RIML Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Lehmann back in goal, Dunny has a pop at goal, 1-1 like a few seasons ago

67splitscreen Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Anything less than -3 in the GD column will be a bonus.
BangkokRover Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 Always prefered illustrations to words ! Congrats B.R. on your preview. Thanks for your kind words I did have more images but there is a limit on the number you have. Oh well I think I did OK next time I it should be better. Cheers BKR
1864roverite Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I am with RVR 6-0 Arsenal. Rovers will lose RVP will defo score Nightmare goal dioffernece scenario looming.
MarkBRFC Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I think we'll lose, but i dont think it will be anything like the 6-0 people are talking about. I see it being a similar game to the Chelsea one a couple of months back, we'll do ok without creating much, and we'll lose 2-0.
Roost Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Also, how many do we usually take down? Our allocation is 1,500ish I think, will we sell out? Just bought two tickets for some Limerick lads over for the game and there are only a handful of tickets left out of the allocation of 1400 ish. Not a bad effort
Neil Weaver Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Anything less than -3 in the GD column will be a bonus. I'd settle for that 67, given it's -12 as I type
No Nay Never Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Anything we get at Arsenal will be a bonus, Birmingham is where with out fail we have to pick up 3 points. Sadly I fear Blackpool was probably the one where we had to without fail pick up 3 points.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Mighty dread. We're simply not good enough against this lot...3-0 Arsenal.
roversmum Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Looking forward to the experience of the stadium more than the match! It looks pretty especially at night when lit up, but when you look closer it's just a heap of concrete (which is already beginning to perish) and tin, no class at all. RVP will defo score A job for Mr J Jones I reckon ...
booth Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 We're going to get annihilated with this one sadly. Wenger will know we're on the ropes, will know that we're totally cavalier in our approach, and will know that Kean is tactically inept. He will get his men organized and I expect them to take all three points. Even under SA I'd say we'd get beat in this game. Under Steve Kean they'll kill us. I can't imagine what Arsenal's forwards will do to our brittle defense
philipl Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Given the way Arsenal are playing at present, there has to be a chance of nicking something if we get at that defence and keeper hard and uncompromisingly. This is by-pass midfield time plus MGP on the pitch for his throw ins. Plus the alamo, the team bus and Colin Hendry's they shall not pass spirit at the back. Any other approach and we will get slaughtered. 13Blackburn30 -12 33 14Aston Villa30 -14 33 15Blackpool30 -15 33 16West Brom30 -15 33 17West Ham30 -13 32 18Wolves30 -14 32 19Birmingham29 -13 31 20Wigan30 -22 30 A 4 goal defeat or worse and we go from having the best GD of the strugglers (except Wigan) to having the worst GD and that could be enough to send us down on 22 May.
Herbie6590 Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 A classic tale of a heavy defeat.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHdLgVfFrwI
Exiled in Toronto Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Even under SA I'd say we'd get beat in this game. Given that under SA we lost our 2 visits there by a cumulative 10-2, I suspect you might be right. My only hope is that when a thrashing seems the only possible result, we sometimes pull something out of nowhere - remem Bohinen at OT? Not this time though, 4-0
matt4self45 Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Even under SA I'd say we'd get beat in this game. Under Steve Kean they'll kill us. I can't imagine what Arsenal's forwards will do to our brittle defense I'm a long time lurker of the message boards and have rarely posted over recent times, but due to recent times my frustrations are beginning to boil over with regards to Sam Allardyce and results under him away from home. In reality there are not really any differences now between our away form now and during his regime. Whenever we where away to any of the big boys we where always convincingly beaten. The tactics where always woefully negative and when we inevitably considered the first goal our game plan went out of the window. During one point in Big Sam's tenure we lost 10 league games away in a row. Basically this poor away form has been going on for a long time now and regardless of the result, it wont all be down to Steve Kean, as i guarantee you that we'll do better than last seasons 6-2

I am ever the optimist. Before every game I have that "sneaky feeling" that we can pinch something. Afterall it's only 11 v 11. Nobody seems to think we can get anything here and rightly so. But that lack of expectation for this one could just work in our favour. Tactics as Philip suggests and there is no reason why we couldn't sneak something. Get in their faces ruffle them up and see what happens. We will probably get tonked but you never know. If there is one team in the league that can cave into a fighting team it is Arsenal. Just let 'em have it!!
Roversi Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 the only way we will get anything out of the game is if we play angry, the players must put there bodys on the line. everyone knows Arsenals weakness, so Pedersen must play his delivery for free kicks and thrown in will be vital. my team would be this.... GK: Robinson RB: Salgado LB: Olsson CB: Samba CB: Nelsen MR: Emerton ML: Pedersen MC: J.Jones MC: P.Jones AMC: Holiett ST: Roberts Holiett will be more effective in this game in the centre for the simple reason we need to break and break fast, Clichy will have him covered on the right. Junoir must make runs of Roberts who i would pick ahead of cruz, kalinic etc etc for the fact that he causes more problems in speed and power then both of them. on a pitch like arsenals and with a defense as weak as their's Roberts will cause problems.

Is that really the best we can do ? Pedersen's got to play because he's the only @#/? who can land the ball 5 yards either side of the 6 yard line. These guys are on mega-money for Gods sake, what do they do all day ? That's me done, I give up, that team would not do well in the championship. Really depressed now.
Stockport rover Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Anyone know how many tickets we've sold for this?
colin Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Anyone know how many tickets we've sold for this? 2,435. You're welcome
USABlue Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I can only see me watching another embarrassing defeat on the telly over here, sigh, sadly it seems to be the only time we are on, against one of the "big" boys.
scunnyrover Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Really can't see us getting anything out of this game but I'm not a pessimist and really hope we can hold out for most of the game and nick a winner. Our defence needs to be tight as anything and we need to pressure them constantly and really get at em. We got the win at ewood last year so let's try and do it at the emirates. Is this on ESPN as its a half 5 kick off?
Steve Moss Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I'm going to reverse myself out of a spirit of contrariness and as I need something to hope for in regards to the Rovers, not matter how unlikely. I think/believe/have faith that we'll get something out of this one.
