It is not just one game. Yes he was not able to field Samba etc - but there should be replacements in the squad to cover. It is good having a team of youn players, but they need an experience manager. Rovers do not have one.

Sorry--I meant Venkys will stick by him for now. They are the ones to make the final judgement. I made mine a while ago!

PS--we could have done with Diouf today.

He's a slight victim as he's had the rug pulled from under him over transfers, but don't forget that he is managing in the PL with a fat contract- a position he is in no way qualified for.

We are the victims

It's the club that's the victim.

I regret to say it but the people entrusted to manage Jack's affairs, will have distroyed Jack's dream in less than 12 months, by selling the club to our current owners.

Not sure he'll get much sympathy Matty, but like us, he was promised so much and they've delivered very little.

Lack of passion today .And its the first game. Manager has to cop the flak for that.

Not sure we lacked passion 47er, but the shape and personnel wasn't right, it’s going to be a long season if these issues aren’t addressed.

Sorry chaps but Kean is implying losing Givet was one of the main problems today, I don't think he would have made the difference, we were inept and again short on ideas, that's down to Kean. Is the taxi not waiting

Let's not forget that Kean has seemingly had the rug pulled from underneath him in respect of a supposedly huge budget at the start of the summer. Kean himself has admitted that there was an issue with the bank and the restructuring of the clubs debt, but is now saying that we do have money to spend.

It's alright saying that we should have replaced Phil Jones months ago, but everyone on here has known for a long time that we haven't necessarily had the finances to do it.

I might be in the minority in thinking this, but I will judge Kean and the owners when the transfer window shuts. If we haven't fixed the problems by then I will be just as disappointed and angry with the club as anyone else on here.

I actually thought that we were very good offensively today and on another day both Rochina and Goodwillie would have scored and we would have won the game. As it turns out, they didn't score and our shocking defensive performance cost us at least a draw if not the three points.

As everyone in football knows, you build from the back, if you cant defend youre buggered, Kean hasnt grasped that one yet!

I don't think they can afford to sack Kean. The compo would be too much, plus the cost of hiring an actual manager (rather than a weak imitation who gives a good press conference).

The problem isn't so much Kean, he's a mere manifestation of the root cause, the same as a depleted first team squad, lack of a commercial sponsor, lack of executive box uptake etc are symptoms too. We are suffering from a bad case of Venkyitis.

EDIT: Will be very interesting to see what happens if we get to the end of October with 10 points or less. Will Venky's bin Kean or will they give the club up as a bad job?

Let's face it, people were poised to call for his head after today. What if we win next week? What then? I'm sure it'll be all quiet again until the next bad result.

The one thing Venky's have been consistent in has been their support for Kean. You think they'd sack him after one game?

Personally, I'd give him ten games, within reason. Can't say fairer than that.

That comes across like blind optimism.

The only thing in his favour is that (according to physioroom.com) Samba and Nelsen will both be back next week but that fixture may come around too soon.

Following the end of Kean's honeymoon period - where he beat WBA twice and Liverpool, as well as QPR in the cup on a run of 4 wins in 6 - he has since managed 2 wins in his last 16 matches against PL oppostion (including an FA cup defeat to Villa).

Add to this our current, dessimated squad, I have no hope we can win against Villa. What makes you think otherwise?

I really didn't want to get on Kean's case this evening but I'm being convinced otherwise by a lot of other posts.

the great thing about this season is Kean doesn't have Sams point to hide behind.

The table will not lie.

Whether he turns out to be a genius who discovered the next Rooney and Batistuta or is turns out to be useless, I think we will know after 10-12 games.

I'm not saying we WILL win, Jisty. That wasn't my point.

It's possible, though. And if we do, many posters will scurry back into the woodwork until the next defeat.

Rubbish. How many games has Kean had to prove himself - lot more than 10

Kean's overall record is not good enough - I would guess that if he could start picking up results consistency, there would be less fans calling for him to be sacked.

For me personally,Kean has the first 10 games this season to prove he is not the managerial nugget I think he is.Those 10 games include 2 versus newly promoted sides.

We barely scraped survival last time with him in charge for just half a season,we CANNOT afford to p1ss around if matters have not improved on the points/games front. He's a novice who is not cut out for the top flight......

But Venky's think the Sun shines out of his arse?

Nor have a lot of people on this board realised it. Some will remain positive, with regards to Kean, even if Rovers got relegated.

He has had about 20 odd games already. Ok today it was all down to Kean - but the owners as well. Kean must have listened to Kentario, gone along with their ideas when he went to India. Hence the mess the club is in still.

After 10 to 12 games, it will be too late.

Absolutely no excuses, a full pre season in charge. If he wasn't getting what he needed from the owners then he shopuld have walked and told the supporters why. Injuries are part and parcel of the game. For most of the season when Sam took over from Ince, we didn't have a striker and that resulted in Samba playing half a dozen games or so up front. Did Sam complain, no - he simply made do with what he had and got bloody good results.

But once again the forum is rife with 'Kean Out!' after one game into the season. It's so boring.

We know Venky's aren't going to sack him this soon, so why bother?

We know now !!!! He has to go , the sooner the better , like tomorrow 9am !!! The points Allardyce garnered kept us up last season ,there is no such cushion this season ...

Eventually the liars that are the Wankys will get shut of Kean if only to deflect attention from their own incompetence. The pressure is likely to be immense if results go against Rovers v Villa and v Everton.

Kean is a sad case who will hang in even though he probably knows that the Wankys have stuffed him with their lack of financial support in this transfer window to date and also by destroying Rovers back office structure.

Saw Kean's interview after the Wolves game and he was pitiful as he struggled to cope and had to be fed lines by the interviewer.

When he goes who in their right mind would take the job? who want's to work for people who's motto must be ''why tell the truth when a lie will do?''

Little wonder that the Wankys got rid of BFS so quickly - he would never have been a yes man to that crowd of hen house sh1t.
