Shortest duration of a premier manager after been given a contract?

Les Reed at Charlton I believe. Another club whose fans were not happy with a perfectly competant manager.

What happened to Charlton is a perfect object lesson for all those Rovers fans who were happy to see Sam depart.

Friend has just phoned to say that two local bookies wouldn't take a bet and one said he'd gone already !

If true, fantastic news - the two straws that have just maybe broken the camels back, Myles and the self indulgent article about Celtic.

All we need now is the return of Sam !

Will not be Sam, Rafa makes a lot of sense on a whole load of grounds. Whether he is the man for a relegation dog fight is another question- bringing Sam back would have been a guarantee of survival.

Anyway I am far from convinced Kean has been dismissed.

All bets have dried up on Steve Kean now. All four major bookies haven't taken a penny since midday. Very strange betting pattern #rovers

Above, Plunkett's latest twitter entry.

I still don't think he is going to be sacked unfortunately.

Nothing strange about it. Someone took a sizeable-ish punt based on a tweet this morning and bookies cut prices accordingly. They aren't subsequently shy about letting people know that they've done so because it will likely attract more bets at prices that are value to them.

If Kean gets sacked before the end of the season, we'll likely know the identity of his successor almost as quickly unless Venky's plan to appoint the tea lady.

Tell me about it.

Well on my way to buy a bottle.

Well on my way for my usual couple of pints on a Friday afternoon. Usually, about half a dozen of us. No doubt what the topic will be !

It'd be idiotic to sack him now. Another blow to the equilibrium of the club and players would be a disaster.

You don't think 2 points in the last 7 games is a disaster? Take a look at that:

3 points below our next worst relegation rivals (Blackpool/Villa) and at least 5 below any others. Regardless of the variety of weak excuses made for our recent results we will go down under Kean. Any kind of change gives us some hope, currently there is none.

So how much have you bet we will go down?

Well, I do need cheering up so if you hear anything, let me know, I would gladly drive to Ewood and clear his desk for him!!

I don't understand how people think sacking someone with very few games left helps at all. I believe we have more chance of surviving under Kean than under any other realistic possibilities. The players know they're in a relegation fight. Football logic goes out of the window and the best way to survive is now on their mentality. I don't think sacking their manager would bring about a more positive mentality in the players. Yes that's speculation...as is stating Kean will take us down.
