  1. 1. Should Steve Kean stay or go

Recommended Posts

It does look like this unlikely rumour is getting less and less likely by the hour.

As for the poll "should Keen stay or go?"

He would be a fool to walk away regardless of whether he has had his transfer funds removed. Can't see other clubs hiring him - the interview question "what was your biggest achievement at your last club" would have a short answer!

MH and his back room staff would cost circa 5m pa, seem to recall that is what Nicko said they were after prior to joining Fulham.

Together with Sam and Keans pay off's we'll need another facility just for management costs.

I would love to see him back but like most can't see him as the ring master.

Kean played the game and when you play the game you either win or lose, no sympathy is warranted.

True but in a way thats true for all of us.

I am not sure that a proven premier manager would risk their reputation with the uncertainty here. So many things are conspiring against us. Owners who are far away, with a business culture that is very different, surrounded by advisers with their own agenda. I am not sure that Sam would have hacked it. The owners objectives are business driven which includes leveraging the club to suit their business needs. Communication is poor from Pune and without a trusty lieutenantat at Ewood to act as traffic cop, people are left to their own conclusions. All of this makes it very difficult to drive a football club forward and attract the talent.

If Kean left now he would do so with his "reputation" intact. If he stays and things continue to go pear shaped, he will be seen to have stayed for the money not the principle and with an unproven reputation remaining.

My belief is that the owners will sell, having recognized that this was an experiment that has become too much of a distraction to their core business. They will recognize that it would have been cheaper and easier to sponsor the shirts and pay for the team to visit India.

Really?

By all accounts, Kean is seen as a liar, a backstabber and, if what some people have written is correct, most English clubs wouldn't touch him with a bargepole if he was unemployed.

Got to agree that karma is indeed a bitch.

I hope the interivew clears things up but I usually hate Kean interivews as he lives in a stupid little bubble.

still looking forward to the interview in hope it might be helpful.

Presumably you'll be a lot happier if he comes out and says that the owners are skint liars, the club's a mess and we're nailed-on relegation certs then?

has steve kean had his press conferance yet?

I would like to knowe when that is too, can;t watch but want a transcript.

based on cryers blog I'll assume he will ask the right questions.

they are worth 650 million at least so he won't say that, the club being in a mess has resulted in him getting his dream job so he will not mention that, and even when he had not won a game for 4 month steve Kean still said we were on a good run and never mentioned relegation so he won;t mention that.

I expect him to say there is still a halth transfer budget, thats what I expect.

I think you are wrong with that vaulation of the family wealth as they are not even registering on the Forbes list of Rich Indians

Well wikipedia blame them.

QPR owners worth 23 BILLION when they going to sign some top players.

Actually, blame you for not knowing how to understand what you're reading.

It says VH Group is worth Rs. 700 crore.

Rs. = Rupees

Crore = 10 million

700 x 10 million is 7 billion.

7 billion Rupees in Uk Sterling comes out at just shy of £100 million. We'd be in better stead if the fella who won the Euromillions came and bought us. EDIT: That is, if we believe Wikipedia.

EDIT: I'll stand corrected on your superior Wikipedia searching skills.
