  1. 1. Should Steve Kean stay or go

Recommended Posts

Yes they were in contracts, Pederson excepted, also previously, consultations between owners and club were done through the chairman and board not the manager flying all over the place when he should be looking after his players,

thats changed as well plus as Parsons has stated, changes all over the club!!

Hughes had three pro license coaches with him, Sam had two, Kean has none!!

I'm not going to argue about this. Nicko said quite categorically that there were no relegation clauses in players contracts.

Changes in behaviour. Not changes in infrastructure. There's a difference. What is the point of this anyway?

Answer me this, does anyone on here actually know why Kean went to India? Was he summoned? Did he go of his own volition? Answer that before going off on one.

I think you'll find it's changed quite a bit since Sam left. For a start Sam and Neil MacDonald have both gone with Kean stepping up and Jensen coming in as the assistant. This has meant that Iain Brunskill - who has done an excellent job with the Reserves - has moved up to first team coach. This is the first senior position he has held. Four or five years ago he was coaching the Liverpool U12's. Gary Bowyer has moved up from the Academy and is now in charge of the Reserves while Terry McPhillips has moved up from the Under-16's to take the Under-18's. Thus the coaching set-up has changed at every level within the club.

These are, I believe, permanent appointments as Kean wanted to promote from within rather than bring in outside coaches.

These changes were as a result of Sam being sacked. My point remains, since that time there has been no infrastructure changes in the club apart from the chairman. Is that fair?

Well...no, not really!

We have different owners

We have no chairman

We now have an agency advising on transfers and staff appointments

We have a completely different coaching structure, down to youth level

Apart from that, no infrastructure changes at all! :)

To be fair some of those happened whilst Sam was here. But then again, the effects of having new owners and Anderson hadn't been felt until they decided to relieve Sam and appoint a yes man.

Erm, the phrase 'since Sam was sacked' was a clue. And where are the sports agency right now?

I get (ish) the point you are making. But the original post you replied to said "The structure of the club is completely unfit for purpose". The structure of the club has changed massively, I'm not sure why Sam is a marker in the context of that post.

Even using Sam as a marker, in the short time he managed under Venky's, we had no idea what they were doing and what role Anderson would play. For all intents and purposes it was 'business as usual' until they unexpectedly sacked Sam and let madness ensue.

As things stand our infrastructure isn't that of a PL side. Only Tom Finn really seems to have PL experience in their given role (I'm going all the way down to first-team coach level here). That's scary.

Tom Finn should be charged with taking the money whilst not doing anything to improve Rovers well being. Damming !

Right now Tom Finn's credibility is down there with the rest of the overpaid motley crew.

Exactly LeChuck, we have no one to bounce ideas off unless we use coaches of a much inferior level than previously.

The best managers have people they can rely on, it is well documented that certain managers were successful because of who they had around them, indeed, the essence of good management is to put the right people around them, now who didnt? Ince? Kean? the others did, should tell you something that!!

I believe they are as well. However why on earth they moved bowyer is beyond me as he was doing a good job heading up the academies coaches.

Kean has one, himself.

A man can only go so long without Pune!

I was at Southport, that 13 minute cameo was all we could talk about on the way home.

Interesting that Kean says in there that he suggested we take a look at Myles in the summer.

Now I wonder who suggested to him that we should do that?

This whole thing stinks, it really does. That article has made it ten times worse in my head.

Agree.

Kean really does need a reality check - he is deluded talking as if we are not in a fight for our lives.

If you watch the Youtube video posted earlier, right at the end, he's asked if he is still enjoying being a manager, his body language and reply is a squirming/fake "very much so" IMO.

Maybe Tom Finn is keeping the club from completely falling to pieces, who else is there on the UK side?

Anderson, Huber, Agnew, Grooby?

I think we need to appoint a Chairman asap! I was imagine that TF is the guy who is in charge of Club's affairs at the moment and reporting to the owners!

Who is Grooby?

Did Nicko say that we have appoint a headhunter to find a new chairman? does anybody know which employment company is doing this?

I don't know why you come out with this sort of stuff.

We'd be in a whole lot more bother if he wasn't there I can tell you that.

Just because it's not being done in a blaze of publicity doesn't mean there isn't still a steady hand behind the scenes - probably in pretty challenging circumstances as well.

Easy - they've won their last 6 home games on the trot, they are 3 points off the play-off group with a game in hand, they have 5 more home games to come and have had the same manager for must be 10 years. No boardroom disputes any more, almost! So I would say that's something to be happy about, compared to the Rovers present predicament. And i come from Accy.

oh ,@#/? footy in league 2,gates of 1000ish,dearer tickets than us and poss administration(according to accy fan i know(no idea if that bits true).you would rather be 3 points off a play off place in league 2 than the prem?

the mind truly boggles.

Who is Grooby? ...WHO??? HES THE DADDY /GODFATHER /GOD OF THIS BOARD AND WELL KNOWN PORN STAR!!!

who said that chocky?

I've seen It written but I can't recall the specifics. They want Venkey's to fail because they think they will leave and give up. The point is if they leave we WILL BE IN THE DEEP @#/?. Just read between the lines on some of these posts.
