[Archived] EDL demonstration in Blackburn

Not sure if people are aware but there will be an EDL march in Blackburn next Saturday 2nd April.

Police are working to manage this but King George's Hall will likely be a place to avoid.

The counter-demo will be at Sudell Cross so I hope no-one is getting married at the Registry Office!

The recent one in Preston went off with little incident but just a heads-up.

Where do I say I support em 47er? To tell you the truth the first I knew about this was reading Jisty's post. Does that sound like a raging nazi activist to you? I shall expect you to retract your attempt at mud slinging forthwith, if you choose not to then I shall contact admin to complain about you. I'm sick of snidey innuendo's with every comment I make on this subject.

However back to your question.... if it were I'd sit on the Blackburn end wouldn't I 47er? Those boors and their like are a big part of my decision taken 2/3 yaers ago not to travel to away matches with BRFC..... unless of course it's to enjoy a spot of corporate hospitality.

What I will say is that if you are ever in this area just drive around Blackburn with your eyes open and you'll see a town that the indigenous population has lost control of. It says in the bible that 'you reap what you sow'. Well the EDL is the result of what has been sown here since the 60's. Warnings were given but were drowned out in a welter of happy clappy liberalism that shouted down all objections as racist and bigoted. Not the best way forward was it?

Whose actual fault it is is of lesser consequence cos these kids from the sink estates and inner city deprived areas see no work, no future and depressed conditions. They do not try to excel in education, they feel elbowed aside by an immigrant population that is quite simply way too large and way too influential, neither will either side even attempt inegration as the divisive religious 'wedge' keeps being driven further in. This all provides the fertile breeding grounds for such extreme politics and everything our politicians do to try and ward off this situation is almost always skewed in favour of something that we are told is the 'minority'. Freedom of speech has been virtually outlawed by various acts of parliament so is it any wonder that this type of malaise flourishes? What makes me laugh is that we've seen this sort of stuff time and again in history yet we are still stupid enough to believe that this belongs in the past and that the human race and human behavioural traits have somehow evolved massively in the last half century. To anybody with even an inkling of how evolution works it's laughable isn't it?

I asked you a question Theno and nowhere have I accused you of being a "raging Nazi activist"so don't bluster or try to bully me. Much of what you say above is undeniable except for the "freedom of speech' bit. It seems to me that the EDL have a bit too much freedom of speech to insult other races and religions. And "yes" the same goes for Abu Hanza (sp?). Isn't he in clink awaiting deportation for exceeding his rights to freedom of speech? I don't suppose you want the laws changing to assist him?

No it moved a while back. It's part of KGH now, I think it's just next to the magistrates. Maybe that's why they've allow the demos there. They can nick any offenders and get them straight up in front of a beak!

What about the fat guy from Birmingham? He's photographed giving a Nazi salute, has a swastika tatooed on one side of his chest and a Waffen SS insignia on the other. He claims "I am not a racist"! The man doesn't even have the courage of his convictions. A pity we couldn't take him back to 1940 and a conviction for treason. We'd see what courage he had then.
