Mattyblue Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 It's not a great point at all. It shows us going through a bad run of form in the middle of last season. you don't sack a highly competent manager every time you hit a bad patch. That is why Ince was not given the leeway Allardyce was. Anyway, we are in a loveless marriage with Keano now till May, so on we go.

SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 We have no option here but to support Keane. One thing is for sure....our owners are utterly clueless.
Majiball Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 We have no option here but to support Keane. One thing is for sure....our owners are utterly clueless. No, they are the type of people who if caught pissing in the wind, would ###### harder in vain hope as opposed to doing an about turn.
Andy Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 A manager's appointment should be based upon current circumstances, the league you are in and knowing if that manager's operating profile fits into the club in terms of both size and resource. If Kean goes now, then logically, it would have to be a short term appointment until you knew what league we will be in. If I was the owner, I would eat a massive amount of humble pie, go to Sam and say : we got it wrong, we are sorry, manage us until the end of the season, keep us up and, if you do, there's £1.5m and we will talk again at the end of the season. I wouldn't care if I looked an incompetent tit, hold-up your hand, admit your mistake, apologise and try and preserve both your initial investment and, more importantly for all Rovers' supporters, the future of our club. I simply don't think there is a better alternative and sticking with Kean is tantamount to suicide. Completely agree - as I would hope most Rovers do.
Waggy76 Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Paul Plunkett on Twitter PaulPlunkettLT Paul Plunkett To all those who have asked for my opinion: sacking Kean = certain relegation. Players support him to the hilt. #rovers I understand the need to support the team . ..Cos we are in the 'mire ' big style !! But , the manager is not up to the task (players have proved under past regimes that they can battle and win )he just simply as to go ... We will be relegated , if Mr Kean continues to be the manager .. He should have been removed after the Aston Villa debacle, if not then certainly after Fulham .. The clock is ticking and I fear the worst ..
rebelmswar Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 We have no option here but to support Keane. One thing is for sure....our owners are utterly clueless. There are always other options. I will take them instead of supporting that walking clusterprocreation. Like - not supporting Kean. That just blew that theory out of the chicken run.
Mc Love Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Of course there are options - Not supporting Kean - its impossible to support the club with the pleb at the steering wheel
92er Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I make that 9 games in the league without a win and 2 losses in the FA cup and the League cup also. How many of us wanted Allardyce to stay during the above run? Wasn't that a run of results that allegedly led to a big bust up at Man City and which in turn led to an improvement in performance? If so, there was a lot of unhappiness against Allardyce at the time. However, Allardyce was able to turn it round. How many posters, or indeed Rovers supporters, believe Kean can turn the situation round? And what is that belief based on?
broadsword Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Has this been posted anywhere yet? Venkatesh Rao- Kean is safe Only because I cannot get my hands on him.
Steve Moss Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 One man I think would fit like a glove would be Manuel Pelligrini the ex Villareal & Madrid manager, villareal and rovers have lots in common and I reckon he could do something similar here. He knows the SA market and the players there will know him that should appeal to the chicken overlords. Agreed, if we could afford him. Of course there are options - Not supporting Kean - its impossible to support the club with the pleb at the steering wheel I support the club. I do not support Kean. I don't not believe you must support one if you support the other. Support is earned. Kean has not earned my support as of yet and looks unlikely too.
imy9 Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Pelligrini? The same guy whose time is in the bottom 3 of la liga even though he has been bankrolled by a billionaire...ah well they were bottom two weeks ago!
Steve Moss Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Pelligrini? The same guy whose time is in the bottom 3 of la liga even though he has been bankrolled by a billionaire...ah well they were bottom two weeks ago! Pellegrini, the man who was managed 431 professional matches, winning 223 of them, and who has never failed to win less than 42% for squads he mas managed. Now compare that with Kean's record and explain to me exactly how we would be worse off? It is also worth pointing out that Malaga is 1 point from safety and 10 points from 8th. I think they'll pull it off. In Pellegrini's case that faith is not unrealistic based on his past history. In Kean's case there is nothing that can be relied upon to support any sort of faith, other than blind hope.
imy9 Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Villareal and Real Madrid are two huge teams with big budgets, he lands at Malaga and is struggling despite spending money and managing the team for 5 months. I rate him as a manager but then I rate Jol who has actually managed in the pl.
RovertheHill Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 You're all going to look daft when we beat Arsenal
roverwhelmed Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 You're all going to look daft when we beat Arsenal Can you imagine I hope the players are thinking 'we'll prove you all wrong'!!! Come on you Rovers!
thenodrog Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Kean isn't a manager, and I suspect you know that. I'd be very suprised if Tugay was. My link All this anger towards kean is wrong. It's those idiots who promoted him to incompetence. They'll never admit they were wrong it's not in their psyche but I wonder if privately they are regretting their actions. If not they will certainly live to.

The owners are the main culprits but,at the very least, Kean was not backwards in coming forwards.
Ray P Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 The Raos really need to get their act together and sack him. They wont listen to the fans, only SEM & Kentaro - driving the club into the ground. I hope the fans that turn up to the match chant Kean Out - the Rao's need to know how strongly we feel about it ================================================================================ Therein lies the rub. They are too bloody minded/niaive/financially tied-up, to admit their mistakes (many many) and it is almost certainly too late to change the course of our season now. What will be will be. The most difficult thing to accept is that if we scramble our way out of the relegation mire then Venkys will regard it as a great affirmation of their foolish decision to stick with Mr Steve. Consequently, the car crash will be repeated next season only for us to be struggling from flagfall with these idiotic owners pursuing their misguided strategies and with no understanding about what makes our great club tick. Catch 22 I'm afraid.
Mc Love Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 And they probably wont sack him then either as it will be seen that they appointed a fool and it was thier mistake because they are so bloody proud!
Miker Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 He's not going to get sacked this season. There's no point with 8 games left. I can't think of an instance where a manager was appointed late on in the season to save a club and succeeded. Newcastle tried that with Alan Shearer last season and that failed miserably.
Majiball Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 All this anger towards kean is wrong. It's those idiots who promoted him to incompetence. They'll never admit they were wrong it's not in their psyche but I wonder if privately they are regretting their actions. If not they will certainly live to. Has anyone actually asked to meet them in a JW style meeting? Would they even be prepared to do it?
Athlete Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 next week Rovers are at the Emirates can anyone honestly say that Steve kean has the nohow or nouse to get anything from this game ???? It is also highly possible that by the end of next weekend Rovers could be in the bottom 3 ..is Steve kean the man with John Jensen to take them out of that ???? I am really struggling to think of 3 worse sides at the moment ??? Wigan - they turned us over west Brom - picked up under Roy not lost since his appointment West ham - invested in strikers who are scoring turned it round Wolves - form team at the moment Blackpool - always got goals in them Aston Villa - in free fall in house fighting , etc but strangely there only win of recent is over Rovers convincingly Birmingham - possibly worse than Rovers we'll see shortly as if we dont beat them the only way is down !
Ferrit Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 You're all going to look daft when we beat Arsenal Hahahahahah. Good one.
