plays, yet he still attracted the likes of Salgado, Djorkaeff, Okocha, Campo etc. Can Kean do that? We'll have to wait and see. Looking at what J.Jones has been saying he definitely wants to play for Kean, likewise Junior. If anything "positive" about our manager, is the fact he talks a good game, and if he continues, he may well spring up a few surprises.

rebelmswar Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 To an extent. That is a major break through on here.
davulsukur Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Just read some comments on Villa's hunt for a new manager BBC Radio 5 live's Pat Murphy added: "I understand that it was the hostility of some Villa supporters against Steve McClaren that turned [Villa owner] Randy Lerner off the prospect of even giving an interview to an experienced manager with a fine club track record, excellent contacts and a commitment to bringing on young players."So McClaren's failings with England four years ago are deemed decisive when assessing his pedigree at club level. "I understand Rafa Benitez wanted £30m minimum to spend on new players, Lerner knocked that one back." 2 people who have been linked to Rovers in the possible departure of Steve Kean. Rafa seemingly wanted £30million and the fans basically stopped Steve Maccer getting the job.
broadsword Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 benitez wanted a sackload of cash to fritter around, well gee, I'm shocked.
thenodrog Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Season ticket renewal arrived this morning Kamy and for the first time ever, I have no excitement about the new season whatsoever. It will go in the drawer for now. It could very well be something that happens to most people as they get that little bit older - no matter what is happening at the club. I just don't know about that. Same here den.
PAFELL Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Same here den. Surprised at you and Den. I cannot help believe that if you are a Rovers supporter, you support the club no matter wh the manager is or the owners. I can understand not having confidence in the coming season that Rovers will have a good season. But through thick and thin, you support your team. But each to their own I suppose.
BangkokRover Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Don't all supports follow their team through thick and thin?

We are saying how we feel about the current situation PAFELL. If you're surprised about a rovers fan feeling that way, you can't have been reading this site and the LT. There are plenty feeling the same way.

But when a player is wanted by several clubs, the manager's charisma and experience will make a difference. So"charisma and experience"------sadly our manager has neither.
BangkokRover Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I think is fairly well known that Kean is here to stay at the moment. I really don't like the guy, purely as i don't think he is up to the job. But i will still chear on the team. I will say once again Rovers fans bottled it when we drew with blackpool. The club were Ready for protests but they never happened.

In what way were the club ready? the supporters did what supporters do, supported the team
BangkokRover Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 It was reported on here barriers were up and fans were not allowed to walk in front of the jack walker stand

Sorry I'm not having that. You tell that to the away fans that sold out the last few away games. You need bottle to travel all that way and sing your heart out despite the trouble we were in. The away fans showed a lot of bottle this season. The 2nd half of the Blackpool game was completely mental, the supporters showed bottle and gave there all and in turn the players showed bottle by getting a last minute goal. We didn't bottle it, we showed bottle and supported the team through thick and thin and in the end we stayed up despite the whole footballing world predicting we didn't have the bottle and we would get relegated. We showed plenty of bottle this season.
Brfcrule1 Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Bangkok Rover & Pafell both of you have to understand yes the supporters have to support the team through thick & thin I agree with you there but it is very hard to support the management when they continually lie to us & make different statements to different sources. By that I mean Venkys & Kean stated we did not need to sell P.Jones or any of our young players then when one & possibly more look to abandon the sinking ship it is very hard to support the management & owners & it makes believing anything they say impossible.

BangkokRover Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I am not talking about the support that was given to the team when they were playing but after the game the fans have every right to show their feelings that a Kean results are not good enough.
