It's a tough one and we'll see how knee jerk Venkys are here, I'm not suggestion he be sacked but if we go a few more weeks losing every game then all of a sudden the transfer window is shut and a new manager wouldn't be able to do his thing.

23 games and 21 pts now..............kind of scary too think that equates to about 8pts after the 10 games people seem to be advocating for him. Motivation and team selection are definitely not strong points for kean so its fair to say without transfer dealings any other manager could hardly fail to do better with the garbage he inherits, park the bus and shut up shop simply are'nt in keans skillset and thats dangerous when the team is this bad.

The hysterics going on in this thread is too funny, and not funny laugh out loud, more funny shoot my myself in the head. Calm down, its the first game of the season and there's along way too go, 37 games to be precise. Can we also give it around 5/6 games before we starting calling for him to be sacked.

are you for real...........you know last season actually happened as much as we'd all like to forget it the summer holidays don't automatically wipe the slate clean, he was useless and clueless and i don't see how 8 weeks on holiday will have made him less gormless.

It's his first full season in charge, I'm prepared to give him a chance. Of course last season after a bright start, we were incredibly poor but I really believe that with Rochina and Formica ready to come through and our full defence back we will be alot stronger through the season. Goodwillie looked good, Petrovic we haven't seen yet and with the prospect of more signings I'm quite positive. Surely you have to take into account that our centre backs were out today. Every club would struggle in that situation.

Ok nobody hates Steve Kean interviews more then me, but at least this one was 100% right, I was really expecting a load of bull.

"11 left 3 players arrived the squad is not big enough"

"3/4 CB's missing compared to last Wolves game Jones, Samba, Givet"

"The squad is not big enough and we will spend the budget in the next two weeks to ensure the squad is improved"

"Formica took his goal well but missing Nzonzi's impact in midfield and losing Givet to illness last minute was a blow"

"we don't have enogh players so main job buy players plus loan to increase the squad"

"we need competition for places"

"Givet and Samba likely back next game, Nelsen few weeks"

Chris,

Rovers have had plenty of time to get a centre back in to replace the loss of Jones (maybe not in quality but someone who could do a job at this level). You can't prevent injuries, but you can lessen the impact and strengthen your ability to react to those situations if your squad is big enough. Did the lack of defenders kill us today? Probably but the situation we are in is largely self inflicted.
