A young Batistuta, a young Rooney

What kind of idiot makes these comments.

He obviously doesn't talk to the fans but is trying to buy time with the press, I think some fall of it, but other are working him out.

I just really hope Kean is not as big a moron as I think he as the moment. He better back up his words, if he's in the bottom three after 10 games he better go.

Currently he's let go 20 million worth of talent and purchased 4-5 million.

See if any other chairman will buy his bull.

Kean is so full of BS.

Kean's got nowhere to run or hide tomorrow. For his sake alone, I, hope he and his team deliver tomorrow at home to what is one of the easier premier league fixtures.

All the talking stops tomorrow cruz, maybe Keans right and he is like a young Rooney, time will tell.

Kean can't be right.

1. Rooneys still only 25.

2. He made his debut in the Premier League at the age of 16.

2. Wenger was described him as the best young English prospect when he was 17.

3. Man Utd paid a record 26.5 million for him when he was 18.

I hope Goodwillie's a massive success for us but at the moment the closest similarity is that they both appear to have a tendency to think with their dicks when they are off the field.

I know several fans that have spoken to Kean, some last season and some in HK, and they all say he comes across as a really nice bloke, knowledgeable and really positive.

But results on the pitch are what matters, and he’ll be judged on results and results alone.

Maybe Kean thinks David does the same things Rooney did when he was younger. Just a wild guess. Not quite as fun and knicker twisting as taking his comments literally though

Sounds more like a Scottish man saying 'my dick is bigger than yours' type of comment.

Has it been asked to Stephen Kean, what is his target for the coming season with Rovers.

he is quoted as saying yesterday to the media "We want to be in the top half of the table this season, two good cup runs and to assemble a squad capable of pursuing all three targets."

Maybe Kean should keep his trap shut until we start winning football matches.

Absolutely.

I appreciate that he's trying to make it sound like he knows what he's doing, but keep your head down, focus on getting results and leave the talking to other people.

I can only hope that Venky's bite the bullet with Kean, should he continue his managerial form to date, before it's too late.

We just about managed to stay up after Ince, thanks to Big Sam, but even that was left late in the day.

to be fair I don't think SK should be criticised for this hyperbole. maybe its a bvit of motivational stuff which is fine by me. BUT he doesn't half set himself up for a fall. he is obviously an intelligent guy so putting it all together says that he is taking big gambles with this and other statements ... big risks for big rewards. question is has he the tools or integrity to reap them?

I think he's referring to the way he plays football. Harasses defenders and chases lost causes but can also create something from nothing.

But carry on anyway

I think Goodwillie made his debut at 16 years old and was the youngest scorer in the SPL, similar to Rooney was in the PL.

Perhaps we are supposed to take some sort of average between the underwhelming corporate speak of Paul Hunt and the OTT hyperbole of Steve Kean?

So kind of like a hyperbola for the hyperbole...?

You can do what you want.

I'm just glad that the football starts again tomorrow.

A summer of bullsh!t, posturing and mudslinging via the internet will be replaced by an autumn of legitimate judgement via results on the pitch.
