Rovermatt Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 So if PM doesn't sign we've got another Cutler situation to deal with. Great. Who was it that the Broncos were after that made Cutler throw a wobbler? Was it Cassel?
ABBEY Posted March 12, 2012 Author Posted March 12, 2012 90% done deal and tebow to jags!!!! From dove valley!
T4E Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Who was it that the Broncos were after that made Cutler throw a wobbler? Was it Cassel? Yeah, was the off-season when McDaniels joined coming off the season when Brady was out and he'd worked with Cassel. In this instance we'd be gaining more and losing less, but it could still be a problem.

Josh Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Tebow must be good if they are shipping him off already
HemelRover Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Tebow must be good if they are shipping him off already Dont be daft. I think he is gash but there arn't many franchises that wouldn't swop their current number 1 for Payton.
HemelRover Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Could you post a link to tebow being gash? did you think that one up on your own or did you have guidance? But, seeing as you asked. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/sort/quarterbackRating 28th out of 32. Only just better than Rex Grossman. Incidentally, same position for League rushers where he isnt even the leagues leading rushing QB(Cam Newton, who was 15th in the League QB passer rating list and 26th in the League rusher). http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/rushing
HemelRover Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Seriously? We're doing this again? Abbey did ask
T4E Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 He did. And you're wrong. Tebow is not gash. He's just not a QB whose strengths are the same as your usual NFL QB. Doesn't stop him leading his team to wins. He was also below Kyle Orton, does that mean you think cutting Orton for Tebow was a bad move? As far as Newton goes - great player - but his team went 6-10.

As far as Newton goes - great player - but his team went 6-10. This is the reason the Broncos was successfull last year. The team, them and the coaching set up/philospohy. Not Tebow. They won with a few moments of brilliance from Tebow plus a massive team/coaching effort to overcompensate for his many downsides.
T4E Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Tebow was as much a reason for it as anyone else. If he wasn't, why did the exact same team go 1-4 under Orton?

Jeru tha Damaja Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Can't see if it's been mentioned, but Pierre Garcon has also announced that he will sign for the Redskins. Really trying to set up some weapons for RG3. Who needs draft picks when you've got cap room and a new rookie salary structure?
Jeru tha Damaja Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Megatron gets paid, and he's gonna be with the Lions for 8 more years! Very happy.
CaliRoverNYC Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 80 yd steelers playoffs is one example of "gash" How many games did Newton start? Newton was a rookie QB starting in the NFL, do me a favor and tell me what Peyton Manning's record was as a rookie, you might as well go look up Troy Aikman's rookie record as well. Rookies hardly ever start at QB in the NFL for a reason, cause they need a couple years before they can be successful. *My mistake Abbey, I meant to highlight Neil's comment*
T4E Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Like I said, Cam Newton is great. But when all was said and done last season Tebow went to the playoffs and Newton didn't. Not saying Newton is gash, I'm saying that stat proves that Tebow isn't.
ABBEY Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 The only person who mentioned gash is Hemel!
HemelRover Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 The only person who mentioned gash is Hemel! Yep, and I stand by it. I will be gutted for my Jaguars supporting brother if Tebow goes there. He aint exactly happy by the prospect either
