  1. 1. Should Steve Kean stay or go

Recommended Posts

Betting markets moving on Kean getting sacked yet again.

What market at you looking at Philip - not much change from what I can see with P.P. drifting to 5/4.

Whether I go to Everton on Saturday will be dependent upon this chump no longer being in charge.

At this stage, I can't see Venkys twisting, however, they are so unpredictable, you never know.

As for Kean's statements about Givet, Kean, IMO, has little if any credibility left and I, like a lot of other supporters I know, simply don't trust the guy.

Yes really.

That Wigan game was an excellent demonstration of how Hoilett had the potential, but wasn't quite ready to start every single week. He had a very poor game. Not that you would know from your seat.

That’s a little unfair Den, after the opening 20 minutes at Wigan the whole team capitulated, and the pitch hardly helped Hoiletts type of game.

By the way have you two not thought about arguing by PM?

I find it amusing that people listening to Kean are still taking his word as gospel. I switch off the minute he starts rambling on.

On the subject of Junior. Clearly SA did a very good job in nuturing this (junior) player professionally and securing him to contract. We are seeing the results of SA's work over the last 2 years with this player at this time. But the Keantards would have you believe he has just appeared magically on the scene and any development, training, edcuation and experienced gained in the last 24 months or so is completely irrelevant. :D

However, credit to Kean also for believing in Junior fully and supporting him by picking him and giving him the confidence to go and play. He has been the one bright spark about the club for weeks now.

On the subject of Givet. How is it good management to talk up Givet coming back on Thursday, but by Saturday he is not in the 'right frame of mind'? Sounds like a complete lack of communication and subsequent lack of effective planning to me. If any doubts existed about Givet's frame of mind, then this should have been discovered much earlier, worked on and addressed accordingly. Sounds like Kean only knew on Friday or Satuurday that Givet was unhappy and had to change plans accordingly. Sounds about right.

On the subject of Kean. 14 points from 45. Sadly, our best chance of survival lies with the inability of others to pick up enough points to get and stay ahead of us. A sorry state of affairs.

I suppose Kally wasn't in the 'right frame of mind' either

Which brings me to another question, when you get two players 'not in the right frame of mind' suggests that all is not as rosy in the garden as we are lead to believe!!

If Givet did say that, it is an outrageous show of unprofessionalism.

Didn't Givet say he was fine to play and it would be sorted out in time.

It seems just an excuse for Kean not to play a player he should have. Just like Kalinic.

Shame Benjani didn't say he was in the wrong state of mind.

Well, which is it?

Either, you knew from the off that Hoilett could beat defenders or, in your own words "haven't seen him skin anyone for out and out pace".

It's only difficult for the hard of understanding. Hoilett could always go past players. You don't need pace to do that. As for Hoilett's pace he's very quick over the first few of yards in particular, but at the game at Wigan, he didn't outrun his full back, over distance all afternoon. As you will know.

Yes, we are.

My mistake if thats the case, sorry.

No problem Gav.

By the way have you two not thought about arguing by PM?

Yeah, tried that.

Spot on

Like you say, Kean was able to give Hoilett a chance and he has been fantastic for us. What a number of people are failing to see is that, its ok to bring one player into the team and for them to play well, as long as the rest of the team continues to perform at the same level as they were previous to the change of management. This unfortunately hasn't happened, and sadly the ray of sunshine that is Hoillet, has been fairly eclipsed by the other dark clouds over Ewood Park currently.

Shame Benjani didn't say he was in the wrong state of mind.

I actually thought Benjani did ok when he came on

He looked better than what came before him but also looked very rusty. To be expected I suppose.

I hope Santa Cruz comes good I really do as he seems to be the only striker getting a run in the team. He looked disinterested on Saturday though, that's a real worry.

The wisdom of Gav:

"Gav, Sam saved us from relegation in his first season, turned Ewood into a fortress in his second season and we finished 10th, and this season were it not for his sacking, his form until December would have had us 9th right now. Possibly even better if he had 5mill to spend in Jan, whereas everything he did was on a hugely negative net spend"

"blah blah blah Sam was taking us backwards, blah blah hoofball"

"Right Gav. Also attendances improved year on year under Sam. Granted prices came down but still no one would spend hundreds of pounds and plenty of Saturdays seeing something when they didn't like it would they?"

"Sorry, my brain can't really compute numbers higher than what I can count on my two hands, and me and the other numpties I go to Ewood with wanted him out so he was definitely losing the fans too"

For whatever reason he's had nothing much to do since the Liverpool game, very odd as this was our best performance under Kean. 'Never change a winning side' springs to mind

Ah the good doctor, welcome to the debate doc, your input has certainly been missed so far today, but I guess you’ve been busy saving lives or getting close to Ronaldinho.

By the way:

We go to games you jumped up little ****, so do us all a favour and **** off until you've something decent to say you ****.

Sorry to the rest of the board, I don't mind debate but when that idiot starts insulting people it tends to wind me up, and I've tried hard to stay civil with him, really I have :P

I go to more games than a hell of a lot of people in this thread. However, unlike you I never use that as leverage because someone can know lots about the game and be sat watching every match from the States. And there was plenty of footballing debate in that post, plenty of facts that you just chose to ignore. As always.

Dont let him wind you up Gav.

Bless.

I chose to ignore it because you're a lying little ****** who spends his time trying to mix football chat with insults, do us all a favour and **** off :tu:

Again may I apologies to the rest of the board for my outburst, it won't happen again :D

It's a bit like Jehovah's Witnesses Den. He'll NEVER be convinced that someone else's opinion might just make sense. It's a lost cause trying logical debate. If you're getting a headache from that brick wall, consider giving up. I did. Take solace from the fact that most people with double digits of brain cells see the same things and have the same opinion as you.

Lying? Exactly what do you think I'm lying about?

That I have to work a fair few weekends and dont live in Blackburn so only go to Ewood about 7 games a season? Or do you think I'm lying about my job? Or that I took a couple of weeks off work, went to Rio and caught Ronaldinho at the Flamengo-Fluminense derby at the Engenhao? Since those are the three things you mentioned, it would be interesting to see which one you meant.

And no Gav, you ignored it because you're incapable of answering the football related points. Which made up about 90% of that post. I'm going to try and steer it back to the football because my posts are usually mostly about that. Sam wasn't losing the fans and he was taking the club forwards if we look at the league progress. Those two are incontrovertible facts.

Its called being civil TGM, as I have often remarked you can have a conversation with someone without insulting them or belittling them, my family always taught me that.

My family always told me not to take football messageboards so seriously, especially when the worst thing someone has said is call you a 'numpty'.

Actually, that is a lie. My family had naff all to do with that, it's called common sense.
