Majiball Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Just what I thought when watching those videos. None of them even considered falling over - they just wanted to finish the move and score the goal. Wenger, hang your head in shame. People always say they wouldn't be able to cope with the pace and physicality but when you watch some of the video's you really have to ask if that's true.

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 My Dad and Bill Shankly reckon the best of the lot was Tom Finney. I only saw Finney once right at the end of his career and he was still memerising. Blokes were queuing up to tackle him and he left them all on their backsides. Better than Best, on that one showing, maybe.

Yep you also have to ask how good they would have been now with all the advancements in coaching, diet and equipment.
Mayfield Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 more of an important question, Andrews or Grella?
AggyBlue Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 My Dad and Bill Shankly reckon the best of the lot was Tom Finney. Aye, my old man too. He'd be queuing at 12;00 at Deepdale for the match against Blackpool, apparently Mathews versus Finney was a must see. Finney was the best player he ever saw, but 'you never ever told a Preston fan that'
