Finishing 15th? How did you feel when we were in the bottom 4 of the 3rd division?

Yeah, it went tits up fom where I was watching EIT. [just in case you're struggling with your own questions]. There's a lot of gloss now being put on an awful season from November onwards.

8 points from the last four games, under extreme pressure, was the primary reason we stayed up and the most positive part of Kean's tenure to date. Many seem to be giving him a further chance based on the evidence of those last four games and the fact the owners are continuing to support him fully.

There is no guarantee a more experienced and established manager would do well should Kean be removed.

However, the right person should unite the club again from top to bottom and also help with attracting better players and bigger names with all this money we supposedly have available to spend. It may also help retaining the services of the better players already at the club.

It still went down to the final game though onlyonejackwalker, sure it would have taken some freak results but Rovers could have gone down on the final day.

I'm not one of the fickle, it's going to take more than 8 points from 4 games and a last day survival to convince me he is the right man for the job. If he is found guilty in August with his 'off the field issues' there is no chance I will back him.

Why do we have to go through this again? In any case, if we do, you forgot to mention the dodgy ref decisions, I wonder why that was?

Oh yeah, I had forgotten that it was only the Rovers and in particular Steve Kean that experiences dodgy refereeing decisions. All other clubs are amazingly immune to those problems. Poor Keano, even the refs are picking on him.

I'm with you RVR. I have no idea why we have recruited a bargain basement manager with zero history or credentials, whilst supposedly reaching for the stars. The more knowlegeable and informed posters on here may answer this question one day, but don't hold your breath.

I don't think anyone actually backs Kean apart from the owners and his agent, but few of us can see any point in whingeing about him when it seems fairly obvious that he is going nowhere and therefore we have to hope he does well unless we want to see our team do badly. Unless his position becomes totally untenable then I don't think the owners will get rid. I don't back Kean but I do try hard to back the club and the team, which means not moaning all the time about the manager. Criticise him when you can see things he's actually done wrong, and there have been plenty and no doubt will be again, but moaning for the sake of moaning achieves nothing.

I obviously back the players as a whole and I've been backing the owners. I just can't back the manager.

Which is what I am doing.

Harking back to last season is pointless now. Time to cut Steve Kean some slack and give him a chance to show his mettle. He is potentially a top-class manager in the making and his ambitions of achieving a Champions League place not unrealistic given the quality of signings he has indentified and likely to come on board. I can't wait for the new season to start.

I challenge anyone to give me an example of a positive, besides being able to talk at great length and with correct syntax - a huge improvment over the Wince tenure - and promise to rope the moon ala Jimmy Stewart.

Nice drawings on what he would like the players to do is also out, my four year old can do that.

I NEED something tangible.

Holy ######.

Took the blue pill this morning?

Potentially top-class? All those quoting Champions League finishes for the Rovers need to give their head a major wobble.

I think the CL is definitely possible. Remember that SK is one of the most respected coaches in the game, highly rated by all his peers and will be highly sought-after by the so-called big clubs when Rovers start vying for the top honours over the next few seasons. I know he can be too bullish at times but the man knows what he is talking about - give him a chance.

It wasn't funny the first time.

I'm beginning to worry about Jim. Either he's got some new medication or Nurse has given him the wrong pills by mistake

Neither Mum. I'm feeling very well thank you. I've just changed my mind and opinions on one or two subjects - and I'm thinking of voting Tory next time too. Of course I could change my mind again...........

The risk element is clearly high with Kean given his lack of managerial experience, however every manager does need a bit of time to properly put their stamp on the team. He could still turn out to be a top manager, I think it is a bit silly to completely write him off, has it all to prove though.

Good job Allardyce didn't need time John - or we would have been relegated after Ince.

True, Sam knew what he was doing when in first came in and knows how to get results (his experience obviously helps).

It was clear Kean, at the start of his tenure, did not know the way he wanted to play and his best eleven, especially during his/our rocky spell. However there were signs of improvement in the last few matches (there had to be) - guess the point I am trying to make is that to say he will never become a good manager (completely writing him off) is a bit foolish as he still could turn out to be decent.

I really hope for everyone's sake (not least Rovers) that the doubters (me included) are forced to eat humble pie because it doesn't look like Kean is going anywhere any time soon.

I have my bib ready and will ask for seconds.

If we spend 50 million without selling Chris "Iwannabigclub" Samba I will eat it off of Sams arse after a hectic training day and close encounters with a cornetto.

Er in the light of recent events, I do not think Sam can be praised too much. After all, did he not bring Kean to Rovers?
