Best case scenerio he is just JUST shaping up to match Ince's fabulous reign.

Well Ince got us two wins in the league cup, against Grimsby Town then Everton, while Kean had a win in the FA Cup against QPR then loss at Villa. If you include those it's 15 from 16 (Kean) vs 22 from 21 (Ince).

My point was that certain people are talking about a bad 6 game stretch. I wanted to provide some perspective for the whole tenure, against another much loved manager...

The worrying thing about Kean is he doesn't strike me as a lucky manager. He's made plenty of mistakes but the last two games we've not really had the rub of the green either. Maybe it balances out, West Brom away we rode our luck, Gerrard missed that penalty, Newcastle at home had their chances. Then again, we hit the post in the same game and on another day we'd have beaten Spurs.

My biggest gripe with him is selection.

We have been far too open as a team which the manager has admitted himself. Granted we beat Liverpool, however were probably playing them at the best possible time in their recent history. Even against West Brom, at home, we were far too cavalier.

The results have simply not been good enough so far under his tenure and, as we know, we have some difficult fixtures coming up - of course he could turn it around however it would be a significant turnaround. These are going to be high pressure games and IF we were to pick up some positive results it could be the making of Kean as a manager.

Some of the intial hype started around his amazing "pressers". Initially I thought he spoke quite well however the more I hear him speak the more it sounds like textbook coach answers along with the usual cliches. He does not speak frankly IMO and also comes across as having no charisma.

Early on he spoke well. On the other hand I thought he was pretty lame after the Fulham game. I'd have been spitting feathers at that penalty.

The cavalier stuff has been reined in a bit but Diouf up top is not doing us any favours. We should be looking to start with Santa Cruz and Kalinic up top with Roberts as an impact player.

I think I'm starting to get mild infrequent panic attacks at the thought of this clueless joker being in charge of us for the rest of the season. A golden age for the club spanning almost 20 years is likely to be less than 2 months from its end and I could be in my 50s the next time I see Rovers in the top flight. Please please please Venkys, GET RID NOW!!!

Theres no doubt he spoke well early doors but at that time nothing whats come to light on this messageboard had been mentioned!! All that was put on here were cryptic clues imo but now the people in the know are now seemingly coming out in force!! Like it or loathe it we are stuck with him and he seemingly stabbed many folk above him in the back. For that reason i say get rid big time!!!

I cannot now see him leaving before the end of the season, as we head into April I feel it's rather too late, and who would take the job at this stage. I just hope we get a couple of good results and narrowly escape relegation, prompting Venkys to remove Kean & replace with an experienced manager who can attract quality players & organise them in such a way that we can progress over the next few seasons. Staying in the prem is crucial, but I think the management & to some degree the squad needs a major overhaul before August.

As far as Kean goes I think we may have turned the corner with him. The last two performances against Fulham and Blackpool have been massive improvements, and the side looks much more solid now. Also Hoilett can come on to be really outstanding, and the two Jones are looking decent.

It seems quite plausible that the team can turn in a decent performance against Arsenal away even if we lose (he managed something like this before with a good display against Chelsea), and then a win at home to Brum.

He isn't going anywhere at the moment, I personally feel he should have been sacked/moved aside around four games ago, but there are hints of a recovery here.

Debatable as to whether any recovery is anything to do with him though.

Performances are completely irrelevant at this time, it's all about results - and we're not getting any.

I don't think we've looked solid at all in the last two games. We've conceded 5 goals and taken just one point - at home against Blackpool!

That simply isn't good enough.

He does not have the presence or demeanour of a natural leader of men. Might not sound much but it's massive in a team game.

We still conceded 5 goals in those 2 games. Shows how shocking the situation is really.

Fulham could have scored more, so could Blackpool.

Couldn't agree more. I posted a lot at the time he was appointed that I didn't know how the team were meant to be inspired such a dull man.

The more you hear from him the more it seems he provides templated answers which you would want to hear (i.e. he is not speaking frankly) – he drones on and appears to have little charisma too. Someone highlighted to me that you could say the same about Steve Coppell however at least he could be blunt about what he was really thinking.

It was interesting in one of the interviews from last weekend Kean said when the pressure is building it is good to know he has the training ground to rely on & work on things – hopefully he realises there is much more to being a top manager than laying on structured training sessions.

Coppell is a bit bonkers though, you can see some rage behind the quiet exterior. I'd say the same about Moyes too.

A comparison could be Alan Curbishley, but then again he's quite a blunt and honest speaker. I can't imagine him shouting though.

Kean reminds me of John Major, overpromoted beyond his capabilities, out of his depth, doomed to failure and will be forgotten when he's gone. Hope he's enjoying his brief moment of fame before he slinks back into the football undergrowth from where he came and where he will be remembered as a puppet for owners who are slowly destroying our football club.

They could have also easily scored fewer goals (particularly Blackpool) and we could have scored more. That's football.

As for the personality stuff, unless you have spent time with him one-on-one or unless you have been in the dressing room or on the training ground then you have no way of knowing.

You can, but you can also add that he clearly knew what he was doing and that was evidenced early on in his reign when we became extremely organised and were able to grind out results.
